I was in search of some skin care items and after seeing the face roller at so many different Ross locations for months I've wanted one but haven't felt like going into Ross. I was nearby and told myself, " It's either now or you're ordering online and waiting for shipping time." We don't all use amazon prime for everything - the majority of items though, yes! I walked in and went straight to the body care/skin care section on the right. There was a large stock of lotions, but not so much the face roller and ice roller. I got the last of each. There weren't many cashiers when i got to the line, but they called another associate to the register and she was getting through the line fast. I was in line for no more than 5 minutes with about 7 customers ahead of me. It was an average experience, hence the 3 stars. read more

I've been waiting for Ross to open for months and finally I saw the sign that it was going to open March 10th but I waited a few days before checking it out. The building used to be occupied by Office Depot and is huge. This is the first Ross in Oakland so I'm looking forward to shopping here more often! This is a large Ross and I like the fact that there is more room for merchandise and the check-out area is smaller and all the check stands are in a row. Ross is affordable Not welcomed by staffs and customers shopping there. Cashier who rung me up was despicable, kept looking at the price ticket on my item like it was counterfeit. Paid for my purchase, handed me the receipt like I was never here. Doorman acted like he was the show, discriminated me like you ain't got no dough. On second visit, got worse by the mintue. Never spending my hard earned stacks for anything less. Cause' Ross ain't worth the mess. read more

The Spanish older lady cashier is rude. She was taking my shirt off the hanger through the top part stretching it out. So I ask her can she take the hanger out from the bottom. And she told me to give her a minute like I was bothering her when I only ask her once. Then when she was taking off the alarms she was handling my merchandise so roughly she made a small hole in my item that I bought. I don't get what her problem was. but I hope you guys can find some better cashiers. read more

Horrible experience, racists security guard at front door. Wouldn't let me in the door. Had to go through a metal detector to get into the store? Unbelievable manager who lost touch with customers. I think that was what I was. Took videos, they surrounded me telling me I couldn't take videos of their verbal abuse. I need lawyer. read more

The one star is due to being blatantly followed around the store by security when there were other customers who are the same race as security NOT being followed around. I certainly won't be coming to this location plus they don't have much anyway. read more

Since this store just opened March 10 this year, I was expecting more. I saw some nice furniture, a couch and a few tables but the Emeryville store with less space has more of a selection. The shelves look kind of sparse. read more

This Ross is has taken the place of many other store that were at this same location. It's big but not enough cashiers on deck. But I like to buy t-shirts. They don't have a very huge selection on t's. They didn't even have many XL or XXL shirts. I wonder why that is? But finding parking isn't hard at all. It's a big lot. read more

I was pretty impressed by this Ross in Oakland! I had only gone to the store in Alameda. The store was well organized and ALL the employees (loss prevention, employees walking by and the cashier) were super friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back to this Ross next time I need a house item at a good price! read more

Rude SEXIST security women as soon as I walked in kept " offering " me a bigger basket that I didn't need or want! She literally followed me around the store snd asked me 5 times! The fifth time she came with a big cart and I told her I was literally about to go pay and I didn't want to transfer my items , she just stood there insisting!!!! Like I'm a child or something! I spent like an hour or two picking out things carefully, and after she refused to budge until I transferred my stuff, I no longer wanted to shop, I felt sick to my stomach, I don't look like a bratty kid or a junkie and I didn't behave like a shoplifter ( I know because I worked in retail when I was younger ) so I stood there for a minute trying to ignore what happen and finish looking at the last row before I headed out, and I was too angry to think, so I had my sister ask for a manager, and the manager was ignoring me looking over to the front of the store, not even pretending to pay attention. Then I noticed two men were walking around the store with clothes stacked literally 20 high without hangers, and apparently been there for a while, and NO ONE FORCED THEM TO TAKE A BASKET!!! That was all I could take! I took my cart to the manager and said " I'll let you put these away, your security women just cost the store hundreds of dollars in a pandemic financial downturn, it's payday and your store is pretty empty" they seemed to be over staffed and under stocked as well, many of the things I buy at Ross they didn't have. Very rude sales associates. The lady brushed up against me while I was standing in the line. Turns out she was the manager. I will not be shopping here again. They treat you like a criminal. Do spend your money in a place like this. All I needed was a nice dress for a funeral. read more

This is a new place, it just opened up. Stuff are organized. There is full of staff. I would shop there when it's less people, when more people work monday-friday, 9-5 kind of hours. I went today, the line was long as heck I put items back, but will show there as soon as I get off work, avoid weekend and after work hours probably. Good place though. It's nice to have a Rosa in the area. read more

This may be the most organized Ross I have visited. Everything is organized in a way that makes sense, making the flow of shopping so much easier. The people working today were friendly and helpful. My only recommendation is to have more people working the jewelry counter. I ended up leaving that area without being assisted. That's okay though, I ended up with lots of other great finds! I'll visit again once the grand opening is over. read more

I've gone to this Ross 4x since it has opened. Each time, I have gone with the full intention of shopping and spending my money. I love Ross and to shop. However, there is something about this Ross where either they purposely do not stock their shelves full with merchandise OR they purposely do not purchase many items to sell at their store. Every time I walk in I ask myself if the store is closing soon. It looks like they are beginning to clear out inventory because this site is not selling enough. Or, is it that you have so many customers that by 4pm your inventory has been sold? I've preferred to drive into Alameda because they have more in store... read more

Just a heads up, they stop letting people into the store much before closing time! Don't say you close at 8, when you are already holding the doors at 7:45 when I showed up. I knew exactly what I was going to grab, and they just lost a customer! read more

Customer doesn't seem to matter. "Cashier" working 9/12 at 7p seemed more interested in what was going on outside. Poor service. I will not go back to that awful store. I would have rated it zero stars but it seems I have to give it at least one. Too bad. read more
