My wife and I love shopping at Ross!!!! We always go to any locations we can find! This specific location was on our list to stop by and we finally got our chance! The location was well stocked, chocked full of clearance items as well as the usual items. Staff was super friendly and helped us find exactly what we needed and more! It's definitely a place one could walk in with a hundred dollars and walk out with a cart full of really nice things! My wife normally spends no less than 100$ everytime! I don't mind it though because of the smile she has on her face whenever we are checking out. Happy wife happy life type shit. Anyway, 9/10, would most definitely recommend. read more

This is a really good Ross, really big, lots of selection. I also like that they don't have a guard standing at the door letting one person in at a time to prevent thieves from running out of the store with stuff like the Tacoma location. On February 27 around 1:00 PM, I had a very unpleasant interaction with the dressing room attendant (short older Hispanic lady). I was standing quietly waiting for her so she could direct me to a fitting room. Without any prompting, she snapped at me about "reading the sign," even though I hadn't said anything and was simply waiting. Her tone was sharp and dismissive. I didn't even see what "sign" she was yelling at me about. This isn't the first time I've witnessed or experienced rude behavior from this same employee. I've also seen her speak curtly to other customers on previous visits. Customer service sets the tone for a store, and unfortunately this interaction made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I hope management addresses it, as it definitely impacts the shopping experience. read more

We came here looking for a last minute dress for a party. Their selection was not big but was good. Their store seemed clean and well organized. My daughter found some nice tops and sweaters. The kids shoes selection though could be better. The fitting rooms are small and dirty, that us my minus star. Overall, is a Ross. You might or might not find what you need. I've also found a lot of Nike shoes that I've never seen in stores anywhere before at Ross. It's Ross. Of course, they aren't always going to have what I need but usually, I come just for the heck of it and find some neat things. I have made purchases that I wish I returned awhile ago and some that I quite cherish (both cases involve shoes). Other times, I bought items that I really had no purpose for or it was damaged so I took it back to be returned. They were nice enough to return it (: I give it only four stars because the place can sometimes be a mess and hard to look for certain things. As stated previously, this is Ross. Adjust your expectations accordingly if need be. Remember the deep discounts. Some times things are more organized than others, and their stock does change on a regular basis. If you go in with the mindset that you're walking into an estate sale or garage sale, you don't expect things to be in perfect shape or to be organized, but hey, the price reflects that. The treasures here are sometimes awesome, sometimes not. It's always a hunt, an experience. If you're in a hurry, this isn't your store. Take your time, and savour all that pierce county has to offer. Don't expect anyone to be in a rush to help you here, and don't expect them to rush you out the door. Take it for what it is. Assistant manager was really helpful in exchanging of an item I'd purchased earlier. She let me skip the line, which was about as along as an Anaconda. Store was in totally disarray and had items strewn about like a tornado had just hit. The crowd in here was a little rough, and had I not been next door already at BBB, I would have skipped this place for sure. It's a one star place without question, however, I'm giving them a bonus star because of the assistant manager. Thanks to the AM for getting me out of here as fast as I did. Honestly, I used to hate Ross. Normally I would never find anything I wanted. This location however, has a great selection of stuff! Went in just looking for shoes, left with shoes, 2 dresses and 4 tops for under $100! The shoe selection can definitely be hit and miss. This time around I was looking for a pair of Chuck Taylors. The women's side happened to have what I wanted but not in my size. As a last ditch effort I tried the men's side and there they were! (They are definitely labeled as a women's shoe, so I'm not sure whether this was the result of employee error or lazy customer). All of the employees were very nice and the security lady at the front had a good laugh with us when I walked by her (still shopping) and exclaimed to my friend how we had been there an hour already, cart full of stuff and still hadn't tried anything on yet! The pricing is very good too! My chucks were about $25 cheaper than other stores and I got this fantastic dress for $20 that was originally marked $130. Now don't get me wrong, never in my life would I have paid $130 for this dress, but for $20 it had my "ME" written ALL OVER IT (so to speak). I had to stop myself from buying a fantastic Betsey Johnson purse (easily normally over $80) for less than half price, because honestly, I JUST WENT IN FOR SHOES, and had already blown my budget completely out of the water for this shopping trip. If the purse is still there next time it WILL be mine, and oh yes there will be many more "next times"!! read more

Only one cashier open, so the lines started to get busy. Not sure what the point of having self checkout is, if there's no other employees at the self checkout stands to remove your security tags - which you have to get removed before you even begin checkout. Got behind this man in line at self checkout, we waited for a bit for someone to come over and let us go through. Decided to browse more, as there was no point in just standing around. By the time I approached the line again, the man in front of me was finally being helped by LP...but then the LP walked away from self checkout again before I could get my tag's removed. He went to the front to conversate with another LP who as restockng items. They saw more people waiting at self checkout, but no one came over again. Went through the regular line as it finally died down. When I got up to checkout, the female LP called out to the older (grandma) woman next in line, saying she could take her on the other register. The old woman looked around for a second confused, probably didnt hear the LP clearly. Not even a second went by and the LP said, "Oh you don't want my help? Okay then." and walked away from the register. The poor old lady then stated she didn't hear her being called over, and looked frustrated. I get it if they're maybe understaffed, but maybe they need a better system for this. At the Lakewood location, you get your bags checked and security tags removed AFTER purchasing through self checkout. I feel like they would benefit from this system (probably would be better for preventing stealing too...removing the tag first makes would likely make it easier to sneak an item in your bag without scanning), especially if they can have an LP assistant with tag removal when needed. read more

ROSS! DRESS FOR LESS, more like dress for the mindless. It's not that bad of a store, just iffy. The more I think about Ross, the more I think this place was named after Ross Geller (Aka David Schwimmer) from 'Friends'. The clothes do match well, not much fashion sense. So it's has to be. They lack Unagi. The Isles are way too close. The store is disarray as if Marcel the monkey went through here. Clothes are all over the place, makes me think how often it's get dirty. The floor is dirty, like 'Smelly Cat' Phobe's song. Here are the goods about the store: the manager is nice in this location, and my girlfriend got a good deal with a $60 purse, that end up as $15. So it's good. Overall: ok to come. At less it's not Joeys. Lol. read more

Ok, people, it's Ross. We all know that all Rosses are practically the same, but I find this one to be pretty well done. After visiting dozens upon dozens of times, I have created an accurate list of pros mad cons. PROS: 1) They actually have a large selection of kinda weird electronic stuff. I mean just unique chargers, stations, etc. Kinda hard to explain but check it out. It's around the corner on the left as you walk in. 2) They got some CHEAP Nike stuff you come on the day you come when they get their new shipments (Tuesday). This is great but you HAVE to come on Tuesday or it'll be all gone. 3) Customer service is good. 4) They normally have security working so you feel pretty safe. CONS: 1) On a busy day, it's get cramped at heck! You get pretty claustrophobic! 2) Its messy! There are always clothes on the floor and that sort of thing and is just nasty. I love Ross and their prices are really low and fair. One thing though, is their lines are ridiculous sometimes. Why have 7 check stands with 1-2 open daily? Especially on a Saturday/Sunday. And most of the time I see employees casually talking to one another while customers are impatiently waiting to be helped. LINES were so long for checking out and there were workers in the store and 4 registers with no one working at them. There must have been a minimum of 40 people waiting in line to check out. This has happened many times and I have left the store each time and went elsewhere. My time is more important than saving a couple of dollars. read more

Despite a clean atmosphere and friendly service from my cashier, walking into the place to overhear the other cashier (Jamie, with her nametag upside down) loudly discussing with the loss prevention officer that she was in a bad mood and the next person to say one wrong word to her would get punched in the face doesn't exactly instill a comfortable, welcoming vibe in me as I went through the store. I love shopping at Ross for anything, great prices in woman clothes shoes etc. my only problem is finding regular men's clothes. They do not carry too many choices. All the youth and men's clothes are mixed together so it makes it hard to find what your looking for. To me that's lazy and they need to fix it. Went to the other location it was the same problem. They also have THE MOST TINIEST AISLES EVERRRR and people are rude and plant their cart right in the middle and when they see you, they don't bother to move. Bad experience. I took a white long dress to the fitting room. The lady told me to place it on the rod and step away. I asked if i could hold it up at the hem so it wouldn't drag on the floor. She said no. "It's store policy so the cameras can see." So the dress got a nice gray stripe on it that i couldn't brush off. It fit perfect. But i couldn't buy it. I told her i didn't appreciate the dirt on the dress and told her it was terrible customer service not to take more care with white garments especially. She called the store manager to report me as a rude customer. When i got to the cash register to pay for another item i was met with a manager apparently who admonished me and proceeded to defend the clerk who has apparently worked there for a very long time, and was "just doing her job." She told me that the clerk said i could hold the dress up to keep it clean which was a straight up lie. She made me drop the dress and let it fall across the floor. I feel like she thought i was a thief or something. She was very aggressive about making me stand back so the cameras could see me. She was not a nice person. So if that's the experience you want, go for it. Not my cup of tea so i won't be back, ever. I went to TJ Maxx for a completely different and pleasant experience. Ross has a lot to learn about making customers feel welcome and appreciated for doing business in their stores. You don't need to be making your customers feel like you think they're criminals from the get go. read more

A blonde lady with a lot of make up dragged my dress across the floor at the fitting room to hand it up on the rack for store policy. when I asked to hold up the bottom so the WHITE dress wouldn't drag on the floor she asked me to step away for store policy. I told her it was bad customer service, and that I have worked in retail. The customer is always right. Hands down. Someone took my number off of my door as well and when I said that she harassed me. It caused a scene and I left with nothing, because when I tried on the white dress there was a giant grey smear on the bottom. Never coming back for that experience. read more

Left my keys in a shopping cart, instead of the cashiers calling over the intercom and solving the problem, they ignored my request, and had me still searching for them. 45 mins later , a customer brings me my keys. Im pissed off! The cashiers should be wrote up for this selfish act. read more

Ross is always a hit or miss but personally I love this location. It is always clean and organized, I've been to some icky ones! Puyallup has easy parking and keeps things looking pretty. Usually not enough people to check out but I find that to be pretty common for all Ross stores. Overall I've found some amazing things here and reguarly are complemented on them :) read more

I used go to Ross a lot because I like to dye my own clothes. It was nice to be able to pick up things for cheaper AND try them on. A certain dressing room attendant today around 4pm was incredibly rude. I'm not going to name her name, but she was just absolutely dreadful. I realize people have bad days and I hope that's all it was. I hope that she's happier tomorrow, too. But man, you can't treat customers like that. And I wasn't the only one complaining: the people behind me in line were complaining about her, as were the ones behind them. Ross is sort of notorious for acting like you're a thief. I doubt I"ll ever understand why they treat their customers so poorly- and this seems to be like a nationwide policy. It's just exceptionally bad here. The cashier was very sweet, though, and I applaud her for putting up with all of us saying "hey, that girl in the back was really rude". In all honesty, I probably won't be back. There's other Rosses around. But again? I'm pretty tired of Ross's attitude toward it's own customers, too. And this particular employee in the back just magnified it. read more
