When we told the salesman we were picking up a rental, he was dismissive, immediately questioning if we had received an email confirmation despite us already having been told the item was overnighted and arriving today. He looked in the back, failed to find it, and then had to check boxes of orders that had just arrived--which should have been processed and on the rack already. The most frustrating part was the blatant lack of regard for our time. I explicitly informed the salesman that we were on a strict time constraint as we were leaving town today. Despite this, he began helping other customers while we were left waiting. He literally ignored us for at least 30 minutes to assist others. When he finally decided to look in the boxes upfront, he found our suit immediately. This entire ordeal, which should have taken five minutes, turned into a 45-minute nightmare. The salesman appeared to have no idea what he was doing and offered no help or urgency during our wait. While we are relieved the suit was eventually found, the level of service was unacceptable. We will not be returning as customers.

I kindly left a voicemail for a refund yet she still did not respond. I called this morning now (day AFTER prom) and I more firmly asked for my refund, at which point she answered the phone and told me my son's suit has been in her shop for several days!! I became angry because she lied to me either yesterday, when I had her in the phone the afternoon of the prom and she told me the "shipment" won't be in until 2pm, or she's lying now. Either way, I want her to hand us a suit or our money! I've given her every chance to make this right yet she yelled at me on the phone saying she "don't do refunds" and hung up on me. While they have some nice,…read morediscounted prices compared to a regular Nordstrom's I typically don't find anything that I can live without. I y=usually am more apt to find something to my liking at a regular Nordstrom's but I wouldn't quite count myself as a regular shopper there either. By and large it's more of a preference thing really more than anything else. While I do love acquiring clothes...and from an observer's point of view that may look like I am not picky at all with what I get I actually am more picky than it would look. So that really has nothing to do with quality of product of service really. Just preference. Moving away from preference however is the parking to get to the cluster of stores where this store is at. It's often a tight squeeze and and very congested to navigate through here. Other driver's get mixed up at the Stop signs or simply don't care and one can risk a collision. That's why if I go to this sector of stores I park over in the main mall parking lot and get in and out from the main mall routes rather than navigating through all the pedestrians and cars. So if there is anything that causes actual frustration it's that.

I brought Gabriel a designer suit that still didn't feel right after store alterations. He was pretty honest--said the best it could become was a 7/10--and then went to work. He adjusted the shoulders, chest, sleeves, lapels, which required him to move every single button. It was literally a completely different suit. And for the first time, it actually fit the way it should. Since then, I've gone back for five custom suits, multiple shirts, and my favorite, an overcoat (which I'd avoided for years because of off-the-rack fit issues). Every item has come out perfectly tailored. If fit has always been a compromise for you, it's worth seeing what Gabriel can do. Adding some photos, but I'm not a fashion/textiles photographer. It's harder than it looks.

My posture is very upright and that just makes the chest issue even more difficult. There aren't many places in the US outside of New York that do real bespoke -- patterns cut from scratch. I'm glad I found Gabriel. He has a great understanding of classic men's style and proportions. The suit he made for me is very comfortable and continues to get better as the canvas takes the shape of my body. I keep looking for areas to make micro improvements for my next project with him. But to be honest, the fit is so good I'm not sure there's much to change other than experimenting with other styles, like a double breasted. I plan on commissioning something from him every year as long as I stay in Washington. The super tight, short jacket with the bum exposed, with skinny lapels was trending for a while on off the rack clothing. Even some made to measure places make suits like this. If you are looking for a suit to wear for the next 10 years, I encourage you to give Gabriel a try and have him make something timeless for you.
