Well, it didn't quite live up to my dreams. It seems they have a large inventory of full grown trees - great if you are a landscaper or homeowner buying plants for a major backyard project. They specialize in Asian gardens. It started raining heavily during my visit, so I ducked into the greenhouse. Imagine my surprise when I realized that the "roof" was open netting that let in the rain. Great for thirsty plants and not so much for me, lol. They didn't seem to have much selection at all for houseplants, so I left empty handed. Still, I'm glad I took the chance to explore.

They had so many interesting things I wanted to purchase for my home! Their displays have really good ideas for decorations and such, and if I only lived close, I might have made out with some good buys! But there is one close to home, and now, it's my go-to not just for home decor, but if I had the need for crafty things. And the staff are incredibly nice. The gentleman we purchased it from was wonderful, patient and nice. A few weeks back we went back to buy a newer mattress and the man we purchased from seemed to not know what he was talking about, and had zero personality or interest in helping. We had to make a choice on a mattress in a hurry with little help from him. Once we purchased it, we loaded up our mattress and took it home. We slept on it one night and it was terrible. So we called the next day and asked if we could switch it out. The woman who answered also seemed agitated we called, was rude on the phone, offered us no option for replacement and just basically told us to kick rocks. I am incredibly surprised by the behavior of both of them, especially since they didn't want to even attempt to help us. My husband hasn't slept properly on this mattress in weeks. I plan on reporting them since they won't help in an exchange. I wish the person who ran it before was still working there. My husband has a bad back and neck and we are not a family of means. I wish we could get help.

We were a bit pressed for time, so we didn't get to really look at everything, other than to take a quick look through the warehouse. The warehouse is a real sensory overload. They also have yard sculpture pieces outside that I did not look at. They have good prices on some really good looking cabinets, as well as doors of all kinds. We have a older house, and so will be slowly renovating. DHW will be our first priority of places to come to for that vintage look, as well as the current stuff. Maria was very nice to show me around, and we were stunned at how much stuff they have.

We bought three rooted in garden boxes through the City of Allen earlier this spring. They helpfully post updated plant stock on Facebook, which helped in my thinking through my purchase before I even arrived. I was able to talk to staff and get some good input on my plans. It's not a huge shop but the selection is incredible. It's not often I'd drive 1.5 hr round trip, but I will again to shop at Rooted In.
