The quality of their clothes are very nice, and the people here are so sweet! It's visually beautiful too, all the clothes are sorted by color! They also have jewelry, bath and body, and other little things throughout the shop! The prices are a little higher but you're getting exactly what you pay for. The only time Ive had a clothing item from here not work out for me is because of my own user error. (I accidentally ran my sweater in the dryer when I wasn't paying attention lol.) If you're thinking about going somewhere for back to school clothes, a dress for date night, or any other reason, definitely give them a try!

You walk in and immediately feel like you're in the real deal: a workshop, not a gimmick. The pricing alone makes this a must-stop. Very fair, extremely competitive, and in many cases significantly better than what you'll find online or in western stores. Not to mention, you're getting hats straight from the source. What really set the experience apart, though, was the service. My wife and I were taken care of by Alfredo, and he was phenomenal. There was a slight language barrier between him and me, but they handled it gracefully, never rushed, always attentive, and they made sure communication was smooth by assisting with translation as needed. You could tell he took pride in what he does and wanted to get it right. The shaping, fit, and attention to detail here were outstanding. You're not just buying a hat; you're getting craftsmanship done right in front of you. Watching them steam, shape, and customize is its own experience. Hours are good, staff hustles, and the vibe is classic Texas hospitality. In short: huge selection, great prices, real people doing real craftsmanship. The new Southern Roots is a remodeled former vintage home, next to "SERVE by Hallie B." boutique. Great neighbors! Southern Roots offers style for both guys, and the gals: classic looks, casual comfort, and outdoors wear by Patagonia, and other brand names. Classic Birkensock sandals in many colors and designs. Water wear sandals & shoes. I bought a Patagonia "NOH2O" rainproof hooded windbreaker with big waterproof pockets that has done the job when needed, really came in handy. Accessories, hats, sunglasses, accent jewelry, socks, gloves, and more. Staff was pleasant and helpful during my visits. The new Roots at 505 N. Goliad has it's own parking in back, and along the north side. Marked ADA parking space & ramp entry into Roots.
