However, no one working there…read morethat day spoke to me the entire time I was browsing in the shop (I finally asked if I could try some things on!). The staff women seemed to be swooning over one customer who said she held a position of status in the medical field. I felt that I didn't command the same respect or attention somehow (they'd be surprised to learn what I do in the world..) and felt rather dismissed. This place, at least on this day, seemed to have that snooty "size you up" upon entry feeling to it. I did find one article I loved and so purchased it- but was quite relieved to get out of there and back onto the sunny street!
