They rush you even if you're not done at the counter. Cashiers are trained and allowed to call the next customer without giving you your bag nor receipt first. One girl behind me said, you're not even finish with her first and you're calling me. Worst is they make you put your credit card even if they are not finished ringing all your purchase thus you don't know exactly what you are paying for till you get the receipt! This has happened to me twice so it must be something management is allowing their cashiers to do! Today I was looking for jewelry located behind the cashiers. Can't call anyone as they were busy cashiering. Went to look for items in my shopping list and returned to the jewelry counter. Someone in the counter who is simply clearing the hangers said she can help me but to my surprise a supervisor butted in said "she can look at the jewelry when she is next in line to pay at the cashier! Omg! Time wasters! No wonder they can't manage their lines and then rush you to insert your credit card even before they finish ringing all your items! Ross is done in my book! read more

I love Ross but this store always has the worst lines it's backed up all the way to the back of the store. And it wouldn't be so annoying if you didn't see like four people walking around the store versus them just opening registers and clearing the lines. While this one is closest to my house sometimes I drive up to Oldsmar because it's just a nicer store. read more

Needed a box and colored pens and found them here. Is the store in somewhat of a disarray? Yes. Is there a security guard standing at the front to stop people from stealing? Yes. Does the cashier look like she hates her life? Yes. But I found exactly what I was looking for, so that gets an A-OK from me. We started at the Dollar Tree looking for a cute box and colored pens and struck out. I really didn't want to pack a car hating child to go to Target when I still had to go to PDQ and they were in opposite directions, so I decided to try my luck at Ross. I know, most people shop at Ross for clothes, but their home goods section is rapidly expanding and they have great options. I found an awesome box and colored pens - neither were cheap looking, but they were cheap! Total win. I got to see the security guard in action when the cashier thought a family was trying to steal something. It was a miscommunication, but I've never seen a loss prevention officer before. It made me a little sad that they don't trust their patrons, but I'm sure they also have good reason. The cashier was actually super nice to my son, so there's that. We were in and out relatively quickly. Both the workers and patrons were friendly (they let me cut in line when they saw my son starting to flail). I will definitely come back to this Ross when I'm looking for something random. read more

It may not look pretty, but it definitely gets the job done. Many a time would there be when i run in there right before the gym because i need something (ie ear buds, headphones, and most recently, shoes to exercise in because the ones i had on worn down completely on the heel) and you actually find really good deals on otherwise expensive items. Two things I've gotten here were a pair of Philips headphones that are super comfy, still in good condition, and still work. My most recent buy was a pair of knockoff (or so i assume) Skechers that i spotted and fit great. Sometimes i'll feel like browsing a little, and they actually have a decent selection of shoes, bags, and dresses. Great place to go too during the holidays for rare, gourmet, and discounted finds. Next time I need athletic gear, I'll be sure to check with them first to avoid spending a fortune. Chances are, i might walk off with a little more than what i was looking for. read more

My cousin was in town for an event and needed a formal dress at the last minute. I didn't expect to find anything in Ross, but they had what she needed, in the right color, for $30. I found a neat little painting for under $10. In general Ross isn't the most organized store, but you can find great designer items at a really good price. Come prepared for a scavenger hunt, but if you have the patience, it might be worthwhile. read more

Hello, I walked into the Ross store on Hillsborough Florida the same shopping center as chilis. I have walked into the store at 10:54 to pick up a quick item when I was yelled at by the STORE MANAGER by the name of Ana. As soon as I walked in she screamed were closed and I told her I didn't like the way she addressed me and she continued to argue me down aggressively. I would never spend my money at Ross again since this is how Ross trains there managers. The employees were apologizing to me along with the security guard. She made me feel very unwelcomed and I didn't nothing but try to patronize the business. I will be contacting the better business bureau to report this behavior. read more

Contrary to other reviews, this is NOT the worst Ross out there. Sure it has it's issues, and yes, like any other major discount retailers, the clothing is a bit jumbled and discombobulated. But for the most part it's an OK shopping experience. The Loss Prevention person hangs out near the door, is more like a Walmart greeter, if you ask me. Yes, their presence is seen, but what do they actually do? Not a lot, really. Nothing they CAN do, honestly. Since the holiday hours have been extended, they're currently open til 12:30 am or 1:30 am on any given night. This means, no long waiting lines to check out. Heck! I walked away with 4 new dresses last night, all of them looked great. I'll continue to shop here when I can! read more

Store has more security than cashiers. 30 plus ppl in line and only 2 cashiers working. What an earth you need security here? I have to edit my review after finally paid at the cashier. She was so bored and her attitude was ridiculous. Absolute disgrace!! As I was in line I had the chance to watch how the employees were doing there job. If I would be the owner, none of them would have been so lucky to stay here one more minute working or pretend to be working. Ross! I would check twice who I hire. The ONLY reason I don't shop here more often is that I always find too much to buy. Sure, the store is in complete chaos, but you can't beat the prices for new clothing. Their selection is huge! Almost overwhelmingly so. I definitely appreciate finding Petite sizes here. Plus the departments & sections are well-labeled, as are the individual hangers, so browsing is easy. Surprisingly, with all the mayhem of customers here, I don't usually notice too many articles misplaced. The fitting room is gigantic! Tiny stalls, but LOTS of them. However, there's usually only one attendant, counting items, so typically there's a bit of a wait. Also, the checkout area can be tedious. But, the line moves quickly. Don't forget Ross carries items for your home at great prices, too. Other locations may be larger & less cluttered, but this one packs a lot into the space, and it's not far from my house. read more

I get Ross is a discounted store, but does that mean that the service has to be so poor? I stood in line for 20 minutes and once I got to the register the cashier looked at me and said "Take the hangers off the clothing" and that's wasn't the first time. So now we are employed to assist with removing hangers. If I want to I will help, it's certainly not a requirement or is it??? Ross leadership needs to get this resolved it's horrible. read more

If we didn't have to rate it with stars I wouldn't. This Ross location does not deserve a rating. It has been the nastiest Ross store for years. It seems like this is the location that all the other Ross stores send their unwanted clothes to. It is nasty inside, (nasty as in a hurricane hit it) unorganized, overpacked with too much, things flow in to the floor, no one literally no one speaks English. The music is loud the customers are louder. You can tell that the employees are not happy working there. But like I said this is been going on for years apparently Ross doesn't care to fix the issue. they just need an true overhaul read more

The store is dirty, customer service is horrible, and the items, what little they have, are nothing that you can not find at a better store. Stay away from this store. This place is great if your looking for cheap things. They don't just have a bunch of cloths here. You can also find shoes, toys, and a bunch of home and kitchen stuff. Lots of things here are brand name and I'm always surprised by the deals that can be found here. Sometimes ill find the original tag still on some of the items, and they are usually twice as much as the Ross tag, now thats a deal. The lies are a bit small and stuffed, but i guess they have a large inventory to get out. I gave this place a 4 and not a 3 because it feels cleaner than other Ross's and it doesn't have that weird thrift shop feel like some other places do. All in all, don't be afraid to take a gander over here. Think of it as a store where its always black Friday...for the most part. read more

I tend to find myself shopping at Ross weekly & always find (something ). Prices are great! Store can be a little messy at times due to customers but their customer service & staff makes up for it! Surprisingly this location has long hours & is always busy. So if your in the area I do definitely recommend them. Why 4 stars & not 5? Well because they only have 1 restroom available towards the back of the store by the fitting room. 1 bathroom really? ! There's definitely room for improvement in the hardware of the shelf display- bathroom condition (need baby station). Again it's Ross! Great deals - good & speedy - accurate checkout. read more

My husband and I were able to find quite a lot of good deals here! My only complaint would be it seemed to be a little dirty. The employees acted like they wanted to chat with one another rather than provide good customer service. The lady that checked us out said one thing to us and that was saying she could help who was next and handed us our receipt and said the same thing to someone else rather than have a good day or such. read more

Store was filthy dirty. Dust on all the purses and sunglasses. Nothing organized i.e. shoes scattered and not sorted by size, clothing not on correct size rack, dozens of panties on the ground under their rack, a large portion of the clothing hanging half off the hanger. Does anyone work here to put things away, sort or organize? The dressing room was dirty and floors were gross. Plus the dressing attendant was just plain rude and unpleasant. I greeted her with a smile and a hello and she gave me a scowl, didn't utter any kind of response and wouldn't make eye contact. The gentleman at the cashier was very friendly and professional. Somehow, one of the items I was returning loss it's tag, and I must return it. A cashier that was very rude checked my receipt, and said it was not sold at the store. This was odd, as I bought this item with other clothing, which were validated. I was not expecting this much horrible service. Heck, I might not even go to this place again! read more

Went there hoping to find a specific pair of shoes. The time was 11:40 and we read on google that it closed at 12. We walked in were told it was closing momentarily and I replied we'd be out before close. Went straight to the shoes and at 15 till close we're told on the intercom that we needed to put our stuff back or on layaway so we could pick it up the next day since registers were now closed. Really frustrating especially since half the lights were off. Is this typical? read more
