I was still in college the last time I came through this particular Ross - so it's been beyond forever (waaaayy before my Yelp years!) Since I was driving through, I thought a stop might just bring back some memories. And do some shopping, why not. I feel like it has gotten a little bigger but a bit more cramped - then again, my memory is unreliable. The good thing is I found everything I needed and then some at some serious bargain prices. This store is NOT HONEST and engages in BAIT AND SWITCH practices. I personally witnessed an employee remove a price tag from a watch that was clearly marked at $19.99 and then refuse to honor it. When I pointed out the posted price, the employee flat out lied and said, "We don't sell watches at that price here." They KNEW the price was there. They SAW it. They REMOVED it. Then they acted like nothing happened. This wasn't a mistake--this was DECEITFUL and DELIBERATE. When I asked to speak with the manager, I received NO ACCOUNTABILITY. They were just as dismissive and acted like I was the problem. I even wrote to Ross Corporate to report it, and a representative named Fernando called me back on October 5, 2023. He was EXTREMELY RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and DISRESPECTFUL. He interrupted me, refused to listen, and said he wouldn't even discuss company policy or the law with me. I was SHOCKED that someone like that is allowed to represent the company. Let me be VERY CLEAR--this is NOT just poor customer service. This is a VIOLATION of California consumer protection laws. This is still my favorite Ross store hands down. Yes it's extremely busy and crowded and before Thanksgiving, it's no exception. Even with the packed parking and long lines, the item selection for me personally cannot be beat. Today I bought a matching set, pajamas for this cold weather, and this adorable jacket. I have a bunch of clothing but because the selection here is insane and very reasonably priced, I cannot help myself. I also frequent other Ross stores and they're all very busy and crowded so the other reviews make no sense to me whatsoever. The security guard is always welcoming when entering and when exiting I always appreciate them checking my receipt to ensure that items are matched. AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH Hire more damn employees! And if you ever do, train them to have personalities, be courteous, try to damn crack a smile, even if a fake one. We used to have a saying in retail: "act as if". Basically, act as if everything is going great and you'll keep your paycheck. At this location, you can act like you hate your job but apparently you still have job security. The store *always* looks like a bomb hit it, no matter what area you are in. The merchandise isn't checked for damages and *if* you can find someone to let them know, you get an "okay" and they walk away. Holy merde! Yelp suggests commenting on "selection". I feel bad for whoever owns this Ross because they lose business because of their employees. Many times have I went and put away my purchases because I did not have time to sit in line for 20 minutes. You can see other employees walking around the store, stocking it, but only two people up at the register. And then when you are shopping, they are so concerned with stocking items that even if you are interested and want to buy something, you are not able to because they block access and don't let the customer have first priority so they lose sales that way as well. read more

Absolutely horrifying experience. On Feb 20, 2025, I purchased a backpack from this location. On March 16, my 7-year-old daughter found a black sunglasses case inside a zippered pouch. Inside the case was a bag of illegal drugs. The trauma of this moment is hard to put into words. Had she opened the bag and ingested the contents--easily mistaken for rock candy--she could have died. I had unknowingly carried that backpack through Disneyland, my workplace, and our home for nearly a month. The risk of false arrest, exposure, and harm to my daughter was real and terrifying. I immediately contacted Ross. On April 1, I received a dismissive response stating that Ross "does not sell products containing illegal drugs" and demanding that I prove someone at Ross put the drugs in the backpack. No apology. No concern for my daughter's safety. No guidance on what to do with the drugs. Just corporate deflection and zero accountability. I sent follow-up emails on April 1, April 4, and April 9--all ignored. Not a single additional reply. For a national retailer to respond with silence after a customer finds drugs in a product they sold is beyond unacceptable. It's dangerous. Ross has shown no interest in investigating how this happened, no commitment to ensuring it won't happen again, and no care for the well-being of its customers. Parents, families, anyone concerned about safety: think twice before shopping at Ross. If this had ended differently, I could be planning a funeral or wrongfully in jail. I'm a 61 year old lady and today, January 23rd 2024 I went shopping at the Ross located on 1400 Lincoln Blvd, Venice, CA 90291, where I used to shop back in 2005 to 2010. I walked to Ross today to buy some items for my kitchen, and because I was walking and I had to carry the items in my backpack, while I was waiting in line, I organized the stuff to fit inside my backpack in a way that the cashier could use the barcode machine without the need to move anything. When she called me, I nicely asked her to do so, but she not only ignored my request, but also moved everything I had organized in a perfect position to put inside my bag, and removed the cardboard that comes with the barcodes to use her scanner. It looked like she really worked hard to do the opposite of what I asked her to do. Right after she did it she threw everything in my direction and called "Next in line"! I hardly had time to put my stuff in my bag, and she got upset and grabbed my purchased items and told me to move away from there because someone else was waiting. I was shocked with her attitude and disrespect to a customer who had done nothing but asking her nicely to do something more than reasonable. That young woman should be anywhere but near a job that deals with people, especially old people. Ross has always been my ultimate favorite store for years and I had never had such a bad experience like today. I have a picture of the receipt so that the manager can recognize the employee and do something about it. Very unprofessional . I came to return some earrings I bought because the stone fell out . I had the tag and everything but no receipt . The lady who helped me right away was like no no no no and started speaking Spanish behind my back . This was the cashier try. Went to the security and the. Again more Spanish . All I hear is no no no no. Like they judged me right away . I wonder what they were saying about me . The cashier had it out for me right away because some other ladies tried to cut me . Also Spanish speaking . Long story short they called in the boss guy and he refused my return for faulty merchandise . I admit I had no receipt but he didn't bother to look it up because it still had the tags on it he could've checked but they were already hell bent on not giving me my return . Terrible customer service. The fitting room attendant on duty at 5:30 pm on a Monday evening demanding I have a hanger for one of the teams. Still a wonderful location, employees are always nice and management as well, but be nice to everyone who works there. Unfortunately Venice location is initiated with homeless and people who are disrespectful with everyone at this location being rude and such. It is impossible that people who work there can be helpful with everyone when dealing with homeless and so many people that are not nice and theft. This is my go to Ross and I'm there all the time but my mother was visiting and we stopped in here recently. The next day my mother was limping a little and when I asked why she told me a worker had ran over her foot with a rack. Later she showed me and her pinky toe was purple and blue. I then recalled a few months earlier an older woman working had pushed a rack into my foot in a way that I brushed off as oddly aggressive but an accident. Truly was a terrible and displeasing experience at my Ross visit today on 4/5/2025. Firstly, the cashier was very rude and impolite and rushing. She is a short middle eastern woman. When she finished ringing me up, I walked away from the register and within 5 secs I noticed she didn't put my receipt in the bag. I went back to the register and she said that she handed to me but she didn't. I told her check the cameras cause you didn't!! Going with me back and forth about a receipt she didn't give me!! Totally gas lighted me for 20-30 mins of my time. I was looking for the receipt and she was saying that she wasn't able to reprint it. LIES! THE SUPERVISOR was able to reprint it with no problem after 20 mins of my time wasted! And as soon the supervisor printed the receipt she was able to find the original receipt! It was behind the cash register! And now with the Ross in Venice you need to show your receipt to the security guard. What if I wasn't able to find the receipt!!?! Would I have stayed there!?! NO! But I'm pretty sure she does this to other customers often. That's very unprofessional, negligence, unethical work behavior. read more

Edit/follow up: Spoke to a customer service representative about this issue about a few weeks ago & tried denying any wrongdoing on the store's end. They were trying to blame the bank & myself for the problem. They kept saying that I must enter a pin or that I was entering the pin wrong. I said that I DON'T have a pin & it is ran as credit at ALL places. Explained that I never had issues with the card at any place except Ross for the last few months. I said that I can use it perfectly fine at TJ Maxx, Marshals, Burlington's, & other similar places like Ross with NO issues. The representative kept on saying that it's my fault & the banks fault. So I just ended the call. Usually I had decent experiences at this Ross (among other Ross locations too). Most of the employees are fine & are great. But last time was my worst experience. I went in about a month ago to see what they had. Spent a little looking at the different items. Eventually found 3 items to get. The line was slow since there were only two checkouts open. Anyways I finally got to the checkout to purchase the items. Swiped my card through & it went to a blank screen for a few seconds before returning to the price. I swiped it again & it said "Not authorized". I tried once again & said the same thing. Then I told the employee that you need to enter a code to approve the card (had it happen before at this location about a month before & another employee did it to approve the transaction). He said "I can't do that". I asked why & he said the same thing again. I asked if he could get another employee or manager to come help & said "I can't do that". I asked why he didn't want to get another employee or a manager. And again he said "he couldn't do it". The card is a credit card & can be used everywhere except restaurants & casinos (which Ross isn't clearly). I said that I wanted to purchase those things & needed him to either enter the code or get someone else to help and again he said "He can't do that". He tried saying that I either didn't have money or to not buy the items. Also he kept messing up with the price. It is $10 for all items including tax. It went to $18 then to $14 then to $18 & lastly $22. It ended up going in circles with him not helping. I don't know if they get bonuses for certain amounts of sales they make or he was just being lazy or if he wanted those things. So I said forget it. So I left to double check my balance. Went outside for a few minutes to check and had over $500 on the card for the week (the purchase price was about $10, so I don't know what their issue is) & that Ross was approved too. Anyways I went back in & asked the security to get the manager. The manager was no help. I explained what happened & needed someone to just enter the code so I can purchase the items. She thought that I wanted to return the items from what I said. I said no & had to repeat it again a few times before she kind of understood. I showed her the card & explained that it can be used basically anywhere except restaurants & casinos. She was persistent that I either didn't have the money (then why would I travel over there & attempt to purchase something?) or that the bank was the issue. I tried asking her few different times "how that's been an problem for a few months now & how that particular employee (it was a middle aged woman) from a month ago was able to ring me up with the code"? All she kept saying was that it must be my bank & not their system without answering the question. I even told her that I could show her the card balance and that Ross was fine. She claims that she couldn't look. So I was getting upset with the employee & the manager for their actions and lack of explanations, so I left empty handed again. Been shopping at Ross for about 4 years now & the last 7 months or so have been a total mess with THEIR system. I have talked and had conference calls with the bank & they have said that it's not the banks end. So it's solely on Ross to get the new system. They lost around $300-500 or more in sales because of this & they still deny that it is their fault. Until I get a proper response from them & they fix & invest into new servers correctly, I won't be coming back. read more

This is a reasonable Ross store. Not very large, but still a good enough selection of women's clothing. I didn't check out the men's or kid's sections. Home goods section was small, and shoe section really had nothing in the 11-13 size range even though they did have a sign indicating that they had a spot for such shoes if they ever had any in stock. The floors were clean, the clothes were generally organized, and the women's fitting room was entirely reasonable, including real doors with latches on them. None of the curtains for doors stuff I've seen in some other Ross stores (with larger theft problems than this one?) Anyway, I quickly found a half dozen blouses that interested me and I bought three of them. It was a very successful trip in my book! read more

My literal watch got snatched off my wrist half way through my visit. Wtf. I checked the jacket sleeves of items i tried on - the floor. When i asked loss prevention to check the cameras they said its not the best quality footage and they cant make it out. They literally have 100 cameras... why even have them??? At the end my girlfriend asked them furiously if this happens alot and they literally said yes. People apparently 'lose' their phones, wallets, and all sorts of valuables. Los angeles. I'm going to give 3 stars for manager Carla. Earlier I wrote a review on Ross on W3rd Street; a store I will not go back to. This morning I had to check out this store since my yoga class was delayed. I found an adorable table, asked the employee if she could help me and her answer was "it's not my department.." so I got upset, schlepped the table myself. I guess the manager heard about it and came to see me. Manager Carla apologized for the staff member's reaction and explained there's simply not enough staff on the floor. Mmmmm, this girl was on the floor, but ok, I'll give the manager the benefit of the doubt. I purchased quite a few other items and this manager was giving such excellent customer service. The security man -not his job- helped me to load everything in my car. This place is at 8:15am very organized, not a mess at all. Manager Carla deserves a compliment with her service. There is a sales lady at the check out that does not give you a receipt and one cannot return anything without it. This time she opened up a security package with gloves and one glove fell out...When I came home there was only one glove.She dropped the glove and didn't bother to pick it up!! Also someone should call the Health department because it's illegal to not have the use of the bathroom in a large store like that. I went there last week to shop they don't let people use the restroom , when i asked I'm in the middle of my shopping they said go home or use Ralphs restroom . i comeback to talk to the manager the security didn't let me talk to her/him ! This is one of the better Ross locations. I found a ton of great home and decor items here as well as several pairs of shoes for my son. Check out line was not bad either, but I would recommend coming here early morning, late evening and during the week to avoid a long wait. I love this location, yes it's busy.. But it has so much more than other Ross stores I don't even mind if it's messy, it's Ross But they do lack in customer service compared to other Ross Aside from never letting you use their restroom, the tone they tell you to go somewhere else. When shopping around, most employees never smile or look content and instead look like they hate working here, except the security guy. Security guy is friendly and welcoming. They have huge collections of clothes, jewelry, perfumes, shoes, home decor, bags, suitcases and more. This location is one of my favorite because it's pretty big and there is free parking outside. They also carry pet supplies and food. I give them 4 out of 5 because sometimes open one register only even when there is a line of people waiting to pay. read more

If you're on a manic spending spree, this is the store to go to. Mainly because the staff is so great. A special shout out to Shahin, Massi, and Sahar. Not only were they helpful in letting me shop til I dropped, but were equally gracious about letting me return unused items: with tags still on them, with receipts, within 30 days. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow *. Swooped in for a gander @ some holiday dresses. With a work party to attend in less than a week, I set out to see what I could find. I guess my timing was good. No I didn't strike gold, though I made a sort of shopping touchdown. How's that, you ask? I found 4 dresses, each only $25-30. Of the 4 of them, 2 were velvet (1 black & 1 red). The 3rd, an elegant tone on tone black. The remaining frock, a deep purple satin number. I suppose that is not nearly enough to last me through the upcoming holiday parties :) Besides clothes, they carry shoes, not just any shoes. I saw some COACH shoes. Even though I didn't find any shoes that fit me, a girl nearby played dress up. She cracked me up as she pranced about, with her "heels" on. She pretended to be much older, until her "kill the joy no holiday spirit " mom burst out of nowhere & made her stop. I was also on the hunt for a bottom heavy weight (aka does not tip over) type of vase. I did not see one I liked. Though there were other areas which cried out to me. A bedding department, complete with comforter & sheet sets. A culinary department, filled with pots/pans/glasses/utensils. Seen from afar, sniffed up close, the almond scented soap most of all beckoned forth in a manner good enough to eat. Across the store, my eyes averted the purses. Enough rambling about the merchandise. There was plenty of parking, the staff were nice enough to give some advice by the dressing room & in the aisles, such as "that makes you look old, that color looks better on you. skip or get that." They were helpful, honest & most importantly tactful. From now until Xmas, they are open 0900-2300 (11 p.m). After that, they will resume 0930-2130 (9:30 p.m.) read more

Do not buy any lotions or shampoos orfacial items there. Every one that I used has a weird smell because these products have been sitting on their shelves too long. They keep them around. They won't even give you a refund or credit for it. It's nasty. Also the staff in the Wilshire blvd store are really too paranoid about the mask thing. They act as if Covid started yesterday. HORRIBLE STORE. I called to find a matching home decor item, and they said they had it and would hold it. Took me 45 minutes in traffic to get there, and the clerk said it was no longer there. I shop at this store a lot because they always have more things than other Ross, but this is my second time I need to use the restroom so I can continue shopping in peace. But Every time I ask for the restroom, the lady at the outfit rooms says "it's not working" I asked back in December when COVID was way worse and I understood, but now I ask again and they still say it's not working and it's March, it's a joke. For that reason I left the store and rather go shop somewhere else. It's simple as letting a customer use the restroom and let them continue their shopping. I was a this store a few times and I asked to use the bathroom and they told me no!! How can they expect you to spend money and go back if they don't let you use the bathroom, I love shopping and I'll spend hours and money but when it comes up that I have to leave the store and go to another stores to use the bathroom. I thought that this Ross was pretty average when it comes to the deals, selection, and organization. Of course you expect all of the Ross' to be disorganied because part of the fun is wondering what you might find. I originally went with the intentions of getting a dress, but I couldn't find one that suited my style and that was up to my par. Instead, I ended up buying something that I didn't think I would buy at a Ross. One of the good things about this Ross is that it doesn't share a parking lot with any other malls so there is free parking and it is easy to find since the only other people there are those that are also Ross Shoppers. read more
