This Ross location is one of my favorite in the area. I try not to visit during lunch or dinner hours because the parking lot is full from all the other restaurants in the area. One of my favorite things about this Ross location is that it's cleaner and more organized than the other Ross locations. Also, it is located in Walnut Creek, which means that the tax rate is less than the neighboring cities which makes your good deals even more affordable! The buyers at this location, have a better eye than some of the other locations and you're able to find really good deal sometimes on really nice items. read more

Lots of toys and pet items. In a slower strip mall that is more quiet which might be a plus. Store floor could use a little mop action but other than that friendly people work here. Probably the best place to buy rugs for low price. I ran my hand through them and thought about how my pig pig would have loved them. read more

The 5 stars are specifically for the man working as loss prevention tonight on 11/12/25. He was extremely kind and welcoming when we walked into the store. As we walked out with our new rug, he told us that he hopes it will tie our room together. He also made sure to tell us to have a great night! Just an absolutely kind person, and it is very rare to come by people like that these days. Something as simple as his kindness made my partner and I's night that much better. I came in this Ross store to find some Christmas gifts! This was, without a doubt, the cleanest, most organized Ross store I have ever been in!! It was also very well stocked, even during the holidays. With all that organization, the gifts were easy to find. Even the checkout line was quick. I was coming to this location to meet a friend and buy some luggage for an upcoming trip. One of the pieces of luggage had no tag on it. It was actually more of a bag than luggage. It had super heroes all over it. The big bag was $49.99 and the smaller size bag had no tag. Which was not even half the size! They wanted to charge me $29.99 but that was the price of a BeBe bag. That is what they used as a price comparison. All the bags similar to they one I bought were less than $20.00. Which wasn't a huge deal but the manger was RUDE and very unfriendly!!! She was not helpful or even polite!!! Which is sad and unprofessional! Since she's supposed to be representing the best of the company Ross! The employees are were actually very nice and we're trying to help me. This is why I never come to the Walnut Creek location ever! The few times I've come here... I've always had a bad experience! The staff in the store is very rude, agressive and defiant. They almost hurt my grand daughter with their shelving being rough in the isle. They were careless about customers on the floor. They did not like anyone to use the bathroom and were rude and agressive about it or when my family was trying clothes. The two ladies at the dressing rooms were super rude and unprofessional to my family and myself . I asked if I could have a manager accompany me to the bathroom for safety and she came with the rude employee who had a lollipop in her mouth and she was very defiant. She treated me of lier. I usually like Ross stores in fancy areas, the San Pablo store is an exception, but this one was just OK. They had everything in the area where it was supposed to be, which is why I like these stores, but it was hard finding their women's clothing. I was looking for pants and the pant sizes they offered weren't easily labeled. So I had to walking around twice - the first time looking for the section and the second time looking while doing a process of elimination before I saw the tiny 1/2 rack with women's sized pants. I'm used to being able to find them much easier. I had more fun strolling and looking and random things while my husband made his purchase, than I did looking for something to buy for myself. I'm torn on this review, but think it's necessary and I'll update if I go back and have a different experience. I went to this Ross location six days after Christmas so I am trying to take that into consideration, but I was beyond disappointed with their inventory. The shelves were practically empty and because this location is so clean and organized, it was even more obvious. That's why I have it three stars, this location is immaculate! Everything has a place, no items were scattered, messy or broken and floors were clean of clutter. I will say, you don't see this at many Ross stores. But I can't imagine myself going back because I don't know that I'd find anything worth buying. Maybe I'll give it another chance and blame the holiday shopping rush, but we'll see! read more

I love the store itself. However this company has kept the stores sooo short staffed I can't ever sit thru the 45 min line to wait for the one and only cashier. On top of that they are super slow I've watched these lady's take over 10 mins with one person! I get it they are tired and burnt out. Ross you have now hiring signs yet your never hiring new staff. The customer service here is complete shit. Fitting rooms are closed a whole hour before closing. The security guards walk past and stares as if you're on probation. Tried to use the bathroom and the manager said it was closed at 9? LMAOOO BRO. I mean in the end she was able to send an employee to open the bathroom for me but I overheard her say "make sure she doesn't see the code". Her little minion skips in front of me to punch in the secret davinci code for the bathroom. The manager is blatantly rude. She consistently patronizes this senior worker and it just makes everyone uncomfortable. This location is in walking distance of all the other shops and outdoor mall. I walked to Ross from Anthropologie. Standard Ross...nothing to write home about. The shelves were stocked, the floors were cleaned, the lines weren't crazy long, and every register had an employee. I did come a week before Christmas, so that's probably why the bounty of goods was overflowing (so many toys!) and why there were more employees. I like looking in the home goods section, and I found a few goodies there. They also had some great name brand shoes for nearly half the price. Go, Ross! read more

Another good ol' reliable neighborhood Ross. It's always a great place to go when you don't need something super-specific or are just looking around. Inevitably, I'll always end up buying something I didn't come in for, like an adorable miniature soup pot to heat beans with on the BBQ. You know...super useful stuff! ;-P I've also been able to find decent cookware, men's clothes, and if you need dresses, this location seems to be hoarding enough to clothe all of Contra Costa County. The line, no matter the time of day, will always be long, and there will always be a Loss Prevention associate to greet you at the door. If you're flush with cash and looking to shop, Walnut Creek has a million better stores within a stone's throw of this Ross. If you're like me, though, and living frugal, Ross always gets the job done. I'll be back! read more

Horrible experience at Ross Around 8:30 pm last night , a very disturbing incident happened to me in Ross walnut creek I went there to return some items. I then liked another 3 blouses, so I went to the fitting room to try them on and as we all know you have to hang your items first outside and then take a number from the sales associate there .. The lady standing there named "Ivana" or "Yvonne" who turned out to be " The STORE MANAGER" was busy talking in her headset about schedules, breaks and lunches in a very relaxing way without even looking at me for seven minutes. So after patiently waiting , I decided to select a number and showed her the items while going inside the fitting room area. Suddenly, she started yelling and telling me "mame go back there and put the stuff"in a very impolite and rude way while pointing her finger at my face. I told her that I've been waiting here for her and she just neglected me as a customer completely. She then started yelling at me again and telling me "not to argue and that I had to wait until she's eventually done with her call "!! After all this horrible horrible attitude, she had the audacity to threaten me to call the police"!!! So, ofc I told her "yes call them". I left the items and went outside as I couldn't do business with this level of rudeness and impoliteness from a store manager, but I thought I should get her supervisor's number, so I decided to go back in, when I had to deal with this same unstable manager again!Who not only refused to provide me with any of her supervisors contact information, but then acted very shady doing her best efforts to get me in this one particular section in between aisles and I refused because I was standing by the front door. She then kept threatening me again with calling the police,So I decided to call the police myself while I'm still inside the store, to find out that she had already called them and they told me that "she is refusing to serve me" I believe she tried to drag me inside that section of the store for a hidden agenda to claim anything or maybe pretend that I hurt her or threatened her. Ofc I had to leave for the day. This is beyond a bad customer service experience! When this is who you have managing the Walnut Creek store, how do you expect any success to your company!! How can a store manager call the police on a customer just because they spoke up for being neglected, yelled at, treated in a very disrespectful way, and asked for a supervisor's contact. This situation is beyond horrible and scary, never thought I'd be put in such a situation because of a rude, disrespectful and a lying manager. read more

Britney who is the store manager of this location was incredibly unprofessional and rude in what I experienced during my shopping here today. Britney was attending the fitting rooms in the back and I asked if there was a trash can back there so I could throw out my drink. I was told to use the outside waste bins as the drink is considered hazardous waste according to their policy. This was fine, but she were incredibly rude about the situation and seemed totally upset that I had interrupted her from being on her phone to ask that question. Moving on, the queue line had over twenty people in line and only one cashier was able to attend at the time. I asked the cashier who turned out to be the ASM who the associate was in the back. I quickly learned the unprofessionalism I experienced was from the store manager. The ASM asked me what happened as though Britney gets complaints often. Anyways, Britney stayed in the back continuing to be on her phone and attending a not-so-bustling fitting room. She didn't bother to open the front fitting rooms of the store to relieve herself of that position to help and support her team up front. The whole situation felt like a complete lack of respect for the associates that work under her and the customers in the store. I can't imagine what it would be like to work under someone who cares so little about her associates and customers. Hopefully someone more sincere, empathetic, and a team player can one day replace her position. read more

Went to the Ross after sorta forgetting Ross existed. I had an hour to kill, so I said, I'll check it out. Found some cool things, the selection seemed sparse from what I remember but whatever. My 1 start review is for the fact that they don't let you take the cart outside of the store and didn't bag my items, even though I asked for bags (I had some big things, so I thought it was fine. The checker should have warned me that I couldn't take the cart. She could clearly see how much I had and would struggle to carry it all. Then the security guard at the front told me I can't take the cart, I was shocked and asked "how should I do this then?" She shrugged her shoulders and said "I don't know, but you can't take the cart". I then said, can somebody help me out? She said "we're not allowed to help you". I'm just confused here. Why? Why are they making folks suffer like this. It took me 3 trips to unload my basket and carry it all out to my car. Absolutely trashy. I'll never come back there. Terrible experience! read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. This Ross lies to customers. They say you can't return, ie "its not in their system" with a receipt more than 30 days. A TOTAL LIE. Went to another Ross right away (Pleasant Hill) and they were able to return no problem, no questions asked, for an item more than 30 days (for exchange/gift receipt). Why are Walnut Creek Ross store employees allowed (encouraged?) to LIE? This has happened to me two different times at this Walnut Creek Ross. If you can avoid this Ross you're way better off. This store is POORLY managed! You will wait a LONG time and line even if there is only a few people in front of you. They only have one register open with 3-4 people on the floor putting back clothes when there's a line of people. They say "understaffed" but really the workers don't want to work the registers. First time visit , they have a lot of items and so many sales , give your self at least an HR or two of shopping when visiting here lol. I found a very cute pink blow dryer for only $22, and a super cute backpack for $15 ,and a very large candle for $15. I am writing this as I stand in a line so long that cheap doesn't mean much.... The vacant eyes of those in line waiting for a discounted death Holiday week and literally 2 slack jawed tired people ringing up cheap items with as much luster as the items themselves I wouldn't be so flip if there were not literally no less than 3 ROSS employees not ringing... I have worked in retail for over 25yrs and fully understand the ins and outs of many types of brick and morter environments. What I am getting at is if the team was fully functioning than they would have recognized the need for more ringers to bring down the line so you can get past the rush Lastly. I was the visual director for Loehmanns at one point in my retail career and I can with absolute faith tell you that discount retailers do not need to look as poor as the WC location. I usually spend one day going to all the local stores and looking for a specific size in clothing and I'm in and out of there. The walnut creek store was organized well. There's a couple Ross' near my town that either have everything spaced out to give the impression that there's more or everything is consolidated but the sizes are all mismatched from the hangers and in the wrong section [super frustrating] read more

I went back to this store to see if they had a toilet paper holder - I found several metal styles, so I bought one. It was a decent price compared to full retail (8.99, if I remember that right). Unfortunately, it was late afternoon, with a long wait for the checkout. The senior lady behind me in line asked if they could get another cashier out. She kept complaining to me about the long wait and how the staff were not moving faster. I agreed with her (and so did others...) They had two cashiers working the registers, but one older man was very slow moving, which she said to me "he needs to go back for more training" - and a female just had a customer with a lot of stuff...and they did somehow get a third cashier at least, but I waited at least 20 very long minutes, which was not worth it. Total frustration, but at least I kept my cool. I began wishing that I had just paid double across the street at The Container Store, to not waste my time in line at Ross. read more

The worst store ever! There Has not been a time that I've been in Ross and there hasn't been a 20 to 45 minute wait to check out. Today there were 2 checkers with 15+ people in line . Then one of the 2 checkers went on break with the line still full of very impatient customers. The return line gets to go to the front of the line in front of the customers that are trying to spend money and have waited for so long. We now have one checker sharing the people who want to purchase and the people who want to return.. Seriously??? I tried to call the manager 3 different times and the manager would not pick up the phone. On the last call the lady that answered said the manager was in the checkstand checking and couldn't answer the phone.. She described the manager to me and I did find the manager, not checking people out.. She was moving product probably to put it away. Is that really the time to put something away when you have 15 to 20 customers impatiently waiting to check out?? I abhor this store. I had two VERY different experiences on two consecutive shopping trips. Shopping Trip #1 - Clothing racks were disheveled with empty hangers and clothing in the wrong sized section and broken hangers and clothing on the floor - Dressing rooms were dirty and some had broken doors and/or broken clothing hooks - Dressing room attendant was checking every item, even those that were my own, for loss prevention (she did not seem to believe that I wore my own outerwear despite the cold weather) - Several employees were either yelling to each other across the sales floor or speaking another language - Other employees were glum and weren't making any eye contact nor greeting customers either at the registers or on the sales floor Shopping Trip #2 - Clothing racks were organized and the floor didn't have any debris - Dressing rooms were still in need of repair, but the dressing room attendant smiled, greeted me, and thanked me - Cashier smiled, said hello, made eye contact, and said thank you One star for the first shopping trip and an added star for the second shopping trip. read more

Today I was so revolted I have to warn others. 1. The store off Main/Walnut Creek was dirty throughout. From the front doors with smeared glass to the floor in the back, yuck! For this reason I was too concerned to check the dressing rooms or the bathroom. 2. The stock was about 50% in the right department, debris scattered on most flat spots. 3. The line was about 20 min and the store was not very crowded. I don't blame the store for the exhausted Mom with 4 unrulies under 10, but the store stressed her more with the line. 4. Overall the merchandise quality is sub-par at Ross, though usually cheap, not less than Marshall's and poorer quality so lower value. Still no excuse for 5. clutter, dirt and empty shelves.
