Ross is by no means the epitome of shopping, but I at least expect a clean store , which this Ross is not. I've never seen another store this messy. Literally every row of clothing has clothes and hangers on the floor and displays are very disorganized. There were literally huge piles of hats or shoes on the ground, below where they were supposed to be. No pride has been taken at the upkeep of this store and it shows. A situation arose at the checkout when I attempted to purchase an item that lacked a price tag. A cashier was attempting to assist me by using the price of a similar item. Another employee (blonde hair girl) then interrupted the transaction by stating that this was not possible. When I questioned the interruption, the employee became dismissive and turned away. when I asked for a manager, she acted like it was an inconvenience. With the Manager showed up she tried to act like she was busy while eavesdropping the whole entire time because she knew I was complaining about her. read more

Some old white guy (worker) yelled at my child for picking something up, because apparently it was in the "wrong" place. There has to be new management. I'm a frugal person-always on the hunt for a deal. So I love Ross for their prices-it's a discount shopper's paradise. But I also appreciate order and cleanliness, which this store lacks. The inventory is usually hit and miss and it's always like a treasure hunt-you don't know what you're going to find, or even where you are going to find it. My dream job would be to work here arranging clothing and organizing the chaos. I find a strange satisfaction in tidying things up-and I think there'd be no shortage of things to arrange. Sadly, I don't think most of the folks who work here share my passion for this task. People seem annoyed if you ask a question and they are always short staffed. Bottom line-if you're only after a good deal, you'll likely be satisfied. But plan on doing a little digging to find what you want and don't expect high levels of customer service. read more

I cruised through here all quick-like in search of just a few items. Big ups for having a larger-than-average shoe section here for the fellas. Not super well-organized, but on the Ross scale of things, totally acceptable. The dressy mens section is paltry at best. Some haphazard ties (and where are all the bow ties like at the Midvale store?) and a few dress shirts that are poorly organized even by Ross standards. Not that I spend a lot of time here--I try not to, but sometimes those sweet kicks (read: so bad they're stylish) lure me in. This happened: I found a pair of red, tan-in-the-back, hidden laces canvas kicks that were on sale for a ten spot. I mean, a fella can't say no to that. So I grabbed them and after a quick check of the clothing racks was on my way to the checkout. And then, in true Ross style, I was met with the slowest moving line known to shoppers. No less than 10 people in line, and one lonely cashier fumbling her way through the checkout process. I avoid Ross for this very reason, but how many times do I have to grow old in line before I say enough is enough? This may have broke the camel's back. I ditched the shoes on the rack, spun towards the exit, and never looked back. Now, I'm sure my $10 won't be missed too badly, but the lesson I learned was to avoid Ross. They just can't pull it together. It's a discount store, sure, but when your job is to sell things to people and they go through all the trouble of coming in, trying things on, selecting things that they're willing to purchase, only to face Disneyland-length lines (without the fun at the end) then you're just not going to be successful. Normally, I like Ross stores, but not this location. I have a neighborhood friend that I grew up with that is Autistic. He is 16 now and his mom took him into the Ross store and the customer service associate, Linda we think her name is, treated him horribly. She called him dumb and stupid and loudly laughed at him and made fun of him to her other co-workers. His mother got upset and told her that he was Autistic and Linda said that he didn't look like it to her and continued to make fun of him. Ross needs to fire this insensitive employee, this should not be okay anywhere you go and it makes me just livid and sick to think that she is still working there and causing other people to feel ashamed of themselves. Staff at the Jordan Landing store are awful. I've been a Ross customer for years. We went first thing on a Sunday and an ornery fitting room lady called security because my kids weren't right next to my side. They were within eye and ear shot and my 8 year old was holding his brothers hand the whole way. They were behaving, quiet, and weren't messing with anything. I guess she was pissy that she was working min wage on a Sunday morning? Funny thing-She said kids aren't allowed by themselves. I saw 4 other kids by themselves in the 20 min before I left that day. Won't go back. Went to Target right after and had no problem with my well behaved 8 & 2 year old. Says what you need to know. Save your money and shop at target instead. read more

I come for the deals....today fun bridal shower gifts. I did remove a star, though, as the store looks like it's drastically reduced its stock. So much missing, and a lot of empty space; I wondered if it was closing. There is a big hiring sign out. I love Ross stores in general, but I can't believe how awful the customer service was at this location. It's not that they were rude or mean, simply in the fact they did nothing to help with 20 customers in line. The store was stocked and clean, which is why I'm giving 2 stars. If it was rated only based on customer service, it would have been 0/5. Ross had 2 people helping the line. One for returns, the other for checking people out. They had another girl just folding clothes behind the return counter, while another was putting merchandise on a cart. I understand that not everyone will be taught the tills, but you have to get them cross trained. You have to get more employees helping the customers when it's busy. I spent 15 minutes in line, and probably had at least 20-30 minutes to go. There were maybe 10 customers ahead of me when I first got in line. The tipping point when they had, what looked like, two managers come up to the registers, count out some change, and then they took the employee away who was dedicated to checking people out. The managers didn't even acknowledge the line. They honestly avoided looking towards the line of people. After they left the lady at the customer returns desk by herself to handle both returns and checkouts, I walked out with maybe 3 to 4 other people. I don't care who you are. If you are running a business dedicated to helping customers. You have to stop what you're doing for 10 minutes, and get the customers out of the store. read more

What a nightmare! I had THE WORST shopping experience I've ever had in any store. My actual rating is Zero stars, if that were an option! I needed a formal type dress last minute for an awards dinner I was attending with my husband in Orlando. I had been very ill with a severe cold and followed by a very painful sinus infection and was unable to shop for a dress until a few days before I was to fly to Orlando. I was surprised to find out Ross was open until 11pm, but very thankful after shopping other stores and not finding a dress I liked. After shopping Nord Rack (and being treated very well, but no dress I loved), it was 9pm and my daughter and I headed to Ross in JL. We found a few dresses and other things to try on. I found a dress that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED and I was so excited! A lady was putting dresses away and asked if we were going to want to use the fitting room, so she knew we were there and we were going to try things on. We went to the fitting room but nobody was there. We waited and waited. Finally, after waiting for a very long time, I had to go find her to come help us into the fitting room. As we were in the dressing room trying things on, a male was yelling back into the room that they were closing in 15 min, and he continued to yell about the store closing several more times. I had a few dresses that I liked, in addition to one I loved, and was trying to decide which ones to buy. Then he yelled back that they were closed ( in addition to the speaker announcement that we heard, so we were well aware and we were already getting our things together to go). We walked up to to the front to checkout. There were 2 employees standing up there. We weren't sure which register to go to. One of the employees sort of rolled his eyes and slowly walked around to the "Returns" counter and then stood there looking at me. He (Kade) didn't greet or say anything to me. I assumed that I was supposed to go there so I walked up to where he was, still not sure that is were I was supposed to go since there was another employee helping my daughter at the other register. I could tell he was not happy about something. He began to ring my items in, still not saying a word to me. Then it came to my dress. He attempted to take the ink tag off. He was being very aggressive with the dress. He was twisting and turning and pulling on it very aggressively. I thought he was going to rip the dress. Then it happened. The ink tag broke and red ink got all over the beautiful black and white dress. He finally spoke to me and said very rudely, "The ink tag won't come off and now the dress is ruined". HE DIDN'T EVEN APOLOGIZE. He acted as if it was no big deal and just tossed the dress to a table behind him and continued to ring in the rest of my items. I stood there shocked! I couldn't believe what just happened! The manager was in the vicinity and I asked him if he just saw what just happened. He didn't, so I explained. He gave a sort of half apology and said "he'd take care of it", but he didn't say or do anything else. I explained my situation and how I didn't have time to find another dress before I'm supposed to leave for Orlando. He just said, "I'm sorry, I'll take care of it" but didn't say or do anything to help me. I was so disappointed, frustrated and upset that tears just started to come. I left the store in tears not knowing what to do to have time to find a dress before I was supposed to fly out. I wrote the corporate office to tell them what had happened. They responded the next day and said the district manager would be in contact with me. 2 weeks later, and I still have not heard from ANYONE. What happened and how I was treated was unacceptable. I gave them an opportunity to get my business back and they don't care enough or respect customers enough to take that opportunity. Horrible business practice! They've lost not only my business, but many people I've told my experience to won't shop there anymore as well. Way to give your competition more business, Ross. It's your loss and you'll continue to lose more customers with the way you disregard and disrespect your customers. read more

But having only one or two cashiers on duty when 20-30 people are standing in a line that isn't moving is really extreme. How could you say this place sucks? If you walk in here and are unimpressed by the quality of clothes, or the organization of the store, you're in the wrong place obviously. Head over to Macy's or Nordstroms, pay literally 6 times the amount, and enjoy more organization and SLIGHTLY higher quality. But if you have some time, don't mind sifting through racks of crappy clothes to find that one item you wouldn't mind adding to your wardrobe at 75 percent off the normal retail price, then you should head over to Ross. If you want superb customer service or a great shopping experience with personal shoppers and employees kissing your butt, head elsewhere. Manage your expectations dammit. read more

I would literally give this Ross no stars if it was possible. I usually love Ross but this location has terrible customer service. The cashier rushed the person in front of me out and forced her kids to move so I could put my stuff on the counter and then rushed me out while I was still paying and when I told her that that's super rude she says "well we are timed on each customer and I am in the bottoms 5 so I don't really care".
