    The number four

Best sandwiches. I've recommended this spot to a few people and all have agreed that the sandwiches are well worth hyping up and spotting to get if you're in the area or passing through. My favorites are The Number Four and Chicken & Rabe. The sandwiches are filled, made to order (and thus hot), and everything is portioned/seasoned well. Makes you wonder why all sandwiches can't be this good.

When I tell you this was the best sandwich I've probably ever had! They were quick, staff made an excellent recommendation, and the fresh ingredients were truly incredible! 3 cutlets of chicken, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, pesto! I literally could not have thought of anything more to add to this perfect combination!

Roast pork and broccoli raab sandwich (ciabatta)
    Bethany M.

The roast pork/broccoli raab sandwich is the stuff that Italian deli dreams are made of. The pork is so meltingly tender you could be toothless and still manage to snarf it down. Unreal. Highly recommend ordering the ciabatta as the base - it's sturdy enough to support that pile of pig, cheese and bitter raab. 1 sandwich is sufficient for two adults - they're not messing around with these portions. I can see why they've been in business since 1979.

Very pricey but huge and definitely could be shared. I made my own which was very fresh but the best premade one we got was the fig apple and turkey panini!

Sandwiches (THE NUMBER FOUR and the TURKEY, FIG & APPLE) were great but deeply disappointed in their customer service. After we finished eating, my mom went to ask where their restroom is. An older woman told her there wasn't one. My mom told her we just bought lunch there and she still refused her the bathroom. I went back to ask myself and was told there was a bathroom around back. Maybe there was a miscommunication that happened but I didn't appreciate how rude the older woman was to my mom. I shouldn't have to ask for her after I just got lunch from here. This was my first time trying Rossi after I read really good reviews but this experience doesn't sit well with me.

The core of Poughkeepsie's Family run Business since forever. It's been a part of my family since I was a little kid. The food is true authentic Italian quinine as if it was made by the Italian grandma in her own kitchen. Great Buffet all the time eggplant, chicken Parm broccoli rabe and whatever is on the menu that day. There's always a line at lunch time that is worth getting into. You will not be disappointed just get in line. 45 South Clover street make your plans ASAP and have your mind blown. Pound for pound (literally) you get a lot of BANG for the buck. Be Blessed No Stress and let Rossi's Deli do it for you. And by the way we've used them several times for family events they have a Great Catering Menu with a ton of choices. By the way I got hungry just writing about it. Look them up and check out the menu. Make it a lunch stop for you and your workers this week.

Blue ribbon sandwich, spiced cannoli and homemade lemonade

I had to try the OG location after trying the eastdale one a few years ago. Love the old school vibe and even though it's cozy compared to newer spot, it has more heart. All that side, had there blue ribbon which basically their spin on chicken cordon blue, let me tell it's best version there is. The chicken is moist and crispy, cheese is gooey see pic, ham slices are sweet and savory, the herb mayo and honey mustard sauce make the sandwich really sing and elevate a sandwich normally bland to bursting with favor. Plus the focaccia bread is crispy on the outside and very soft inside, a perfect combination. Spiced cannoli was amazing, can't beat a cannoli that is spiced with flavor rather than plain, plus the shell itself is crispy and crunchy, unlikely other places where they can stale as hell. For borgata lemonade, definitely more on the bitter side rather than sweet on the scale, but still refreshing. Service itself was rather quickly and the guy that ran the counter was very friendly and enjoyed his humor when ordering, plus pretty thorough on explaining the menu and offering opinions.

The famous Rossi's has been all over social media for some time. I had to go see what the hype was about while visiting family in upstate New York. If you know, you know. The place was clean, the staff were very friendly and kind. You can tell this place has had a great reputation for classic Italian eats for years. It's a definitely a local gem, established in 1979 . Don't think you're going to come here for a simple sub and go... nope these sandwiches are gourmet and created by top chefs. Sandwiches range from $15-20, yup you read correctly. The sandwiches are huge though. Four people can be full and satiated from one sandwich, I promise you. It's ginormous lol My husband and I ordered the famous " Number Four" sandwich. We opted for gluten free bread, I was happy that it was an option. We discovered that the sandwich itself was pretty okay. It was good but we found it to be pretty dry. We tried to fix the dryness with a little mayo which helped a little but to be honest I was a little disappointed with having to do that . Overall it was fun experiencing a historic landmark for the Hudson Valley area and support a local business.

Ive always heard amazing things about Rossis. We stopped in today and I wasn't disappointed. It has an old school Italian deli feel with a modern menu. The workers were kind and friendly. It got busy while we were inside waiting. The food didn't take too long and it was very good! I could only eat half! It was a bit expensive but will last me 2-3 meals

Fantastic Deli with gluten free options! The portion sizes are huge so you'll definitely have left overs. Many options of sandwiches to chose from with homemade gluten free bread option. They even had gluten free cannolis! Service was great too! Very kind and respectful. You gotta stop in!

As far as Italian delis go, Rossi's is stellar. Everything I've ever gotten there is the best of its kind! Nice folks too!

I arrived early....just before 5pm on a weekday and had the place to myself for a little while. It's super clean with wonderful service, and there's k-pop playing on a big screen TV. What else could you want? How about absolutely outstanding food? Yes! I was hangry so I ordered a kimchi pancake and an order of bibimbap (no meat) with extra hot sauce. Before all that arrived, I was surprised and delighted by a perfect salad with amazing dressing that I'd like to bathe in and small cup of friggin' delicious pumpkin soup. My kimchi pancake was the spicy, carb-laden appetizer that I needed with a plentiful side of chili sauce. Then, my sizzling bibimbap arrived and I was thrilled to find purple rice under the fresh, assorted vegetables and fried egg. A side of kimchi and fish cakes accompanied my bibimbap. My iced ginger tea was sweet and a perfect complement to the rest of the meal. I almost polished off everything....loved that purple rice that got nice and crispy in that hot pot. Gochunjang tasted homemade...thick, spicy, savory and slightly sweet. The menu isn't extensive or overwhelming....it's just right. There's a nice selection of Makgeolli, so I got a bottle to take home with me for the weekend. Can't wait to go back when I'm in the neighborhood.
