Expensive but HUGE. This is a Poughkeepsie staple for a reason. There has been a few times my order was wrong but the quality of the food is just insane and they are always slammed during the academic year (slower in the summer in my experience). The sandwiches are shareable (even the smallest size) and the dinner meals are ~$17-$20 and could easily stretch to 2 full meals. Their red sauce is a little acidic but delicious. Came here for lunch to get a sandwich to split and we got the Number Four on semolina bread with balsamic drizzle as well as some rainbow cookies to share. The sandwich is massive! Each half was a full sandwich itself. And it was absolutely delicious. The mozzarella was so fresh and the chicken cutlet was amazing. Definitely recommend adding the balsamic vinegar because it really brings together the sandwich. Bread was crunchy and perfect too. Service was organized and quick even during lunch hours. Believe the hype this place is amazing! I shared the Rossi Raab - a pork, broccolini, and cheese sandwich with my friend. We both liked it, I loved it - and had some to take home. My other friends got a turkey sandwich and a salad and were both super happy. I got a bergamot lemonade with blood orange - incredible and paired perfectly with the sandwiches. I also got some paprika chips for lunch as well. I couldn't resist the orecchiette pasta salad with sausage, parmesan and broccolini - I told them I wanted to eat it later so they prepared it cold for me. The Dario was one of the best sandwich's I have ever had. Everything else's looked great as well. Friendly service . Busy even if the middle of the afternoon. Take out only except for a few tables on the sidewalk. It is a hole in the wall deli but clean. Some of the prepared and pastas I. The cooler looked tantalizing food. Even the arancini were normal size slightly smaller than a golf ball like they should be u like some gargantuan things I have gotten in restaurants. Glad I found this place. I had been to the other location and wanted my family to give them a try. So it only made sense that we stop at the original location. We stopped here on the way to the airport and were immediately amazed with the customer service. John and Brady were phenomenal. We ordered the small Italian club with Chicken cutlet and the Vittorio. We also got a large Muffaletta with the olive salad on the side, pesto chips, mixed pickled veggies salad and a cannoli. We wanted to change since we were going to the airport so we had to use the restroom. That's where we encountered John. He is such a lovely man. He was so sweet and I enjoyed our conversation. My sister was throughly impressed with Brady's customer service. He made her feel at home and was very friendly. All of our food was good. They devoured the veggie salad on the car ride to the airport and we ate some of the sandwiches too. The portions are big and you can share. I work in town every now and then. On a cold Friday afternoon, I found this spot after a quick Yelp search. It is located on a back street with not much activity, and I was able to find parking quickly, which is key when you are on a work break. As soon as I walked in, the smells and sights of an authentic Italian deli were exactly what you hope for. There is a menu with plenty to choose from and a pastry case that I already know I will be coming back to try next time. I went with the Blue Ribbon panini, and in about ten minutes I had a hefty sandwich wrapped and ready to go. When I sat down to eat and picked it up, it did not disappoint. Chicken cutlet, ham, honey mustard, roasted tomatoes, Swiss cheese, and great bread. Everything blended together perfectly. On the first bite, the chicken cutlet burned my mouth in the best way possible. The tomatoes and honey mustard tied it all together and made it incredibly satisfying. I could only eat half because it was such a heavy sandwich. My dad finished the other half and shared the same appreciation for a really good panini. They are truly over-the-top amazing! Our daughter recently got married and we wanted authentic Italian food for the festivities. Our wedding coordinator, Heather Kinkade Post (Founder & Director of Events & Strategic Partnerships at Heather Kinkade Inc.) highly recommended them, and we are so glad she did. They catered our welcome rehearsal dinner at Locust Grove, and everything was perfect. The food was exceptional, beautifully presented, and they thoughtfully provided gluten-free options as well. Lauren Murray from Rossi & Sons worked closely with us to create a fantastic menu and also arranged wonderful servers who helped make the evening seamless. We also hosted a post-wedding party at Bad Seed Cider, and the Italian panini sandwiches were absolutely incredible--again with gluten-free options available. The sandwiches are huge though. Four people can be full and satiated from one sandwich, I promise you. It's ginormous lol My husband and I ordered the famous " Number Four" sandwich. We opted for gluten free bread, I was happy that it was an option. We discovered that the sandwich itself was pretty okay. It was good but we found it to be pretty dry. We tried to fix the dryness with a little mayo which helped a little but to be honest I was a little disappointed with having to do that . An older woman told her there wasn't one. My mom told her we just bought lunch there and she still refused her the bathroom. I went back to ask myself and was told there was a bathroom around back. Maybe there was a miscommunication that happened but I didn't appreciate how rude the older woman was to my mom. I shouldn't have to ask for her after I just got lunch from here. I had to try the OG location after trying the eastdale one a few years ago. Love the old school vibe and even though it's cozy compared to newer spot, it has more heart. All that side, had there blue ribbon which basically their spin on chicken cordon blue, let me tell it's best version there is. The chicken is moist and crispy, cheese is gooey see pic, ham slices are sweet and savory, the herb mayo and honey mustard sauce make the sandwich really sing and elevate a sandwich normally bland to bursting with favor. Plus the focaccia bread is crispy on the outside and very soft inside, a perfect combination. Spiced cannoli was amazing, can't beat a cannoli that is spiced with flavor rather than plain, plus the shell itself is crispy and crunchy, unlikely other places where they can stale as hell. For borgata lemonade, definitely more on the bitter side rather than sweet on the scale, but still refreshing. Service itself was rather quickly and the guy that ran the counter was very friendly and enjoyed his humor when ordering, plus pretty thorough on explaining the menu and offering opinions. read more

Came here before a hike and had the best sandwiches of my life. My boyfriend and I ordered their 2 specials: SPICED LAMB SAUSAGE SANDWICH (grilled homemade lamb sausage with warm spices, calabrian chile & citrus, whipped ricotta salata, arugula, salsa verde on ciabatta) and THE AFFUMICATO (prosciutto cotto, speck, asiago, tallegio, artichoke, roasted plum tomatoes, pickled onion, arugula, herb aioli on panini bread). Both of them blew my mind - the flavors, the textures and the breads were PERFECT. We also bought homemade spaghetti, clam sauce, njuda arancini and pimento cheese to take home. The pimento cheese is more red than usual and has a kick to it but is soo delicious. I can't wait to try everything else at home! Inside is pretty no frills deli but they do have tables and chairs outside. A lot has changed since my last visit years ago. Firstly they close at 5:00 we arrived at 4:55 to a clearly troubled counter guy. To his dismay we ordered. Their bread "house made" sucks- black sesame seeds don't belong on Italian bread and the white ones should be toasted before they go on the dough. The house made mozzarella was like a brick - The beverage selection is very limited The staff is rude- counter guy refused to clean a table when a woman came in and said they had a spill . He said " I'll do it later " She couldn't get him to clean the chair so she could sit and eat- so the group of 4 left !! The dopey sons don't even say hello, grunt or pick up their moping heads. Big change from the mother and father always there to greet you as you walk inside. This place wouldn't exist if the parents ran it this way. Pretty sad. read more
