Walked into Rossi & Sons after an event at Marist University earlier in the day. Had a Marist alumni tell me I need to go to Rossi & Sons. I was told to order the #4 or the Vodka Chicken Parm hero. Ended up walking out with over $350 worth of food because I was so blown away. I'm not really sure where to begin: first of all as an Italian, walking into the restaurant already felt like home. I was blown away from the fresh made pasta's, various sauces I could take home, Arancini's (rice balls), and then how could I say no to the desserts. I was in heaven. I had a great conversation with the fabulous ladies behind the counter. I'm pretty sure everyone behind me picking up orders were like "can this guy leave already?". But I just had to continue chatting with everyone. The ladies helped me get everything from around the store that my heart desired. And then I remembered, I was supposed to come in and get a sandwhich. They showed me the screens mounted on the walls which clearly had a custom ordering template built out from the store with all the modification elements to add/remove toppings as needed. Blown away again. I'm a technology salesperson and that part hit a different satisfaction for me as they had this down - and quite honestly the Italian market/pork store is not where I'm expected the highest level of technology lol. Just blown away. Lastly, I told them about my fiancée and how her family owns DelFiore's pork store down on Long Island. At that point they grabbed Fabio, the owner, and we had an amazing conversation as I learned he knew exactly what DelFiore's was and even offered to help give us advice if we ever want to get into the family business. I was supposed to go in and get a rocking $25-$30 sandwhich and I walked out with $350 worth of food because I was being assisted by some of the nicest people I've ever met in the food industry. Just the most genuine caring people. Mind you, I had to schlep all of this back to Brooklyn NY in a Suburu Outback rental. And if you are wondering if everything stayed in the trunk on that drive back, fughetaboutit. I'm popping arancini's like candy on the Taconic home (no small feet with those turns). These people are in the food business because they care about making people's days and giving them the best possible food. Protect these people at all costs. This is a Mecca for quality Italian provisions. I'll be grabbing my fiancée and heading back up so we can continue chatting with everyone and not holding the lines up. 11/10 experience I'm blown away if you couldn't already tell. Just take my money, I can't pay enough for such enjoyable days. That drive home sucked at rush hour, but they all made it worth it. I like to think I gave them all a little enjoyment as well :). This rossis is good...their pastry selection is nice and they taste so so good. Similar to the OG location, they have a selection of imported Italian products to buy. Bigger than the OG location and they have seats to eat inside. They also have more options such as pasta and pizza. The only complaint is...it is pricey lol. read more

First of all, it was massive--no way I could finish it solo, so I split it with my husband and we were both blown away. It's honestly one of the best chicken cutlet sandwiches I've had--like, up there with the Red Hook Italian delis in Brooklyn. This sandwich had weight, flavor, and heart. Chef's kiss. My husband also ordered a side of meatballs, which admittedly took a bit longer, but he was obsessed with them, so no real complaints. I get it--the hot items take a little more time than the sandwiches. Service: 5/5 This isn't a sit-down spot--they've got a couple of chairs, but it's really more grab-and-go. That said, service was quick, friendly, and efficient. Our sandwiches came out in about 10-15 minutes, and the staff was great about keeping the line moving even when it got a little busy. Overall: This place is a gem. Total cost for both of us? Around $30, and it felt like a luxury lunch without the price tag. Generous portions, high-quality ingredients, and that classic deli charm. Pro tip- you can order online in advance. I went on a Monday, and it was pretty slow. I ordered the muffaletta. It's about $20, but can easily be three meals. The sandwich was perfect. The bread was crusty and fresh. Greens were fresh, mozzarella was just soo good. This was my first stop at this location, but it lives up to the Rossi's down by the train station. Next time, I want to try one of their massive, perfect looking croissants. There are also some other baked goods and breads. read more

Saw a lot of hype for this place and had it on the to do list. Smaller than I thought. You walk in and there are a number of touch screens where you place your order. Easy enough to maneuver through. Order the minestrone soup and the Import Mix. The soup was very good but the sandwich was huge, tasty and fully loaded. It's going to take me days to eat. My advice is to order ahead. Starting working at delis when I was 13 and did ten years in the business. Been a sandwich connoiseur my whole life. These are easily the best sandwiches I've ever had. Play around with some options and add prosciutto if you're feeling it. Personally I don't get the tapenade on the combo because I don't like olives so heads up on that. read more

That bread! wow. We had achicken milanese sandwich. I think my expectation was that it was going to be a very heavy and sense sandwich but this felt like everything was light and fluffy and not going to kill my stomach. One of the most delicious and clean type of sandwiches I've ever had. In regards to ordering it was really simple we went to a machine but there was somebody there willing to help us if necessary. So once we ordered we received the receipt and went around to the cashier and had to pay. A very simple process however and very long waiting process. We wait at a solid 15-20 minutes for one sandwich. This could be improved but I'm not sure how busy they were in the back. Looking around they had a lot other than to purchase if necessary. They had an entire cheese section got to order. Imported Italian drinks as well as cookies and chips. They also had some Basics sodas and drinks as well. We were able to sit outside on a really nice day with a few of their picnic tables that they have outside. I would highly suggest making a stop if you're in the area. read more

I came to Rossi as a backup when my normal go-to spot was closed, having never been before and I will be back. Right off the bat this place has a very cool ambiance that combines both modern and classic old school Italian deli. I ordered a hot sub called the Zoo and this thing was ridiculous. Aside from being absolutely massive, it was on amazing simolina bread that was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside, the chicken was prepared perfectly and there were piles of fresh mozzarella, soppressata balsamic glaze and this spicy stuzzichino spread. The price tag jumps right out at you at $25 for a sub but this is EASILY a 2-3 meal sandwich. I actually laughed when they handed it to me, it was that huge. Service was quality, all subs are made to order on their own breads and this stuzzichino spread was INCREDIBLE, not too spicy but a perfect blend of peppers. My family lives in Poughkeepsie, and I don't, but I've been seeing rave reviews online of Rossi's, my friends have been saying incredible things, and my parents love this place. So for the last year or so, I was planning this to be one of my first stops in Poughkeepsie when I visit. And let me just start off by saying, this place definitely lived up to the hype, and is by far one of the best places in Poughkeepsie. We ordered online and drove over to pick up. The shop is located right at the beginning of the new Eastdale complex in Arlington. The food was ready right when I got there and since I ordered online, I didn't even have to wait online. The staff were very attentive, and ready to help right when I arrived. For the food, I ordered a Dario on a "Small" focaccia and substituted in fresh mozzarella for the Gorgonzola. This was a 10/10 sandwich and honestly could be the best sandwich I've ever had, it's definitely top 5. The sandwich was massive and I ordered the smallest size and it kept me fed for 2 full meals. It was stuffed to the brim with a hefty portion of fresh mozzarella, roast beef, pickled onions, roasted tomatoes, arugula, and herb aioli. This was a perfect sandwich, good price, and amazing size. I will definitely be visiting this place every time I'm back here and I cannot recommend enough. read more

Incredible !! So fresh , so many choices .... in town for a wedding and stumbled across this incredible, cute and beautiful Italian market/cafe . We had a sample of the tastiest pasta I have ever had and we ordered some to go and all I can say is ...... you get what you pay for - my husband & I ate left overs for 2 days. If I ever come back to this area within an hours drive I will definitely be back and until then I'll be dreaming about your breads, pasta, and your deserts. When you first walk in, there are a couple signs directing you throughout the deli. I walked over to the left to pick up my mobile order. The app was easy to navigate. The staff were so kind and pleasant. The deli itself is really cute and I really liked the decor. Out of the six items we ordered, one was wrong. The sandwiches were huge! We ended up eating half for lunch and the other half for dinner. They were all delicious, but the pesto was a bit salty. We ordered the Quattro Falso, the number four, chicken parm, lasagna, muffaletta, and a build-your-own. This review is for the newer location in Eastdale, New York. I still prefer the original Rossi with the old-school vibe. The new Eastdale location is a bit confusing hence the loss of a star. You place your order at the kiosk, and then you can mail around and find some impulse by items. Three separate locations to place orders for things like cheese and pastries. Makes it a little bit complicated for a first timer. The food is good. Quality is very reliable. Prices are on the higher end of the spectrum. I was able to find Grana Padan and guanccali and a specialty pasta. Hold onto your wallet and don't go there hungry. PS one of the best Cannolo for miles! read more

I don't live in the area anymore but this is always a must stop for me when I am in town. The number four is the best sandwich in town and their cannolis are always a great choice as well. They have a lot of really delicious things for sale in their store as well. This place is always busy but there are tables and chairs outside to sit if it's a nice day. When you first enter you order from a computer screen. Then you answer your phone number and get a text when your food is ready. The food was ready within five minutes so there wasn't much waiting involved. I ordered a Italian club without the cheese. The bread was a little bit hard to chew but other than that the sandwich was pretty tasty. It was also very big so I wasn't able to finish it in one sitting which meant leftovers! Both Rossi locations have the #1 best sandwiches I've ever had made on a variety of freshly baked breads, along with authentic Italian imported drinks, snacks, and ingredients. If you're not feeling a sandwich at the moment, they have a variety of expertly crafted homemade Italian entrees that are out of this world. Not the cheapest place though, I got two sandwiches and one drink that ran me almost 40 bucks. But don't let that deter you because the price was 100% worth it. They have a great curated selection of tarali, olive oils, pastas (fresh and dried), refrigerated and frozen pastas, some sauces in addition to a deli counter packed w the most beautiful meats & cheeses (& extremely knowledgeable helpful staff to help w samples and recommendations) Plus there's pastry & baked goods, and coffee! The sandwich 596 local, such a giant sandwich it's two in one meals. A over generous amount of turkey and bacon, so great since turkey is not dry and the bacon is not burnt. I love cheese and chili spread, so much flavor and depth, plus loved the sandwich is grilled, plus weighing a pound overall. For the ziti arrabbiata, never had arrabbiata sauce, but now it's a favorite for me, sightly spicy kick and super savory. Pasta was perfectly al Dante , and meatballs I had added were flavorful and juicy, not dry or overcooked. Appreciated that put plenty of parm cheese on top. For the lemon cookie, I was blown away, it was on the same level of a macaroon in texture and taste. It really had a gentle lemon flavor without being overpowering. Malted rye chocolate chip cookie, I mean was good and chewy, but can't say it tasted much different than a regular chocolate chip. Been hitting Rossi's since I was a child. Now with their second location in my neighborhood, it has proved to be dangerous. You can't go wrong here. Build your own or order or select of their own creations and you were surely be pleased. Except stay away from the "Large" sandwiches. Those puppies will last you a week. We stopped in to get some meat for our charcuterie board. If you want exceptional service and quality meat cuts- you come here. Settled on both the hot and sweet capicola (we were given a taste of each as we couldn't decide) then some 2 year parma prosciutto which was delish! A spicy soppresata and a loaf of crusty bread were added because we couldn't resist- and why should we? All were wrapped with care between layers of paper and individual zip locks.
