DISAPPOINTING FIRST IMPRESSION I called this dental office today hoping to become a new patient because I'd seen so many great reviews, but unfortunately my experience with the front desk specifically Jackie wasn't very pleasant. When I explained that my insurance had just kicked in and that I was covered, she immediately dismissed me, insisting that "not all the time it is." I tried to clarify and even offered to provide my insurance information, but she told me I'd have to come into the office first. Later, she mentioned that I could send my information in something she could've just told me from the start. The tone throughout the conversation was very sarcastic and passive-aggressive. When I called back to confirm that my insurance was indeed active. I asked about my potential co-pay, and although I had no issue providing my information, she stated that even with it, she couldn't tell me. She also made a confusing comment about "main" procedures being covered, but when I followed up on that, she changed her wording and broke it down in a way that felt condescending. As someone new to the office, I didn't feel welcomed or respected. I genuinely wanted to schedule here because of the many positive reviews, but my interaction with the front desk left a bad impression. I hope management addresses this, because first impressions matter and this one made me reconsider becoming a patient. As someone who values good service and has a large online platform where I often share my experiences with businesses, I genuinely hope the office takes this feedback seriously. I'm not posting this to "call anyone out," but to encourage better communication and professionalism moving forward. read more

BEST DENTIST IN THE HOLLYWOOD AREA!!!! Every time I walk in the entire staff is so welcoming. The Doctor and the Hygienists are so thorough and conservative with any treatments I may need. There are 2 assistants and both are so sweet and always explain the process of what will be worked on for that day. I never have to worry about them pushing treatment that I don't even need or doesn't make sense. Dr. Rothfield explains everything to where I can understand what I need and why I need it. 5 stars isn't enough to give this office because it deserves 10 stars. I have been a patient at Rotherfield dental for over 5 years but for most of that time I was under Dr. Choens care, she is no longer at Rothfield Dental. When I learned Dr. Choen was no longer there I wasn't concerned I had seen Dr. Rothfield in action and I found her to be charming and knowledgable. So why are you now reading a one-star review? Because I was tortured mentally and physically. The story begins with a broken tooth at the very back of my mouth. Like most of us, my dental insurance is sketchy at best I expected to just have the tooth pulled. I expected to pay around $100. I actually asked for the tooth to be pulled but the Dr. insisted that we check and see what it would actually cost. Her assistant presented me with a paper that had about 10 different numbers on it. including what appeared to be a charge of about $250 dollars which I pointed to and said: "if that's all it costs let's do it". The assistant never corrected me, my portion was not circled so I had no idea that I was looking at a $700+ bill. I learned at a follow up when I was asked to pay the higher amount that there had been a misunderstanding. I advised Dr. Rothfield personally that I was sorry for the misunderstanding but I simply couldn't afford this and I would be happy to pay for the work that had already been done and that I would like to tooth pulled. She insisted that we could work something out an encouraged me to continue. Now it's time to fit the crown... it goes well, I have no doubt that Dr. Rothefield is very good at this part of her job. I'm still worried about the bill since we haven't spoken further about the charges but I assume Dr. Rothfield will "work with me" as she said. Now, this is where things went horribly wrong. I was overdue for my cleaning and had already suffered a round of shaming by the dental hygienist about flossing etc. She was very belittling and frankly overbearing being very abrupt and presumptuous. She then proceeded to numb my gums. I told her that in the past I had a very painful experience and I'm sure she was trying to make me comfortable. However, she overdid the numbing gel and it went down my throat. The result was me losing the ability to swallow properly. A slight sip of water was all it took to get a very bad reaction. I found myself unable to breath unable to clear the water from my windpipe, I was essentially waterboarded, I thought I might have a heart attack Dr. Rothfield tried to calm me but I suffered from this horrible drowning feeling for what seemed like an eternity, in reality, it was probably about 5 or 10 minutes. The hygienist wanted to proceed but I was more than ready to leave and said I would reschedule. (FYI the office charged the insurance company for the waterboarding, I mean cleaning that never happened). I felt that there was little chance of me returning for future dental work but because I do genuinely like Dr. Rothfield I opted to simply wait for the bill and then "work something out" as Dr.Rothfield said. Surly with the miss communication on the bill, the rude dental hygienist, the panic attack and torture that had occurred there would be some accommodation, a discount of some kind in the interest of good business because the experience had been frankly horrible. To me what happened seemed to be the definition of extenuating circumstances from beginning to end. Fast forward to today when I received my first call since my ordeal from Dr, Rothfields office. One of the assistants called and asked for payment. I related that my experience had been bad and the Dr. Rothfield had indicated that we would work something out. Instead of understanding that she needed to escalate this and get Dr. Rothfield involved she got snarky and rude. When I asked to speak with the Dr. she refused, when I asked for her name she refused. She ended the call for no good reason, I was insistent but showed her more respect than she showed me. All I was asking for was her name and for the Dr. to call me. I called back and spoke to Jacki the office manager. I told her quickly that I had been promised an accommodation by Dr. Rothfiled and that I would like her to call me. Instead of the owner taking responsibility I was told that Jacki had been told to "handle it" and Dr. Rothfield would not be calling. Moreover, I was threatened with a lawsuit if I posted my honest review online. I indicated that I should be the one suing. So that's how you earn a one-star review. You ignore your patients request to extract his tooth, you have sloppy procedures when you give patients the pricing, you make a promise of accommodation that you don't hold to, you employ a hygienist who talks down to your patients. And after even after you endanger your patient and flub every aspect of the interaction you don't even have the common courtesy to get on the phone. Well played Dr. Rothfield, I hope to hear from your attorneys soon. Needless to say, I can't recommend Dr. Rothfield. read more

She's simply the best in the field, it's a real privilege to be treated by someone with the highest level of skill, training and experience. She is very gentle and compassionate, if you are nervous about dental procedures have no worry, her gentle hands and skilled staff make sure your treatment goes fast and painlessly. Zero wait time in the office. Staff is very kind and skilled Dental Hygienists will keep your teeth in tip top shape without trying to offer unneeded services as some other providers often do (the "deep cleaning" scam is very common at less reputable offices). On every level of care, the skill and caring is outstanding. Dr Liz is a true master and a credit to her profession. Costs are reasonable and if your plan covers her services or not, it's affordable dental care of the highest quality nationwide. read more

Dr. Rothfield was very firm with me on my first visit due to my years very bad gag reflex. She coached me during the next few visits and I overcame my issue. When it was time for me to relocate to North Florida I was fearful and prayed that my issue would not return when seeing a new dentist. Thankfully for Dr Rothfield I did well I highly her to Everyone in the Hollywood FL area. read more

Dr. Rothfield has HORRIBLE bedside manner. She is a narcissist and spends most of your appointment singing her own praises rather than showing compassion or concern for her patients. I was her patient for a few years and believed her self proclaimed perfectionism, I never had dental issues and only required checkups and cleanings. One time When I developed a cavity, she had to inject novocaine. After receiving the injection, she came in the room and asked me to open wide. When I opened my mouth, my jaw locked open and I could not close my mouth. She became irate, insisting that my anxiety had caused this response. She told me if I didn't "pull it together, she would not work on me" and was obviously frustrated and angry as if I was wasting her time. Eventually my mouth closed and we were able to proceed. I never went back to her! Years later, I still have issues with my jaw, my jaw becomes unhinged causing my bite to be off and I have pain in my jaw muscle. My new dentist explained that what happened to me at Dr.Rothfields office was exactly that and had nothing to do with anxiety which I was NOT experiencing during my visit. read more

After walking out on my old dentist (teeth dealership) because they wanted to charge me $1,200+ for a deep cleaning, my sister sent me to see her client Charmine. She happily thoroughly cleaned my teeth without any problems. Charmine was super gentle, gave me great tips to keep my teeth cleaned. Everything cost me less than $100 and I couldn't be happier. read more

Had to move to Fort Lauderdale from Hollywood but I do not want to change dentists so I drive here for my appointments. She is the best, the appointments are always on time, teeth cleaning specialists are good too. As far as price goes I have tried other dentists before and I think the prices are fair you don't feel like you are paying for extra unnecessary jobs. read more

I trust Dr Liz explicitly. She is brilliant, knows her dentistry, evaluated and corrected my problem. Any other dentist would have performed some kind of surgery for the money! Boy you got that right Andrea a. She sure doesn`t have any bedside manners. She is not fit to be a dentist. She treated me so mean kept treatening to dismiss my case if i didn`t calm down. After I already paid her $920 dollars. Needless to say I found another Dentist who is awesome very caring and wants everything to go well for you. Love her and her entire staff.
