I was so impressed by his office, his staff, and his professional demeanor. After my X-rays were taken by his assistant, Dr. Lewis came in to review them with me. He explained my options, as well as my recovery process. Surgery was a success! Approximately 3 weeks ago, I missed a step, and broke my ankle. I was able to get in to see Dr. Lewis immediately. He made me comfortable (as the pain was excruciating), and put me on his surgery schedule immediately. I, now have pins stabilizing my ankle, and am still recovering, but I'm doing great! I broke my ankle in the midst of this crazy Covid-19 Pandemic, and was apprehensive about going into a hospital for surgery. (Here's where it gets good) My surgery had to be done under general anesthesia. Dr. Lewis cleared the entire operating room while the anesthesiologist intubated me, to keep me safe. He is the G.O.A.T of Foot/Ankle doctors in my opinion.

Dr .Gideon Lewis used surgical hardware which actually was to big for her foot. These issues were to be observed by another local Podiatric surgeon. The new surgeon who corrected Dr. Gideon's "hack job" stated when performing the surgery to correct everything, that he could actually pull the screws and brackets that were all loose and he could pull the hardware out with his fingers. My wife used a bone stimulator as requested by Dr. Gideon, it didn't help heal her foot.THE PAIN WAS SO UNBEARABLE! SHE REQUESTED AN APPOINTMENT AFTER SURGERY AND DR. LEWIS SAID THE PAIN WAS FROM SCAR TISSUE. WELL OF COURSE THERE IS GOING TO BE SCAR TISSUE SINCE EVERYTHING WAS LOOSE AND WALLOWED OUT FROM DR. GIDEONS POOR CHOICES DURING THE SURGERY. I TRULY WISHED MY WIFE WOULD HAVE CHOSEN ANOTHER DR. his bedside manner is arrogant and condescending. My physical therapist, Alison Burnham, is the clinical lead and was wonderful to work with. I've have PT for my back a few times over the last several years after being severely rear ended a few years back and again more recently, and have been to different AdventHealth Sports Medicine & Rehab locations each time. My most recent occasion at this location with Alison was by far the best - she is attentive, engaging and seems to have a great holistic understanding of ways to help and heal. I've also done therapeutic massage over this past year with the massage therapist on site, Daniela, which has also been really great. She focuses on problem ares well, notices if something seems to be causing pain, and is incredibly caring. I recommend this location, and especially these practitioners, for physical therapy and therapeutic massage to all!

My father has stage 4 terminal cancer, and due to their inability to properly receive and process a referral, five months were wasted. After numerous phone calls and repeated follow-ups on my part, the staff eventually stated that Dr. Durfee had reviewed my father's case and scheduled an appointment. At that time, I explicitly confirmed that insurance authorization had already been completed. However, just one week before the scheduled visit, we were informed that the authorization had never been submitted. To make matters worse, we were then told that they do not even accept my father's Humana insurance. Additionally, after speaking directly with my father's oncologist, I learned that no one from Rothman Orthopaedics had ever contacted their office, despite me being told that a consultation between Dr. Durfee and the oncologist had taken place. This level of miscommunication, misinformation, and administrative failure is unacceptable--especially when dealing with a patient facing a life-limiting illness where time is incredibly valuable.

Dr. Desai was very happy with my progress and I graduated from appointments for my hip. I was given an injection for pain in my left knee which should have me feeling pain free for about three months or longer. I have decided to take this route until knee replacement surgery is completely necessary. If you are in need of a surgeon that is caring and experienced in hip replacement and knee replacement surgery Dr Desai is an excellent choice.

I was then promptly contacted and told that no authorization was needed and I could be seen. Expecting quality orthopedic care. I went back and was seen by a PA in the clinic. She was friendly, but her exam skills were limited and she didn't appear super confident in reading my imaging results. My X-rays were taken without confirmation that I was not pregnant and I told the rad tech not to worry that I wasn't pregnant just before shooting my images.... I was told she would order an MRI for my condition to further evaluate and was given an imaging centers handout. When I called to make the appointment on Monday, I was told no orders were in the system. I ended up getting an order from my primary care and proceeded that way. I did receive X-rays while in the clinic, and as of the morning of 9/2, these images have never been formally read by a radiologist/I have no image results in MyChart. I am fairly disappointed with my overall care at this facility and went in expecting some answers and resolution of the continued pain and discomfort I'm having but instead was told everything was fine and to keep "doing what you're doing" without any formal diagnosis or prognosis. I wouldn't recommend going here. I think you're better off with AdventHealth and Rothman. Their X-rays get read by a radiologist AND are reviewed by an Ortho trauma team every day. If you want the run around and to waste half your day at this place to get zero answers (and a probable stomach ulcer from all the naproxen/ibuprofen you've been taking) then this is your place! Maybe if you have a huge fracture it is alright, but for something that is common and requires certain X-rays for comparison views or a proper diagnosis, I wouldn't come here again.

Save yourself the time and just go to another local Urgent Care…read more After my experience, I do not recommend the walk in clinic at all and regret not going to a different specialized Orthopedic Urgent Care in the Winter Park area. I it's too bad, everyone kept saying how Jewett was the best, but I totally disagree and can think of other places I should have went to be seen. Your images from your visit will never be reviewed by a radiologist and you'll leave with more questions than you walked in (and wait in an empty waiting room for over two hours) with. If you have an obvious fracture that's run of the mill then this probably works, but if you want more pain after imaging (a lack of toe standard images needed to exclude the condition you're worried about) and no results on your X-rays from a radiologist or MD, then you should come here! I don't think I'll ever be back to the walk-in clinic and am truly unhappy with my experience here... And I still have almost two weeks to wait until a Doctor can see me (which will be 4 weeks out from my injury with no definitive diagnosis from the ED or the walk-in clinic)! That's ages when it comes to Ortho care and it's crazy a simple condition can't be properly evaluated and diagnosed... :/
