It's extremely frustrating to pay hundreds of dollars and still have the exact same issue. Extremely Unethical & Zero Accountability** I had an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience with Roto-Rooter. They were called out to address a clogged toilet, and during the service, their plumber **broke the toilet tank** and left it **loosely placed and unsecured**, which later caused significant water damage to the unit below. When the flooding occurred as a direct result of their actions, Roto-Rooter was called back to address the issue. Instead of taking responsibility, they **claimed nothing was wrong with their installation**--even though our maintenance staff had already fixed the sloppy work they left behind. Although they removed the cost of the tank from the bill, they **refused to accept any responsibility** for the damage they caused or for the improper handling of the repair. Their refusal to acknowledge fault, despite clear evidence, shows a lack of integrity and accountability. I would **not recommend Roto-Rooter** to anyone seeking honest, reliable, or ethical service. Service was pricey -- I had a bit of sticker shock, though nothing is cheap nowadays for skilled labor -- but they were able to send someone within the first 36 hours, days before anyone else. Leroy did yeoman's work of what seemed like a simple problem, but actually was a bit more complicated, and required special tools to fix. I requested a quote for a whole house water filtration system and two men came out. I showed them the system on line that I wanted. The cost was $2090 with free shipping. So they just needed to install it. When I got the estimate they quoted $6375 for materials and labor and $3560 for installation only. That means the system was quoted at $2815 plus tax. Second complaint is they wanted $3560 for installation which was ridiculous. I replumbed my whole kitchen and bath for less than that. After 68 years of use it was time to have a ten foot section of my old concrete pipe replaced. The scoping of the line showed a clogged place. And after digging to the concrete pipe it was discovered that the bottom of the pipe was gone plus clogged . They also replaced a section of cast iron pipe. Our storm drain was clogged and backing up on our parking pad. Created a nice little pond, but not what you want on your parking area. Kenny came out the first day. After about an hour, with no luck clearing the problem, he suggested we have Geo come out and pin point exactly where the problem was. Both were very professional and informative. We need more work to get the drain running again. Geo gave us an estimate for the repair. Yes, water problems are always expensive, but they followed through with a solution. Although when the service tech arrived the service was quick and efficient, I was very disappointed in my "scheduled" appointment. I was told between 8 am and noon and the tech did not arrive until 3:30 pm. I was texted around 1:30 that he would be arriving in 30-45 mins. Well he finally arrived 2 hrs later. When I called to get a status update around 3, I was told that he was coming from Olympia. Not sure who the dispatcher was, but there is no way one can get from Olympia to Bainbridge Island in 30-45 mins. I called and spoke with the reception lady to schedule a plumber. I specifically asked if they can fix or bring the tools to fix my issue, I.e. The drain hose and drain pipe to the dishwasher needs to be replaced. I asked the lady if there will be a service fee in addition to the labor (also assuming he can't even fix it, I did not want to be charged as some companies do). The guy arrived and of course, did not have the tools to fix the issue. Instead, he told my wife it will be $105 for him simply telling her what the issue was and that $75 will go towards a 1 gallon of preventative pipe shield liquid (something that is $25 on Amazon). I would like the owner or manager to contact me, as there is nothing resolved as of yet for our plumbing situation and we are pretty frustrated with the poor service. read more

If you are in Seattle area, avoid these guys. I had an emergency flooding and called them in Sunday mid-day, and they gave me an appointment for next Monday day with a 4hs window and never showed up. They never followed up with the delay and when I called to get them cancelled, they make you re-call dispatch to confirm (bad service). When I called them at the middle of my time window to confirm, they said I was next in the queue which sounds like a like since on cancellation they said "we have a lot of backlog in that area". My sense is that they are understaffed but they havent stopped committing and setting people expectations correctly via follow up. Calling one of their competitors from the seattle area (Beacon), they told me they would be here in 2 hours, already a pretty impressive feat. read more

Contacted Roto-Rooter for leaks in the driveway. It took 4 phone calls and describe the issue 4 times to get a date for technician to come. On appointment date one person from Roto-Rooter called and is still asking what is the issue. The person then says he might not need to come out at all. The job should cost $15 to $20k "because the house is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars", he said. I am not rich enough to hire Roto-Rooter, in my opinion. read more

We had rotor rooter out for a simple pipe repair in our upstairs bathroom. Which they initially fixed however in doing so the pipe also cracked. Which they put a bracket over and when I called about it they said they don't guarantee their work. I had to call another plumber out to fix the problem their technician made. After that was all fixed we found out it is going to be over 3k in damages from the water nit including what it is going to cost to replace the floor that needs to be ripped out cause water damage. Edit at the beginning: in response to this business trying to create strong optics as though they care, my wife contacted you the same day this review was written. She spoke with someone and was told the regional manager would contact her soon. 9 days later, no response. I see absolutely no reason why I should privately respond to Pat, who responded to this review below, when they ignored my wife. We were supposed to have someone come out to look at our hot water heater between 12:00-4:00. They called around 2:00 to say it would be between 3:30-4:00. At 4:15, we called and were told they'd come around 7:30 pm. We called around 8:00 and were told they'd come the next day. When the repairman finally showed, he looked at the hot water heater and instantly said it would cost $2700 to repair- which is $1000 higher than the closest estimate we received from other companies. There was absolutely zero inspection. He said this was the normal flat rate and also complained that he doesn't like the brand of hot water heater we currently have and he doesn't want to work with their equipment. I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to do than post a bad review, I honestly feel like there's really no room for ambiguity here. read more

This is rip off company. The first guy came and said the cable stuck at 25' could not get it to moved. The second guy came and scoped the sewer pipe. And told me cost $30k to replaced the sewer pipe down 10' feet deep. He said the pipe was collapsed. They charged me $650 and I ask him for the video proof and he never send to me. I call other company to come out scoped again, paid $900 to jetted the line and took care of the issues. The sewer pipe was not collapsed. It was lots of root clogged the pipe. read more
