There is both the pub side with TVs for sporting events, and the dining room side with a log cabin type classic feel. Wait staff are extremely friendly. Got here just before a rush - the place does get very busy! Appetizers we ordered the tapas trio - which is your selection of 3 apps. We got the chicken satay with an awesome peanut satay sauce, the deep fried cauliflower, and the truffle potatoes. The truffle sauce for the potatoes was amazing. Very complex and just enough to split. The main course with the braised short ribs with the mashed potatoes. You don't have the upgrade the side - the mashed are a staff favourite. When the main course of braised short ribs came, it was amazingly tender, fall off the bone, and the sweet sauce was just right. The creamy mashed potatoes and veggies made a perfect finish. Cannot compliment the place enough. It lived up to the reputation and we will be back again! Great place for a dinner with friends or family just a few minutes from the slopes.

Our server was really good and the food was really good. We tried the non-alcoholic guava mule. The guava was nice and sweet and complimented the spicy of the ginger beer. We ordered a French onion soup, steak Diane, and a beef Wellington. The entrees came with choice of salad. We tried one of each , house Gibby salad and the blue cheese wedge. This was a lot of food for us. The French onion soup was my favorite, good flavor, lots of onions and that nice browned cheese top. Both salads were good, the house salad was a little lighter since the blue cheese wedge salad had a rich blue cheese dressing and bacon bits on top. The steak and beef Wellington was also good. In general, we ordered medium rare, it was a little bit rarer than I expected but not I'd edible. So something to think about if you need your meat to be cooked more. The prices seemed fair for a steakhouse and for the amount of food we ate.

Walking in, the atmosphere struck me--it's dark and cozy, but still well lit enough to feel inviting. We were seated right away. I was a little worried about how we were dressed, but the vibe turned out to be pretty flexible. We saw everything from nicely dressed couples to a bachelor party--complete with the groom-to-be in a hotdog costume! The menu was straightforward but impressive. Every entrée comes with your choice of a Gibbys salad or a wedge salad with blue cheese, plus a potato (do yourself a favor and get the Monte Carlo--you'll thank me later). For my appetizer, I ordered the French onion soup. I've said before that certain restaurants have the "best" one, but this version may actually take the crown. It wasn't oily, and it was perfectly topped with a generous, melty layer of cheese--the way French onion soup should be. I followed that with the Gibbys salad and a 12-ounce filet. I love a good filet, and this one hit the mark. My husband went for the lamb with the wedge salad and enjoyed both thoroughly. By the end, we were far too stuffed for dessert, so we called it a night. If you're looking to splurge on a memorable, romantic dinner in Montreal, Gibbys is the place to go

The place is really hard to fine you definitely need the address if you don't want to get lost. We didn't have an address before we did some research on Google and finally found a street where it was on. When you first get in it's very dark because I don't believe the entrance have a window. It only took a minute or two before someone came to help us get seated. When we arrived we were the first customer in the place but when we received our meal it was a lovely couple that arrived. Of course we had to order the plates that we did. After all we did come for the steak. The steak was very good perfectly cooked, For some reason I ate my entire frie it was so good honestly I could've ordered an extra side of frie. The price is definitely a bit more expensive than where I usually go but I don't mind spending on quality food. The place where we were seated had beautiful window and you could see the beautiful landscape in the back. It was a nice wooded area kind of made me feel like in twilight. I will definitely come again and next time I will order a side of Frie.

The service was not good. People that came in well after us got there food before us. Our waitress was definitely overwhelmed and getting clumsy as a result. She knocked a woman's purse off her chair and a glass of water over. She was forgetting things and just seemed overwhelmed. When we finally got our meals they weren't good. I ordered the filet mignon with butterfly shrimp. The shrimp was split open but still had the shell / legs on it. I don't believe the steak was actually a filet and was definitely overcooked. I had ordered potatoes too in lieu of fries and never received them. I asked the waitress about them. She apologized and said they would be right out but I never got them. They were on the bill and I had asked that they be removed. My daughter and boyfriend's meals were just ok. No real flavor. Overall it was disappointing and overpriced for un flavorful food. I would not go back or recommend.

He got the 4 course dinner (fantastic deal for the money) and I ordered a half rack of ribs. My ribs were very good, but a bit fatty. His dinner was incredible. It started off with one of the best french onion soups I have ever had. It was the perfect appetizer for the cool winter. His main course was filet mignon, which was tender and perfect. Dessert was delicious - apple crumble with ice cream. Loved this place!

We ordered a variety of things (including things we wouldn't usually order to try and enjoy the full experience). We had a special that they were having that night similar to a charcuterie board, croquettes, hangar steak, lobster spaghetti, fries, bread and pickle, and a scallop soup type dish (I forget what it was called and honestly it was my absolute favorite most unique dish). The service is outstanding and our server was so knowledgeable and helpful. The space is small and intimate - perfect for a date night!

Overpriced bad food!…read more The filet mignon's texture is mushy, dried, and cold. It feels like some low-quality, unfresh meat. For $89 per 6oz serving, I expect the meat will be cooked perfectly and of top-notch quality. The bread served with escargot is hard and chewy; scallop soup is lumpy and lukewarm; the double down foie gras is just two pieces of hard bread which barely has any foie gras; duck breast sliced into 6 thin pieces serves with breakfast sausage; the meat is cold, covered by a gluey sauce; the presentation is disastrous. Asparagus is cold, and the cheese sauce on top is cold too. Maybe it's supposed to be cold? But it is weird to serve as a side of a meat course.
