This place is always busy! We went for Friday fish and some beers. When ordering, I was asked if I wanted my salad before or with my dinner. I said before. The salad came out within a few minutes which was nice. It was tasty and fresh, but I don't feel it was worth the $7 price. Despite my choice to have the salad first I barely had the chance to have two bites before the main courses arrived. The fish and sides were fine but nothing special. I would go to Tracks instead next time for Friday fish. read more

The coolest spot in Spooner! It's nice to see a hip new place bring life back to the old town of Spooner. New places come and go here because they just don't have what it takes to attract people. They have nothing that stands out and usually have the same menu and sub par service. This place certainly stands out. Tasty food, good drinks, good service, live music, friendly atmosphere, prime location. The food is fresh and not previously frozen and then deep fried like most of the other restaurants in town. The inside is nice and spacious and has lots of seating to accommodate large parties. I really hope this place sticks around. I highly recommend. read more

A nice birthday dinner at the Round Man Brewing Co was anticipated. Instead, we left highly disappointed and with a bad taste in our mouths. When asked if there were good vegetables in the 'rice bowl' the bartender said, "Oh yes." I envisioned a large bowl of rice with a variety of vegetables but instead was served a 6" soup size bowl of mushy rice with maybe 3 zuccini - sliced to equal six. No other vegetables and the additional shrimp, at an additional cost of $8, were 6 small salad shrimp. For $22, it was the worst value I have ever experienced. To make matters worse, the owner came up and asked how our food was. Because he asked, I expressed my disappointment and said I would be writing a review. He left, came back and accused me of 'threatening him.' Totally unprofessional in our opinion. We won't return. read more

Opted for a couple of appetizers and a flight of their beers. The flight consists of their 5 flagship beers, all very good, especially the "Mortified", a very nice pale ale. The food & beer here is good. Been there twice. Had the Pork Tenderloin which was excellent. Wife had a BLT, although the bacon was over cooked. Son had a Cheeseburger, which was good. My complaint is the service. When you see the waitresses standing around talking instead of refilling drinks, checking on tables, etc it says to me they haven't been trained properly. Both times weren't busy nights. Refilling glasses, checking on how the food is, is all part of the job. Since they're a brewpub, you'd think they want to see if we wanted another beer. After reading all the great reviews, we decided to give it a try. We were very disappointed. I had the grilled chicken with linguine in a pesto sauce. The chicken was very good, but the linguine was WAY past al dente and was actually soggy. Additionally there was so much sauce that the pasta was swimming in it. Not the way pasta should be served. My husband had the Friday night fish fry and was equally disappointed. The fish was overcooked and was quite dark and crispy. A lot on burnt breading for a small piece of fish. read more

Can I give it zero stars? Service was slow, food trickled out one person at a time, with the last order showing up about 40 minutes after the first. Then when I tried ordering a 2nd beer to drink with my lunch, they finally brought it out AFTER everyone was done eating, and only because we grabbed another waiter to find out where it was (our waiter had disappeared). When we finally got our check, it then took another 30 minutes for them to figure out how to split our check into multiple cards. And no offer of a discount or comped food. Will not be back. 5-Stars, so friendly and welcoming! I called ahead to make sure they had dine in. The hostess who answered the phone was so inviting. I decided to dine in and I was not disappointed. Great beer, excellent service, and an excellent menu as well. I sat at the bar and my server/bartender was so sweet and friendly, thank you! My meal, the smoked pork chop was cooked perfectly and arrived rather quickly as well. It came with veggies (cooked perfectly crisp and juicy) and mashed potatoes. What a cool and unexpected spot. Our group of 5 stopped by on a rainy Saturday and it was absolutely packed. We put our name in with the host and were told we would have about a 30-minute wait. We were lucky enough to find spots to belly up at the bar. We all started with beers (their Cranberry Sour is SO good), which we all enjoyed. We then ordered some cocktails which were even better! Their smoked Old Fashioned was as smooth as it was trendy. We ordered the Charcuterie Plate for four and it easily fed all 5 of us. They had some great and unique cheeses, pate and cured meats. Don't let the name fool you...this place is much more than just a brewery. Unique cocktails, a short but totally adequate wine list, and some of the best food we've had anywhere! The service is outstanding as well. The waitress gave us great suggestions, and the chef came over to introduce himself and make sure everything was to our liking (it was). This is my third trip to Round Man. I have to say it is a great addition to Spooner. Friday Fish fry is one of the best I have ever had. Staff is great, doing their best, starting from scratch. Jeff, the owner has been there every time I have been there. If you see a negative review, ignore it. Give the place a try and see for yourself. Nice place to get a beer but our lunch was really disappointing. I had the Cesaer salad, was mediocre. My daughter ordered the macaroni and had one bite, the cheese was runny and noodles were under cooked. My wife did like her goat cheese sandwich so it wasn't a total bust. The waitress was nice and they did a good job on the atmosphere so hopefully they can get their act together in the kitchen. We don't live here but if I did I wouldn't come back for their food. read more

We were so thrilled to see this place open over the winter. We have a cabin in the area and have wanted someplace great for the occasional dinner out. RMB delivers! Their house brewed beer is delicious, and the food was a delightful surprise. I had the beer nut crusted chicken, one of us had the pork chop, and another the meatloaf. Everything was flavorful and well executed. The pear chutney on the chicken was clearly house made- sweet and savory, beautifully balanced and a fabulous flavor combo. Ordered to go food while passing through. The lady on the phone was very pleasant, inquired if I also wanted to order beer to go and helped pick one out based on my tastes. We ordered the prime dip and poutine and was told it would be about 30 minutes. It was a busy place and sounded like eating in may have had a long wait if you didn't reserve ahead of time. Food was ready after about 35 minutes and I drove to the hotel .3miles away. Within 10-15 minutes we were sitting down to eat. The sandwich was smaller, but full of meat. However, it was cold. Not even a little warm, though the fries were still warm. Thank goodness for the au jus to dip in as it was also a little dry. Overall the sandwich was fine. The poutine...when we first opened it I noticed there was no gravy. So we just had melted cheese on fries. Then we quickly noticed the weird thing on top...was it strange melty-then dried cheese strings? No, it was actual string! What?!?! There was a circle impression on top the previous melty cheese - not sure what was put on there and not sure if we wanted to eat it. The Red Right Hand beer was good and filling, though I did have to go back to the check out to get the beer as it was originally forgotten when I was handed my order. It's busy, it happens and is forgivable, just glad I remembered before getting out to the car. The building looks very cool and loved the vibe. Extremely disappointed in the lack of service! We were celebrating 2 birthdays and we had decided on going here for lunch. We sat at the bar and Amanda set the drink menu and 2 menu's out for 3 of us. Then she actively ignored us, even though we all greeted her blank expression she gave us, with smiles. We order a drink each, chatted with other customers at the bar and set out empty glasses near her side of the bar never to be filled again. She never asked to take our food order, so after an hour at the bar we all rose from our seats to leave and go someplace else where they cared about service. While we chatted with the woman down the bar she told us she waited 15 minutes for her drink to be made. There was wedding in the side room she had come from, where she said no one was serving the guests, we saw the bride come out and look down the bar for anyone who worked there to assist her....now ...on her wedding day the bride should be the last person tasked with looking for service for her guests! This was our second time visiting the Round Man and we brought our neighbors back for dinner this time. Of course we had to have the Old Fashioned cause the smoke in the glass is just so cool. The beers are great too. The food was better than I had expected. Loved the duck nachos and the chicken dishes were great. My husband thought the sandwiches were on the small side but the entrees were generous portions. The bar design is beautiful and the live music was such a wonderful surprise. We were given several recommendations to try this place. Our server started out so friendly and we were excited for our experience. That was the start of a two hour dining experience that should have been an hour max. Drinks took too long and were messed up, sandwiches took over a half hour to come and the fries were cold. We sought out a manager to get us our bill, who then deferred back to the server and it took another 10 minutes. It was disappointing considering the restaurant was not busy at all. Nice atmosphere but that's where the good experience ended. We went on a Friday early evening. I ordered a "perch fish fry". Now this is Wisconsin! Perch means PERCH that is native to this area. As soon as I saw it, I knew that this wasn't like any perch I ever had in this state. One bite and I pushed the plate away. It had a funky taste. Not just "fishy" but actually funky. Native perch is light and buttery. This was really bad. I asked our waitress and she said it wasn't local. In fact it was ocean perch! We are a long way from the ocean in Wisconsin. My husband ordered a 1/3 pound burger. It was a third of the size of the bun. It was round and burnt on both sides and cooked through. Zero moisture. Looked like a hockey puck. We visit this area once a year and I can assure these owners that we will not be back. Our friends were just as displeased with the food as we were. Then there was the epic prices! Went there for lunch Saturday...have to say we weren't impressed. My husband's burger was overdone, although his beer was good. I had the roasted veggie sandwich - do not order it!
