They wanted a recommendation of where to buy boiled crawfish. I immediately recommended your store in Zachary. My cousin called the store and was told that she could pre-order to pick up next day which she did. When she called the next day she was told that no preorders would be honored and everything was first come first serve. She called later in that morning and was told that there was only a small amount of crawfish remaining and was told by the jerk working there that she "should have f...ing pre-ordered to get the full amount". I can tell you that I will NEVER recommend your stores to anyone ever again, and I do not plan to shop your stores, even if they are the last resource on earth. You have a nice day. read more

I'll preface this review with the fact that I've shopped in many Rouses Having lived and worked in both New Orleans and Baton Rouge and I had high hopes when they took over LeBlancs in Zachary. However it has continued to decline with tables of rotting produce, the salad bar being, first thing in the morning stocked with clearly wilted and uneatable spinach, old olives and other items that looked either old or like they had been sitting around for days. There were tons of friendly employees all working hard yet still I witnessed disgusting produce on shelves and general dirtiness from bags of molded rolls just piled on the floor to vegetables rotting on display. read more

I'm not here everyday so I don't have that everyday experience, however, it's a big nice store. Tons of selection, good cheeses, deli, prepared foods. The place is well lit and very bright - the staff was friendly. We found some unique items we were looking for and they also had a great bread selection. Our main reason for going there was to pick up some bread for the large family dinner gathering for Gumbo that his Mom made - WOW. I was looking at some shelves of Kombucha - plenty of choices and nice to see it here. In the front of the store were some hand crafted benches and homemade wood works - many with LSU chiselled into them, and one with the Saints. Why - because this is LSU Country!!! read more

First trip to Rouses after hearing a lot about this place. First and foremost - for me, it's all about the produce. If you have a nice produce section, chances are really good (in my experience) that the rest of your store will follow suit. The produce section here was really nice! The store itself was clean, and selections seemed to be pretty good. There were a pimple random things I couldn't find, but it could have been just me not being familiar with the place too. The location in Zachary is awful, the lines move way to slow. The food quality is poor I can't tell you how many times there has been moldy or rotten vegetables and herbs in the produce section. The meats and cheese choices in the deli section are all ROUSES brand . The bakery section used to be good before they were Rouses now they SUCK ! The meat prices are terrible and hardly any choices. So, first impression was very good. I usually wait until I've shopped somewhere a few times before I write a review but I was bored.... Seems their produce selection was very good. Relatively large store for the area. Very clean and tidy when I was there. Their prices are on par for a nice grocery store. This particular location has an ACE Hardware Inside also. What guy doesn't like a hardware store!!! Win win! I will definitely shop here over the filthy WM down the street. If anything changes I shall update this boring review. read more

Went in last week.....what happened to our beautiful store ? Produce disgusting, store not very clean, rotten onions & etc. FIRE THIS MANAGER ! It's a disgrace ! Yet they are still raising prices...wouldn't buy from them if they were giving it away . I would be ashamed if I owned this store. Used to be clean, could always depend on them for good meat & produce but has really gone downhill. Won't EVER buy there again...thanks Rouses for nothing but inferior products. It was ok. The workers are polite but it look & smelled run down. If it was just a bit clear I would of given it another star.

Rouses took over Leblancs which I do miss! I do have to admit they do have a lot more ethnic items which I really like. The customer service is okay but not as good as it use to be. Rouses does offer some good sale prices though . I like the mushroom area they have and heirloom tomato area. They also have a good seafood section. I do wish they would bring back the leblancs king cakes they were the best king cakes around ! read more

Recently moved to the area and was excited about having a Rouses so close. Unfortunately, this one is nothing like the others I have been to. I went last night and the bread section was almost completely empty and forget about the produce section...no bananas and it takes forever to dig through all of the damaged produce to find an unbruised item. They need to replace the management or something like that because the whole place is not at all what you would expect from a Rouses store. read more

So after almost two years since I wrote the last review I thought I would update it. I have gone to Rouse's in Zachary a few times since the last review. Mostly I avoid it and go to Baton Rouge or St. Francisville. Nothing has changed. The store is still full of clutter. The employees, especially the check out employees, are inefficient and are more concerned about having personal conversations rather than checking out the customers in a timely and professional manner. Last night I was there and the check out person was engaged in a conversation about going to church and who she knew there and other personal things. Literally, I waited five minutes for her to finish her conversation before she starting checking me out. I have been (several times) to the new Rouse's off Burbank at Lee near LSU in Baton Rouge. That store is excellent. After going to the LSU location I understand why many people love Rouse's. The service was great, the store was not full of clutter and it was a delight to shop there. Unfortunately, the Zachary location is the neglected red headed step child of the chain. If they had some real competition I am sure things would improve. But as it stands now, they don't have to improve because the other two options in Zachary (Winn-Dixie and Wal-Mart) are just as bad. read more

Rouses is one of my favorite grocery stores! The employees are VERY friendly and helpful! The store is always clean. They carry some of my favorite brands like Quest bar, Halo Top. They always have great sales going on. I just wish they would carry more flavors of Halo Top Ice cream. I have to go to Baton Rouge if I want a wider range of flavors. They don't deserve a one star! But had to click something! Bought beef soup meat and it was stanky funky!! I should have known better just decided to give another try! Bought gumbo crabs there for thanksgiving and they ended up being bad!!! Had to throw out all the damn gumbo! I will not be back! Horrible! Nothing at all like Leblancs! Had a particularly nice experience today at your Zachary store when checking out with some boiled crawfish and other items. The young lady doing the checking (Laneisha) was extremely pleasant and carefully packed everything. She even noticed one of the plastic bags was leaking and put it in another plastic bag so it would not drip crawfish juice in my car. Then apologized to the customer waiting for the delay. This should be commended. These type of pleasantries make a difference with your customers! read more

I'd have given 5 stars but the deli is "iffy and that's is sometimes why we shop at Rouse's. Produce department is stellar. The clerks are great. We asked for a certain item and bingo the manager had it ordered and in stock and it is still in stock. Thank you! read more

This is not a Rouse. It might have a Rouse's sign but is far from an Rouse's. I was very excited that when we moved from Thibodaux to Zachary that we had a Rouse. Boy was I wrong this store is not up to Rouse standards and the employees that I have had interactions with are not up to Rouse standards either. It is worth the drive to just spend an hour in the car and go to Baton Rouge Rouses and skip this store. I sure hope Rouse fixes this store before it gives them a bad name around Zachary. read more

Very disappointed with the Gentilly cake at the Zachary Store. Check expiration dates closely.

Always has everything we need. Organics, select cheese, and other hard to find products. And, a great wine and beer section.

I go to Rouse's almost everyday. I'm so sick of not having lunches put out by the deli! When there are 4 wraps out, that are clearly from the day before and a very limited selection of other things at noon, this is a problem! I wanted one of the "eat right with rouse's" to go meals, which is a complete joke at this location, but they were not out yet! I saw the girl preparing them but it was noon! They should've been out! I also watched the girl put a stack of crackers in the containers then eat one! WTH?! With gloves on, she put a bite of food in her mouth then continued to assemble these snack packs! I'm done and this is why I miss LeBlanc's! read more

I've bought two cakes from here and a fruit tray and chicken salad croissant tray. They were ok. Definitely not worth the price. The cakes were mediocre, the fruit tray was full of fruit that wasn't ripe and was cut into huge pieces and the croissants were half filled. Should have just made them myself. Just don't want someone else to waste their money. read more

Service is terrible! There are never enough cashiers so the lines are long. Since Rouses purchased this store from LeBlancs it has gone down hill. I now shop at Audubon Market in St. Francisville. read more

I think I'd be better off shopping at Walmart, which I can't stand to step foot in. I walked in today at 5PM and there were no shopping carts... not one. Once I found a shopping cart, I couldn't make my way through the store with all of the clutter. I definitely couldn't pass through the front on the store near the registers because every register that was open (3) had people waiting 3-4 shopping carts deep. The staff is no where near as courteous and helpful as Leblanc's staff was. Poor selection of produce. Poor management, and it shows in every way. I dread stopping at this store. It is as much of a hassle shopping there as it is Walmart. This store provides no where near the experience Leblanc's did. I would be completely embarrassed if this were my establishment. We can thank the Zachary Rouses for our new Costco membership. We rather drive to Baton Rouge once a week than shop at Rouses in Zachary. read more
