Well, it looks like it's been over 5 years since my last visit (and review). I really do love this store. The bakery is to your right as soon as you walk in. The flan immediately caught my eye, so I had to buy a slice. They have hot, prepared foods you can order to take to go. In the back corner, there is a fresh juice stand, produce to the left of that and fresh meats in the rear left corner. Whatever Hispanic and Latin foods you may be looking for, they will most likely have it. I was hosting a cooking class event to cook a Mexican dish and they had everything I needed there. My only (minor) complaint is that the store is very cramped, so not a lot of space from when you walk in and the line for the register. So yes, you get really close to other patrons. During COVID, it's not really a store where physical distancing is easy to do, nor is it enforced. There's always easy to find parking, too... always a plus =) I look forward to being back.

I love to shop here. They are well stocked with a huge variety of fruits, veggies, spices etc. They also have a food section where you can actually see them (charcoal) grilling the meat. There is also a bakery inside.

    Delicious lunch selections.

I stumbled upon this amazing store on accident, but I'm glad I did. Walking through the doors you are greeted with a wall of beautiful cakes! Cakes that make the famous "Berries Chantilly" look average! Lol The bakery is filled with delicious fresh breads, and pasteries. There's a chilled section with fresh salsa, mago cups and sandwiches. Then there's the Grill!!! You can smell the chicken on the open-flame grill from the doorway. The lunch bar is plentiful and loaded with items I'm ready to try. I decided to grab some rice. The staff was friendly. If you're bi-lingual that would be helpful when reading product labels. The facility is clean and well ooerated. There is only one entrance for customers. The meat market is housed in the back of the store. You can find anything from ox tails to gulf shrimp at low prices. The produce section is loaded to capacity with beautiful fruits and vegetables. This is an alternative to Whole Foods if you ask me. Great experience! Highly recommended.

Red beans with rice, cassava which taste kinda like a potato, and a stew pork feet and tripe that was literally melting in mouth.

Love the food and juice here! Delicious! Everyone could be friendlier but it's a super market so you get what you get.

    Cake Goddess - Disappointment

I hate writing negative reviews because the cakes at Cake Goddess truly are delicious. However,…read moretheir customer service and policies have completely changed my mind about ever ordering from them again. I placed an order on a Thursday for a very simple 8-inch cake -- no fondant, just basic icing. Only two hours later, I called to change the pickup date and was told the "process had already been started," so absolutely no changes or refunds could be made. For such a simple cake order, that response felt unreasonable and inflexible, especially given how quickly I called back. A little customer service and understanding would have gone a long way. It's disappointing because the quality of the cakes is excellent, but policies like this make customers feel unvalued. Unfortunately, this experience will keep me from ordering from them again.

I am so disappointed. I have ordered custom cakes from Cake Goddess before, and I was always happy…read morewith the outcome, but the customer service has always been a bit rushed; so in order to have the time I felt I needed, since I wanted to order a custom wedding cake, I scheduled a consult, which cost me $25. On the phone, the girl asked me how many people were going to be there and which 5 flavors of cake we would like to try. She also asked me where the wedding venue was (so I assumed at this point that they would deliver.) I did explain this was going to be a custom cake, and it would only be me at the consult, and that I only needed the two flavors (almond w/white and yellow w/chocolate.) When I arrived, I sat down with the consultant who brought over two cupcakes (almond w/white and yellow w/white - which was NOT correct) but, no big deal - I know their cake is good. Then she proceeds to pull out wedding cake sample books. I explained again that I did not want a traditional cake, but a custom cake and began to show her the design. At that point, she seemed less than interested, and explained they do not do edible images, so I pivoted and gave her another design that they could do with piping and fondant. She didn't give ideas, she didn't offer solutions, she just sat there like she was bored. She then told me that they would not deliver a cake that was not three tier or more. So I was supposed to come and pick up the wedding cake while I was in the middle of getting ready for a wedding? Why even ask for the address then? At this point, I decided to just go elsewhere. The attention to detail was poor, and the enthusiasm for a sale was poor. I also suggest that when scheduling a wedding cake consult that one say up front that there is no delivery (I would have even paid extra. Price was not the issue.) If I had know that, I wouldn't have wasted my time or money.

And fish-shaped taiyaki or bunggeobang pastries that feature custard or red bean filling--warm and sweet with a crispy exterior. The ube cookies were the only items that didn't blow my mind as the ube flavor was lost amongst the food coloring and white chocolate chips. The ube ice cream however was solid, with a mild and lightly sweet earthy flavor similar to taro or matcha. 8/10 recommend especially if you've never had bingsu or ube. My favorite was definitely the fish-shaped pastries, a very impressive replication of the Asian street snacks sold in the wintertime.

I also got a custard stuffed taiyoki that isn't pictured and it was DELICIOUS just watch out for hot custard burns!
