Nice sized but overcooked, a little chewy. I got swiss and mushrooms on it; the swiss was processed and the mushrooms came from a can. But they never bragged about artisanal fare. It wasn't bad, and I'd probably get another burger there...maybe just a plain one though. Would definitely get french fries again--they were excellent. Thin cut, crisp, put me in mind of McDonald's fries on their really good days. There were about five people there when I came in at about 9:00 on a Friday. They left quickly, leaving me alone with the bartender, before a couple came in a bit later. Didn't feel out of place though. The bartender was friendly, and I got into an interesting conversation with the couple. Very comfortable hangout, even with a thin crowd. Do be aware Hoppy's does not take credit cards.
