The service employee that I worked with was personable and helpful (and funny). He made the process easy and quick. He kept me updated with the status of my service. He asked me the pronunciation of my name, which is important to me as someone who always gets their name butchered. *** CONSUMER BEWARE***…read more I would first like to say that for several years I had a very great experiences with McGarity & Moser. They always seemed very transparent and honest with their work, for that I was willing to pay the premium for their labor. In the past year I have invested over $2,500 dollars into my vehicle, all for repairs done by McGarity and Moser. For my last inspection I was a bit surprised at the $1,400 price tag to fix several issues with the front sway bars, ball joints, and front axle seals. Immediately after getting my vehicle back my transmission started making a grinding noise that it had never made prior to the work done at McGarity and Moser. I took my vehicle back to McGarity and Moser for an immediate analysis and they informed me that metal had contaminated the transmission via the axle seals and differential. They let me know it would be an additional $2,000+ to get it fixed. When I questioned their clerk, John, he was incredibly defensive and short for the first time in our professional relationship or several years. The mechanic Bob called me back immediately defending their work and claiming that the issue could not have been their fault. Since I had invested well over $2,000 I decided to take my car to four additional certified mechanics (two are owners and operators of their own shops, and two were dealerships) to verify the contamination in the transmission. All four mechanics came back with the exact same analysis, the contamination in the transmission was absolutely due to the work DONE BY MCGARITY AND MOSER. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT THE WATER PUMP AND THERMOSTAT they had replaced 6 months prior for over $900 are DEFECTIVE PARTS AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. When contacting McGarity and Moser in regards to their work on the axle seals and the defective parts they denied all liability and refuse to correct their mistakes and fix my vehicle at no cost. I was incredibly disappointed in the integrity of this business and the employees. It will cost me thousands in repairs and legal fees to peruse any type of legal action against them in efforts to simply make things right and fix the mistakes their mechanic made. I only share my nightmare in an effort to prevent this from happening to someone else. If you take your car to McGarity and Moser PLEASE BE VERY SKEPTICAL ABOUT LETTING THEM DO ANY MAJOR WORK. IF THEY BREAK OR INSTALL ANY DEFECTIVE PARTS THEY WILL NOT ACCEPT LIABILITY AND WILL ATTEMPT CHARGE YOU IN FULL TO REPAIR THEIR OWN MISTAKES JUSTIFYING THEMSELVES IN TOTAL FALSE STATEMENTS. QUESTION EVERY SINGLE REPAIR OR FIND ANOTHER MECHANIC.
