Such an amazing spot to stop and charge no matter what type of electric vehicle you have! It's very clean and the solar panels above the chargers give you really nice shade and the market is a nice place to hang out and grab a snack. They also have it's really neat car wash that gives you the option to have brushed or brushless car wash which is a really cool feature for anyone who is an automotive enthusiast. Ethan and Jordan answered all of my questions and we're super helpful in explaining the layout of the different chargers and how they work. While the facilities are clean and offer free vacuums, windshield cleaners, CCS, Chademo, and Tesla chargers, they completely lack legacy J1772 connectors or even a standard electrical outlet--essential charging options for many EVs. Rove positions itself as a branded power station for all-in-one convenience, but the lack of J1772 charging is a significant oversight. Additionally, the station isn't suitable for larger vehicles like semis. While the site itself is well-maintained and includes amenities such as a car wash, restrooms, and a supermarket, there's no grab-and-go option like Amazon Go, which would elevate the experience. The payment terminals also need an upgrade. A simple tap-to-pay system for credit cards or phones would be far more efficient and avoid the frequent errors caused by the "push start" process. I also noticed that while there's a car wash, there are no clear signs explaining how to purchase a wash or membership, which would make sense for regular visitors like EV owners. It would also be great to see Rove engage more with the community--perhaps through branded merchandise, a car care market, or active social media updates. For instance, I didn't know the station was closed until I drove by and saw it was operational again. That said, the local team is fantastic--professional and friendly. Charging at this location gave me such a rush of emotion, I felt and was treated like a human being. Charging at 2AM to save money, in creepy dark parking lots with zero security and no bathrooms available is what is usual and expected. To be a creature of the night and blend in with other shadowy figures while planning to find the nearest Denny's to use the restroom. As a ride-share driver I frequent these places almost daily or rather nightly. Most nightmares that I have are usually centered around various parking lot scenarios. It's the down side of owning a Tesla. I stumbled upon this place one dark lonely night at %19 battery in downtown Santa Ana. On my way I was bracing myself for what I was going to do if I was attacked. What I found was absolutely shocking. Everything was well lit . A lady (like me) was fearlessly vacuuming her car, and not looking over shoulder. I saw another woman just casually walking to what looked like a cafe but it wasn't, although it did have tables and chairs outside. It was a Gels son's Mini Market!! They sell coffee and bagels, fruit cups, sandwiches and even toys for children! Rows upon rows of water tea and juices for sale, frozen meals (they have a microwave to use) hot pizza and hot togs they sell orchids, succulents and birthday cards. Wi-Fi? They've got it!! More than I can list here. Drumroll please,roll out the red carpet...BATHROOMS and many of them and if that wasn't enough they were CLEAN, CLEAN. They even have an automatic car wash!!! Even indoor seating. The trash cans weren't overflowing I had no fear of rats crawling inside of them! I didn't feel like some outcast I felt human dignity. This is my favorite place to go now (I've only been there twice) today was my second time. I spoke to one of the employees and I found out they are expanding and opening an even bigger one in Costa Mesa next month!!!! read more

This station is EVERYTHING EV drivers REALLY want in a station. During the day, the convenience and selection of the items in-store is top-tier! I charge often in the late evening, after long days working- having the security guard there brings me so much peace and a feeling of safety! Please keep that feature! Every other charging station should really up their game! (I've complained for years about there not even being somewhere at the other stations to toss trash.) You'd feel safe here being able to go sit in the lounge instead of stopping in your car in a dark area. Charging prices are competitive however the Fresh Market prices definitely have the Gelson prices. Little too high for a mini mart. The all gender restrooms are large, clean and smell good. Lounge has tables & chairs and a counter with outlets and free wifi. There's also a car wash, Air & vacuum station and window cleaning stands but no paper towels. My only suggestion is to offer paper plates to eat food in the lounge (saw a kid having to eat his warmed up burrito on a napkin bouncing it up & down cause it was too hot to hold). read more

Honestly I was THE BIGGEST FAN of Rove joining our local Santa Ana neighborhood until I realized they were falsely advertising their 24 hour lounge to Orange County's EV drivers. I pulled in this evening to charge, and had to use the restroom pretty bad too. I plugged in, and stood at the closed 24h lounge door for over 15 minutes. While doing what so many of us know as the "pee pee dance" the security guard shouted at me from across the parking lot. I was glad to even know someone was here, so he proceeded to allow me access to this 24h lounge, and when I returned with my laptop in hand sitting in the well lit lounge connecting to WiFi, he shouted at me again asking me to leave the lounge because he needed to lock up again. Does this sound like a 24h lounge with free hi-speed WiFi for charging customers... certainly not. This is classic false advertising and Rove needs to quickly fix its signage, reminding its patrons that the lounge is not truly a 24h lounge. I always wondered how they would operate in Santa Ana with the amount of transients and homeless wanderers in this area, but limiting the access to the lounge that is supposed to be 24h for guests is a level of scrutiny that I choose not to participate in, and I'm happy to call their Executives out on this false marketing here in Santa Ana.
