Love, love, love this workout! Wasn't really sure what to expect from this class but I always wanted to know proper technique for the erg (row machine) and so I took advantage of a free introductory class. So glad I did! It's my new favorite workout. It's more than rowing; it's also strength training with and without weights in addition to rowing. It's a total workout. And don't worry if you've never been on one of these machines before. The staff/teachers are super friendly, and make you feel welcome. They take the time to make sure you have proper technique so that you don't get injured. And they keep you motivated throughout the entire class. And in my opinion, it's affordable and a monthly membership is totally worth it. I signed up that day and went back for my next class 2 days later, and then again 2 days after that. Buyer beware - I signed up for out door classes. I was given a text code to authorize a charge on my credit card. I was not told they were going to use that code to digitally sign a contract that I had never seen or reviewed with my signature and initials. The day of my first class I got an email telling me out door classes were no longer available. I did not want to exercise indoors so I asked to cancel and requested a refund. This situation morphed into more charges from them and my refund was refused. I will not do any business with them and have reported them to BBB read more

I commute from SF to Belmont for Rowhouse! The instructors, staff, and workouts are excellent. I've been rowing for a couple years (with Embaracadero Rowing Club in SF: www.ercrowing.org). I've never done a rowing class before and took a class with a friend of mine who is a member. It was a great workout. Staff were friendly, provided a tour of facility and walked me through everything I needed to know as a newbie. It's a smaller, boutique gym so there aren't showers but they have clean and spacious bathrooms where you can change. They went over membership pricing and bulk/individual class costs without being too pushy. read more

My 1st class at the Row House was Restore with Elysse 2 months ago. I was immediately hooked! It's become my favorite class, and I enjoy attending Strength and Signature each week too. If not for the location being inconvenient for me and my not having committed to rowing, I would highly consider joining. Rude and unaccommodating staff who seem to care more about getting my money than being a productive workout facility. Never have i been turned away and declined a class when arriving on time and before class starts. So I'm charged a cancelation fee for a class I arrived to on time. You've lost my interest and I'd recommend finding a different facility to workout that doesn't focus on ripping off clients. read more

The staff and coaches at Row House Belmont are all friendly and encouraging. The classes will give you a good sweat, and most importantly are fun! I appreciate that the coaches never called me out for not pushing as hard as I do on my bad days as my good days. Going to Row House is something I look forward to during the week and I especially love the energy and music in Marco's class. The other coaches and staff are friendly but if you're looking for an upbeat class and have never row before, try out Marco's restore class. The only down side is if you end up in a full class, the A/C can't seem to cool off the room so it gets really hot. read more

Great - Full Body workout. I'm lucky to have gone and got VIP treatment as a first comer to Row House. I have row'd a little before but still was a little timid. Rowing sounded boring. But I'm a boring person. My idea of a good time is a steady paced 5k (indoors) while watching Netflix. When I signed up for a free month with ClassPass, I hauled my middle-age self to the most boring exercise class in could find. Specifically, I found myself in Row House's Stretch class, which was the perfect amount of mindless synchronization. I love that it's a full body workout! I wasn't getting much strength training through running/walking, and I definitely felt my sore muscles the next couple days. The pace was perfect for a newbie rower like me. Pretty sure I'll be back to supplement my running. read more

Truly excellent gets-your-heart-pumping exercise spot. Tried it on a whim, but I've been back almost every day for the last couple months. Great coaches and even better community. Can't wait until they open a studio closer to me.... but maybe I'll just start living there if that happens :) Especially good for people who are getting into a regular exercise routine and those who are hindered by past injuries. These chic devices are now available to anyone aspiring for higher level of cardiovascular health and flexibility at the RowHouse. People often make the mistake of assuming rowing offers solely an upper body workout, but an ergometer actually uses 86% of your body's musculature. I'm a nurse and on my feet for hours at work. Since I'm horizontal on the row machine, I find rowing is the perfect workout. It allows me to workout without putting any more pressure on my aching feet after shifts. It's an excellent full-body workout! I often go to Row House after work when I'm tired and finding it hard to motivate myself solo to exercise. The Row House instructors' positivity and energy get me all pumped. My favorite instructors are Lisa and Elysse. I could save money getting on the row machine alone at my home gym, but have been finding it way more fun and motivating rowing as a team and with the instructors. read more

I went to a class this morning and had a great time. I worked hard and felt good when I left. The class had a lot of working together as a team to hit goals while pushing ourselves to do better. It was great that my success didn't hing on the others but we could still push each other. The instructor was kind while still pushing us. There were several employees walking around giving us advice on our form and how to improve and push us harder. I think I am going to sign up to continue going. read more

I took the Signature class as my first class at Row House on August 11, 2023, with Coach Elysse. I loved it and set up a membership right after class. The staff at Row House are very welcoming. I like that Row House is low-impact / high-intensity and a full body workout. I have tried most of the classes and like the variety. The coaches are all so wonderful and really make sure we are all in sync with our technique. I, also, like that most classes incorporate floor work with weights and bands. I have already lost pounds and inches as my clothes are looser on me. I feel better physically and mentally. This inspires me even more that Rowing works! I really love the app, also. This way I can see my results right after class. I would recommend this class to anyone, and for sure to anyone who is a beginner again, it would be a great fit. read more
