What a nightmare! Came here because one of the stylists had amazing reviews. After an extension consultation, where we discussed color and length, she made my hair too blonde, too long and not thick enough. On my next appt, she said she could color the extensions a bit darker, and they turned out perfect. On my third appt, instead of coloring them, she just used toner...and left it on too long, turning them green. Instead of admitting her mistake, she installed the green extensions in my hair and tried to hide them. When I saw the mistake (a few days later, over a holiday when I was out of town), I texted her. She told me "sometimes that happens". When I asked her to fix it (either by recoloring them or coloring fresh extensions the right color), she refused. In fact all she offered to do was have me buy a full set of new extensions ($$$) in the right color (which I had asked for the FIRST time I saw her) and install those. What kind of professional installs extensions KNOWING they screwed them up? What kind of professional is ok letting their client walk around with green streaks in their hair?! What kind of professional screws up a clients hair and does nothing to fix it?! I'd say someone who is NOT a professional! I have lost work and hundreds of dollars over this "professional's" mistake. On a side note - I did find an INCREDIBLE stylist somewhere else who took one look at the damaged extensions and knew IMMEDIATELY that the former stylist left toner on them too long (most likely because she was texting of talking to another stylist in the salon instead of paying attention to her clients) and was able to fix them quickly, at a low cost and with zero damage. Avoid this salon at all costs if you want a stylist who actually cares about you and your hair! read more

Ejected from chair! I called several days in advance to make an appointment because I was going to travel 577 miles to get my hair colored and cut at this salon. (We reside in a rural area and planned to get my hair taken care of while on a business trip.) I also arranged to leave my business meetings early to accommodate the time the salon provided. I arrived and was welcomed to the chair and asked what I wanted and then the stylist Ally tells me "we don't have time for a full color and cut... we close at 8". (I arrived at 5:25 PM for my appointment). She offered to cut my hair but a haircut was only 1/2 of what I needed and my main goal was to get a full color. Poor customer service! I met Christy when she owned Aura salon. I was getting my hair cut by a friend that had just graduated school and started working there. I noticed Christy when she did a haircut on a woman near me while I was getting color that was so happy with her haircut she was literally in tears crying. I said to my friend "I want her!" LOL. She was happy to introduce us because I have a lot of hair and my friend knew how picky I was. I followed her to Rowdy and just realized it's been about 15 years since we met. We were pregnant at the same time twice. She's cut my daughters hair since they were babies. I always look forward to catching up with her when I see her. Christy has always done good haircuts and color on me and my daughters. Along with a few relaxers over the years. I refer everyone to her. She always try to fit me in when I call last minute, and if I can't get in with her she will recommend another stylist. Everyone at Rowdy is so nice and professional. So far I have seen Liz, Tia, Brittany, Cally and Anisa for color. They are all really good but I have to add that I really liked the way Liz did my balayage color and styled my hair. I go see Lauren Reeve at Rowdy and she has completely transformed my hair in the best possible way! I went to her with dry damaged hair and she immediately knew exactly what to do. First off over my appointments with her she has given me a color I love! I'm always changing my mind, trying to get it just right, and she's always super patient with me and helps me achieve exactly the color I want and desire! My ends were a dry, split, hot mess. She has been trimming them up and doing amazing layers and now over time my hair has gotten so much longer thanks to her recommendations on these cuts. Another thing that has really helped is her product recommendations. Before, I was always just buying what I thought was best for my hair or smelled the best at a store like Target or Ross. She recommended products carried in the Salon for my hair and I have seen a complete 180 on my hair with products from conditioners and shampoos, to oils and mending products. So I went to Rowdy hair last week to get my cut and color. I had my hair done by a stylist named Mikael. I have my cosmetology license so I am pretty aware of what is a good haircut and what is an absolute mistake. And my hair is an absolute mistake!! It is by far the WORST haircut I have ever received. I repeatedly said that I do not want to do too much with my haircut because I am trying to grow it out and my hair grows VERY slow. He explained to me that he was going to trim up my layers and take about an inch off the bottom.. which I agreed to. Well when I left the salon I wasn't exactly happy with how short the layers were but I figured it wasnt that bad. I was wrong!! I washed my hair the next day and let it air dry as I usually do and I have what we call in the beauty industry as shelves. There are chunks of my hair missing in the middle and all my layers look like square boxes sitting on my head. I have the equivalent of a bowl cut ( like the boys did in the 90's) with longer bowl cut layers! I have been a stylist for 4 years and I have NEVER seen anyone do this to someone! Not even in my 1600 hours at beauty school! And this stylist said he has owned his own salon and has been doing hair since 98'. NOT OKAY!!! If I could give this review a negative star for this stylists work on my now ruined hair I would! Not to mention I paid $95 to have my hair ruined and I now have to pay for extensions to fix this disaster along with having to pay another stylist to do those extensions. If you are going to go to this salon make sure you do your research on your stylist and DO NOT go to this guy. I posted a picture on their yelp page as well. Im sure you can all figure out which one is me... Hint- im the one whos hair looks like my 5 year old son cut it in my sleep! read more

I found the front desk staff at Rowdy very friendly and attentive. I love that they use Moroccan Oil products because they are my favorite products for taming my thick, frizzy hair. My appointment was with Stacie. She was very sweet and gentle. I guess I just expected to walk out of the salon looking like I'd had my hair cut. I think she just didn't have the confidence I was looking for in a stylist and maybe that is because I was new to her. In the days after my visit, I didn't receive one comment from friends or family about my hair. No one even noticed it had been cut. Despite asking for 1 1/2 - 2 inches off, I felt like I didn't get any more than a 1/2 inch off and I spent almost an hour in the chair. I would expect that from a $10 cut at Super Cuts but not for the price they charge. I may or may not go back and give them another shot someday. read more
