I made an appointment with senior stylist Frank over the phone. Two weeks later I walked into the salon and was met by a surly and unfriendly receptionist who also reluctantly washed my hair. Frank appeared out of nowhere shortly after. He did nothing but talk the entire 15 minutes it took him to both cut and style my hair. I was asked a few prying questions about my family. He outright vandalized my hair. He chopped two deep 3 inch layers off the back and left me with a full blown mullet. I had beautiful virgin shoulder length hair when I walked in. Frank gave me an amazing haircut! I had dry, damaged hair from going blonde in the past (my hair is almost black naturally) and Frank gave me the chop I was afraid of for so long-- a blunt lob! it looks amazing and I am still loving it even after the newness wore off! I was getting frequent trims for the last year trying to avoid getting a major cut because I wanted to grow my hair out long like it used to be. I went in for a consultation and shared my past hair experiences as well as my problem areas. My hair was all different lengths, breaking, split, dry-- just awful! I wanted a blunt cut that was all the same length, but I was nervous before the consultation because every time I had gotten my haircut in the past, stylists would add layers. I would hate it! I once cried after a short haircut. This time, I walked out of the salon with the best haircut I've ever had. He listened to exactly what I wanted and made me look better than I expected! Now my hair feels healthy, full-- I barely recognize its integrity! I finally feel like it will actually grow back nicely again, and who knows, I may even keep this style permanently! My appointment was with Frank. I wanted a pixie cut and found a few pictures of what I wanted and a few pictures of what I did not want. I know time is limited during appointments so to expedite the consultation I "marked" the photos I did not like. He did not give me 5 minutes to explain and/or show what I wanted. He picked up the scissors and chopped my hair. I left looking like I had a haircut from a student in their first week of clinic. The salon itself is very sleek and clean, but it has a fun atmosphere. Everyone was smiling and positive. Cassidy gave me a cut and style and I have to say she was INCREDIBLE. Wow. Your response should be an indication to future customers on how you treat existing customers. We were charged $65 dollars for a child's trim that took 15 minutes with no wash or blow dry. Your explanation was that it was all about the time frame allotted for Cassidy and inferred that we would somehow not want her to be compensated appropriately for her services. Prices should reflect services rendered. Please explain to me why your web site says that a haircut and style is $55-$65, a haircut alone is $45-55, shampoo and style is $35-$45 and a special occasion hairstyle costs $65. Clearly, there is some miscommunication here. Simply being upfront about the price and that your salon is not equipped to do a child haircuts in a way that makes sense for your pricing structure would have sufficed. We could have then made a choice to take her elsewhere. Once again, one star for how this situation was handled. read more

AMAZING!! The reviews are true.. I left LOVING my hair!! First of all, let me say I rarely go to a new hairdresser.. like every girl, it's a scary thought as visions of bad haircuts, colors, etc run through your brain. BUT, I found myself in Scottsdale for the weekend and desperately needed to get my hair colored! I had postponed and put it off for months because I didn't have time to drive to my stylist in LA (I live in San Diego so it's a 2 -3 hour drive).. well I decided to take a chance and looked at reviews before choosing David. And thank God I did.. my hair looks amazing and I'm VERY particular. I live in CA so I'm used to seeing a million "bad blondes" but yet I like my hair lighter so it only works well when I'm in the hands of any amazing colorist. My favorite look is that ombre Gisele/Jennifer Aniston golden blonde where it's darker at the roots and sun kissed on the way down and let me say, David delivered!! My only complaint is that he's not in San Diego because I would without question, go back to him! David and Frank have been styling my hair for quite some time, and I adore both of them. I was very excited when I heard they were opening their own salon, so I was happy this morning as I walked toward the doors for my first appointment at the new place! Everything just got better from there. I walked in and was greeted by the staff, saw David's smiling face, and changed into my smock (I like their smocks much better than the ones at the "other" salon). Next I saw Frank's smiling face and was offered coffee, water, tea, or... WAIT FOR IT ... a glass of wine. Uh--YES PLEASE! :-D Later on, I was told they also have mimosas. I might have to try those next time... The color and cut turned out perfectly as usual. I never have to tell David or Frank what I'd like; both of them know exactly what to do to achieve the perfect results. I have seen 4 stylist, colorists over 1 year and I will not be looking any further. David is my guy. Forever. I may stalk him if he ever decides to retire. I cannot express enough the delight this place and Hailey brought me yesterday! I came in for a scheduled consultation and haircut with Hailey without a super clear vision in mind. With only a vague idea, Hailey was able to reassure me, make point of my hair's qualities and conjure up a fabulous hair cut that I've been longing for forever! I went from long hair to a pixie cut for the first time which was nerve wrecking but Hailey was very friendly and supportive. The salon is also friendly, clean and professional which is nice. I got a haircut and blow dry with a master stylist and that was about $60. For $60 I got a hair cut that made me feel pretty about my hair again and I got there in the best way possible! I just had a terrible experience with a colorist. My hair was bronze and reddish. Was so upset that I looked up the best salon to fix color; This is the place that came up. Victoria was very understanding and helpful. She noticed the problems before I explained everything. She came up with a solution and went right to work. Was very cordial and sweet. It is apparent that she enjoys what she does. She did a highlight, color and toner in about 2.5 hours, and Lexxi did a blow out and bang trim. She was very patient even though it was the end of her shift. She also listened to what I asked and worked hard to please me. The price was 20% less than the place that ruined my hair. I am pleased with the results. Next time I may try a bit more low lights to incorporate depth. So I'd just like to apologize to the business for assuming they didn't acknowledge what a balayage was. I am a little impatient. They did tell me my hair was going to lighten up. From the looks of the picture I took right afterwards to today, it has really lightened up and actually looks pretty good. The color is what I was looking for.
