Sold me a brand new car with multiple issues. Communication to get this car serviced is impossible. Any kind of features you're looking for in their new lineup of 2025 would be an utter waste of money considering they don't work 85% of the time. I came here for a simple inspection sticker and was told my tint was 31 and had to be 35. They had inspected this same car a year ago and there was nothing wrong with it. So I had to go down the road to an actual autobody place that has equipment that works to have my tent measured and it was fine so I had to pay to get a certificate, which was $45 and bring it back into the dealership Into their quick lane and wait again for my car to get its inspection sticker which I was supposed to have an appointment for an hour and a half ago. The car was brand new in 2022, and it came the way it was, which the manager questioned. For two years we have had everything done for our vehicle at this location, but they will never see my vehicle or my money. In fact, they inspected it last year with flying colors. The manager brought me the law on a print out, as if I was supposed to know this ahead of time and bring the certificate with me. He said "it's your vehicle. I'm a new Manager and we do things by the book" I guess last year anything was ok. In addition, when I got there for my appointment, the guy in the Hawaiian shirt said hi but the other two people present said nothing. No one else was there. One lady finally asked if I had an appointment and who I was. When I confirmed it, I gave her my keys and sat down in the waiting room. Fast forward to when this same lady tells me to just come back after I get my "certification" that they'll give me a sticker. When I arrived, I waited for a second clerk to get off the phone and said "here's the certificate. I'd like my sticker. I just spent $45 because apparently you don't have working equipment to measure tint", the First Lady told me I'd have to wait until tomorrow due to my attitude. If you value your sanity, your money, and your time, stay far away from Rowe Auburn. My experience with this pathetic godforsaken dealership has been nothing short of an absolute disaster. I bought an F-150 from these inept bozos in February 2024, and it has been a relentless nightmare since day one. Rowe Auburn doesn't just fail; they excel at making your experience an unending parade of frustration and misery. During the test drive, I flagged a malfunctioning power mirror and a suspicious growling noise from the rear-end. The sales manager assured me that the mirror "never should have been put on the lot" that way and would be fixed. They dismissed the rear-end noise as "just bad tires" and wouldn't replace them unless I shelled out more money. They said if I didn't buy it they would put new tires on it and raise the price when they put it back out for sale. Pressuring a customer into buying a vehicle with bad tires???? I should have walked away from these clowns right then but the low price kept me hooked. During the closing process they at least made me an appointment to have the mirror fixed on August 10, 2024. An eight-month wait for a warranty repair this simple? Pretty absurd but I figured maybe the parts were on back order. After I got the truck home for a few weeks the growling in the rear end got worse and worse and when it finally got unbearable, I took the truck in, and lo and behold, the issue wasn't tires but a catastrophic failure of both front and rear differentials requiring complete rebuilds to both as well as a new wheel end. The repairs for that dragged on from the beginning of May to mid July. And guess what? For nearly two months, I was left without a loaner vehicle despite being repeatedly assured one would be "available soon." The service department's communication is beyond abysmal. On any given day you have to call 20+ times just to get a response from these fools, and any voicemails you leave will be ignored. It took a miracle and escalating to a service manager to finally get any semblance of action. By mid-July, I finally got my truck back. I called in early August to confirm the power mirror repair appointment, only to find out that Rowe Auburn had no record of it, despite my clear email and text confirmations. They booked a new appointment but tried to charge me a $125 diagnosis fee for an issue they were supposed to fix under warranty. The service team acted like they had no idea about the warranty, and the whole process was marred by their sheer rudeness and incompetence. The entire time they claimed no record of the repair agreement even though I had proof with the confirmations that THEY SENT TO ME. They said they would fix the mirror for the $125 fee + $450. I told them to shove it, I'd rather have a busted mirror than give these bozos another cent ever again. Rowe Auburn is a disgraceful excuse for a dealership. They will sell you a defective vehicle, ignore your concerns and follow ups, and then mistreat you when you seek help. Their service department is a black hole of incompetence. They have no regard for customer satisfaction or basic decency. Save yourself the headache and avoid this place like the plague. read more

Each time I have come here to have routine maintenance done on my vehicle I have had no issues with staff or wait times. I also schedule early in the morning to avoid any delays later in the day. As we all know, routine checkups can sometimes result in additional work being needed which can result in some of those delays we all dread. The staff is very friendly and their waiting room offers coffee, water, juice and breakfast bars in the early morning all complimentary to their customers. I also take the time to browse the local inventory to see what I may consider down the line as I am very happy with my Hyundai Sonata. I have completed 2 maintenance windows with no issues and the costs were very reasonable. read more

After being disconnected and texting, the salesman finally answered only to tell me I could not purchase I New vehicle from them because I lived in New Hampshire and not Maine!!!!???? Poor business ethics. Dishonest. Their car wash scratched a new car I had put a deposit on/was ready to purchase. Rather than tell me what happened so we could resolve the issue together, they tried making up excuses why I couldn't come in and buy it. I had sold my original car and was pressing the sales guy that I literally need to come in for the car tomorrow because I currently have no vehicle. Only then did he deliver the bad news that the new car had been damaged. They were trying to put me off for a few days so they could try and repair the damaged paint so I would hopefully not notice. This is how you treat your new car customers? Lie and cancel sales appointments to cover up a damaged car? The sales manager involved in this should be disgusted in themselves and reconsider what they do for a living. read more

Let's be clear, Michelle is still amazing; however I just started doing my own brakes and rotors with my buddy who is ASC certified and then some. These people sold me brakes at $200.00 which lasted 5 months. Beforehand it was almost every year I was replacing them. I just thought it was because it was a minivan that it happened so often. This is not good! My rotors were shot because they were the original rotors, which industry standard states you should change them every time you change the brakes. My calipers needed to be grinded where the brakes sat, which they never did, they just slapped new cheap brakes on and shot me down the river. Not to mention a few months ago my coolant was leaking, which I thought was through the main radiator hose. Nope! It was the air release valve; this valve was loose it was almost falling off. Guess who was messing with that last? I will never do business here, their techs have done nothing but cost me a ton of money. Piece of advice, learn to do it yourself! read more

We recently had our 2009 Kia Borrego in for an oil change and a tire rotation. We have owned the vehicle since new. The dealership recommended the 90,000 mile service which consisted of a transmission flush (closed system, so no way to check level) and a coolant flush. The total work cost us a bit over $500, which I thought was on the pricey side, but when you have work done at dealership, it is likely to be done correctly. After driving about 1,500 miles, we noticed the car was shifing hard and hitching, then the check engine light came on. We took the vehicle back to Rowe, and they determined that their was a camshaft failure, which required a major engine overhaul...fortunately the car was still under warranty and after two weeks the engine was repaired at no charge - gotta love that 100,000 mile warranty!!! After bringing the vehicle home, I noticed a puddle of oil under the car. I wiped it up and it came back. I also noticed the same hitch in the car that we had before - I returned the vehicle to Rowe and they determined that the oil pan had not been tightened and oil was leaking out the gasket. They also found that the Transmission was 2 1/2 quarts low - when I asked how it got that way, they told me that it most likely did not get filled properly when they did the transmission fluid change. (The coolant was also low and topped off - looks like not enough of that got added at the 90,000 mile service either.) I have to give Rowe credit for owning up, but it now makes me wonder if any of the other work I have had done there was done correctly. Two jobs; two mistakes. I also can't help but wonder if the lack of transmission fluid and "hitching" caused by it contributed to the engine failure. I complained to the gentleman at the service desk that I would expect more for $500, and was told that they didn't charge me for repairing it the second time around. (I would hope not!!!) Based on the above, I could not recommend Rowe Auburn for any work outside warranty work authorized by the factory. I would say that everyone I dealt with was courteous and respectful, but with the high rates, I don't think it sets a high bar to expect the work to be done correctly the first time around. read more

Bought a VW with wheel locks. Of course, the wheel lock key is not with the car. Just need the 4 lug Bolts removed with the VW key. It should take no longer than 10 minutes to ask a tech to remove them. It would take no more than 2 mins to remove all four. Well, 2hrs later I'm still waiting. Now I realize your techs are working. You can tell me there's not one that could break away from a big job to do this. Or, two guys at service writing desk, one can't do it? Come on man for real? Go to Morong or Thompsons. I am the owner of a 2017 Ford F150 that I purchased from your dealership 18 months ago. words can't express my frustration both with Ford in general and this dealership in particular. To provide some context, I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years and have purchased sixteen vehicles at Rowe for my wife and I over the years. In addition, I have routinely referred friends and family to Rowe for their vehicles and have often been personally involved in their purchase experience. I have done so because I had a solid relationship with my salespersons, sales manager, and service department staff. Unfortunately, I will now be putting my efforts toward steering people away from Rowe whenever possible. My 2013 Ford Focus needed a full transmission rebuild at 7,000 miles. My wife's 2013 Ford Flex spent nearly as much time in the service department at Rowe as it did in our driveway, including almost THREE months in which the entire vehicle interior was stripped out and rewired because their service department could not figure out the cause of an "electrical gremlin". Despite this, I stayed loyal to Ford and Rowe, but my experience with my F150 has been the last straw. My purchase experience was so frustrating that it necessitated two face-to-face meetings with their former GM, Mark Axelssen and multiple calls to Ford Corporate to complain, as they had lied in their advertising campaign (as another reviewer has alluded to here). At 10,500 miles, I brought my truck in for service and explained I was losing coolant. The service dept. simply topped off the reservoir and said it was fine. I brought it again one month later, and again they said there was no problem and topped it off. I returned again 2,000 miles later on April 17th with no coolant in the reservoir. While the service dept. took me seriously this time, it took them SEVEN WEEKS to even be able to diagnose what the problem was and my truck was out of service for a full two months while they rebuilt the top end and replaced the cylinder heads. My truck was returned to me in June 13th. Last week while heading in to work, the truck experienced catastrophic failure and died in the middle of a busy intersection at 7:30 in the morning. I am currently waiting to hear how long it is going to take this time to fix whatever mechanical failure has occurred this time. I am being told the timing tensioner "failed" and they will have to tear apart the motor to see how much damage was done. A miraculous diagnosis given that my truck is sitting in the exact same spot on their back lot that it was a week ago when the two truck dropped it there. Given all of the negative experiences I have had with Ford vehicles as of late, I fully intend to be persistent and vocal with Ford about my disgust with their quality and building a lemon for me. However, given the sheer length of time it has taken to get vehicles returned to me from Rowe's service department, coupled with an apparent inability to adequately locate and diagnose problems in Ford vehicles, my frustration and anger is equally directed at Rowe Auburn as well. I understand Rowe is a large dealership by Maine standards, and I am a small drop in a large well of customers. But let me assure, I will be doing whatever I can to share my experiences with those willing to listen. A very disappointed customer. read more

I never rarely give a business a 1 star review, because there is usually a redeeming quality to the business that brings it up to 2 stars. But not with Rowe Auburn. We purchased a 2013 Kia Sorento LX in August 2021. With three days of purchasing the vehicle, the hood's secondary release fails. We made arrangements to drive the vehicle up to Rowe Auburn within one week to fix it, but we never made it up there because 2 days the check engine light comes on and we find out that the transmission temperature sensor has failed and it is towed to a local transmission center. It took several weeks to get the part and a week or more for the repair. A month later when we get it back we take it to our mechanic and find that the pipe leading to the catalytic converter has a hole in it and needs to be replaced. This vehicle was inspected by the Rowe Auburn dealership service department on 7/27/2021 and we are told by our mechanic that the hood release and catalytic pipe should have been caught and fixed during inspection. I have called Rowe Auburn at least twice, and was told that the general sales manager would call me back. No return call, no email, no letter. We do not trust Rowe Auburn's service department after what happened and will not take our car to their dealership for service. We also definitely do not trust Rowe Auburn to work with their customers. Next step in this situation: We plan to file a complaint with the Maine State Police on Rowe Auburn's service department regarding the inspectable items that should have failed inspection. We will never buy another vehicle from Rowe Auburn after this experience. read more

They keep in touch with me and my family throughout the ownership of each vehicle to let us know when service is due and when there are open recalls that should be taken care of. They are always friendly and courteous. Tom Mooney has been our salesperson and the service team of Rob Robertson, James Richardson and Deb Laplante have always listened to our problems and worked to resolve them in a timely manner. I took my 2001 Hyundai Elantra gls here for a recall repair and was not informed that i needed to have full coverage insurance to get a loaner car until after my car was checked in. I ended up paying $70.00 for a rental car from Enterprise. I was told that my repairs would be done in 2 days and did not get my car back until the 5th day. When I got my car back i noticed that there was damage on the passenger side of my car. The front bumper had a crease, my passenger side rear view mirror had been moved and I had to readjust it. When I looked at it further I noticed that the paint had been scraped off and that touch up paint had been smeared on the rear view mirror. I also noticed that the door below the mirror was all scraped up and the passenger side rear door was all rippled with more touch up paint smeared on. Above the rear wheel well is still caved in and touch up paint smeared on it. When I mentioned my findings to one of the supervisors in the service department he denied anything happening to my car. I am now dealing with rowes insurance company and have been for the last month. This is the worst experience that I have ever had dealing with a car dealership and would highly NOT recommend Rowe Ford (Auburn motor sales) to anyone unless you plan on dealing with more headache that its worth. read more
