I contacted her during COVID, months before I moved to Alaska. She answered me within an hour and after that, she kept in touch for months as I got ready to move. She spent a lot of time getting to know what I wanted. I arrived in the summer when the market was booming. Every agent in town was super busy, Leslie included. I knew that was happening and I had lowered my expectations. I was ready to do a lot of my own research and driving around. But Leslie had me seeing places the first weekend in town! She did a FANTASTIC job showing me places I might like. She never schmoozed me. She never tried to upsell me. Once we ran into another agent while seeing a place and he was a super schmoozy, slick kind of guy and it made me all the more grateful for Leslie's approach. When she showed me my place she said she thought I was going to like it--and sure enough, I loved it, and now it's mine. :) She knew exactly what I would love. The neighborhood, the price, the style, all of it. She remembered every little detail (for example--I wasn't interested in a townhouse or condo that didn't allow dogs). She walked me through the offer, counter-offers, loan, inspection, and more. She helped me get an early-occupy deal which I *really* wanted. When our first title company got delayed she found a new one! She didn't have to do that--it wasn't her fault the market was backed up. She would answer my texts at 10pm on Friday night, 9am Saturday, and everything in between. She knows a ton of people in Anchorage and she knows the town well. I hope to buy another place in a year or two and I wouldn't even consider using another agent!

Everyone I've interacted with has been professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They take their time to answer questions clearly and never make you feel like an inconvenience. The team is very responsive and communicative, which makes a big difference. Whether it's emails, calls, or maintenance request, they follow through and keep you informed throughout the process. It's clear the staff is knowledgeable and actually cares about doing their job. It's refreshing to work with a property management company where the people truly make the experience positive. I would like to confidently recommend to anyone looking for a reliable, professional, and respectful property management team to look at Nova Property Management.

Honest Review of Nova Property Management (Anchorage, AK)…read more I've lived here for about four months, and I want to share an honest and fair experience. Communication with the Nova office can be very difficult -- phone calls often go unanswered or you're kept on hold with no response. Some staff members, like Christopher, have been dismissive and difficult to work with. When I reported serious maintenance and safety issues, I felt ignored or spoken to in a way that was unprofessional and lacking empathy. However, the reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 1 is because of Sally. If you ever need help from Nova, ask specifically for Sally. She is professional, respectful, and gets things done. She listens, follows through, and treats tenants like real people. If it weren't for her, I would have given this place half a star and advised others to stay away. Sally is the only person who made me feel heard and supported. She made sure repairs were completed and showed true care for tenants -- and that deserves recognition. I genuinely hope Nova understands how valuable she is to their company. In summary: Communication with management needs improvement Some staff, like Christopher (the property manager) , are dismissive and not tenant-focused Sally is the reason I stayed and the reason this review is 4 stars, not 1 Thank you, Sally -- you are the difference.

Ilene Morin REFUSES to have a final walk-through, despite it specifically saying in my lease that I…read moream allowed one per the original lease agreement signed. Her response: "We don't do that here, I'll wait until you drop off the keys then do a walk through on my own." I did the walk-through with a different individual upon moving into these apartments. These apartments off of Laurel Street/Happy Lane are rotting. Vagrants sleep in the laundry room. Laundry machines are coin-operated, and don't work - don't waste your money. Abandoned vehicles end up in the parking lot all the time, which in turn attracts the wrong kind of attention (especially in this location). Location is a hub for vagrants to play, as Campbell Creek is right at our backyard - frequently, homeless camps pop up behind the dumpster. Vagrants have taken over this area, and walks on Campbell Creek have been discontinued due to the erratic behavior of the homeless. There is trash everywhere. Used tampons and empty cups litter the parking lot and lawn areas. Lawns aren't maintained. The building keys were changed overnight and there wasn't any notice about it - so after taking out the trash mid-morning in late fall, I couldn't get back into my own apartment and was locked out. When the locks were finally changed over 2 days later, the new locks to the doors are the cheapest, shittiest locks; due to the cheap locksmith's inability to install them correctly, the door frequently jams as well. During the initial few months of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ilene Morin goes through the parking lot and writes down everyone's tag information. If tags were expired on your vehicle, she gave you a notice that your car would be towed if not taken care of. Further, you better purchase a shovel! Numerous notes have been given to all members of the complex during the winter. If the area around your vehicle hasn't been maintained/shoveled, your vehicle will be towed. If your vehicle "looks like it obviously haven't been moved from its spot within 3 days" she will have your vehicle towed. Temperature doesn't work inside apartments. On a warm-ish day during the summer, be prepared to have 3-4 fans running all day. The heat is unrelenting and there is no relief. Water damage throughout. Overall... these are cheap, not very well maintained apartment complexes. Managers/owners are SLUMDOGS, and as said before - Ilene Morin REFUSES to have a final walk through upon me vacating the apartment. If they want to take the deposit that bad, might as well just say it. It's shady and dishonorable on their part, but hey - whatever they need to make a few bucks, right? You will be the one to suffer if you choose to live here.

I've only been living in my condo for 6 months, which I own, and it's been a headache. The association hasn't helped me at all to solve anything. Since day one, I've had serious problems with a neighbor. She's made our lives miserable. She's called animal control 3 times. I asked the association for help to find out what I could do about this case or file a harassment complaint or something (they rent to someone). I sent videos and audio recordings of the harassment, and even then the association hasn't done anything to protect us. The condominium rules DO NOT PROTECT THE OWNERS and are ridiculous. The rules are silly. It's like someone was forced to write something for the boss to comply with, but they didn't even make an effort to do that. I am a new owner, I had no knowledge of anything regarding this association, right now I am going in to see the reviews and they are not wrong at all with having a mediocre rating, they do not even make an effort to pay attention to the people who live in one of their properties. When there are reasons to call to have some information or something related to my condominium, they always answer me as if I was calling to ask them for a favor, and no, rude lazy people answering the phone. Yesterday I made a call because they are going to change the porch on 4 or 5 condos and as a new owner, I want to have more information and know if I can be one of those people because my porch is already broken, they answered me in a very rude manner and with no desire to do their job, now that I think about it, every time I call the association I feel frustrated and very angry, they never know anything and worst of all they are not interested in knowing anything or doing anything. As an association they should be more careful and pay attention. To this day, I don't even know who the president of these condos is, and I don't want to call or ask for any information because maybe the next time I call, they'll hit me for wanting to know important things. What a mediocre association. All I think about is getting out of here, selling this condo, and buying somewhere quiet, with the peace and respect that every human being deserves and that they don't provide here. When I was renting, the landlord paid attention to everything, and I was just renting. Now that I've decided to buy, I regret this bad investment. I can't believe the association pays more attention and constantly sends complaints about an off-leash dog than about a person being verbally abused and harassed. This is ridiculous. I would like add the stupid letter the manager sent. Annoying

Carrie was the first property manager we ever worked with. We had nothing but problems working with…read moreher. She was inconsistent, flaky, uncooperative, and overall just very indifferent towards us, our renters and our home. She did not serve in our best interest when managing our home. The first set of tenants signed a traditional 12 month lease. However, Carrie drew up a lease for our second set of tenants for 6 months, going month to month afterwards, and then told the tenants that we wanted them out after the 6 months was up. We were never made aware of this, did not request that at all, and did not even receive a copy of the lease agreement until we fired her in May. We threatened to go after her for being in breach of her contract in order to obtain the necessary documents to move forward with a new company. We only found out today July 26th, that the tenants were moving out of our house, after they gave us no notice at all. Carrie told them they did not have to provide any kind of notice since we knew that they were supposed to be out of the house by the end of the month and we didn't know anything about this until the new property management company called me while I was on my way to pick up my son from the sitter after work. Carrie never performed a single inspection on our property in the 15 months she managed it. She did video walkthroughs of the property but never had either set of tenants sign any kind of documentation and never provided us with any kind of report or copy of one. I did not even know who the tenants were and had to pull two of the three names off of a cashflow worksheet and threaten to message them via social media just to obtain their names and contact info. She would ignore me until I threatened her like this several times during the month of May after we gave her our 30 day notice. We had an online portal that were were supposed to be able to access all documents and tenant information when necessary, but there was nothing in our monthly statements except the generic cash flow worksheets. I know now-- having a different property management company that uses Appfolio-- how much information we were missing now that I have a comparison of what these statements are supposed to look like. Carrie did a poor job of communicating with us about anything going on with our home. I informed her when we hired her that we had never rented out our home before and needed transparency in regards to what was going on, especially since we were not physically in the state of AK. However, Carrie would tell us that something broke, and then wouldn't follow up with us and let us know if it ever got fixed. Sometimes things would be fixed immediately and other times it would be weeks or months later. One maintenance request we submitted to her upon hire did not get addressed until May and sat broken for 15 months. We had to have things fixed multiple times, she would hire handymen to do work for "discounted" rates but then things were constantly breaking. We were being charged for maintenance requests from having a maintenance worker come to our home and show the tenants simple things like how to turn on the fireplace, or replace the batteries in the smoke detector, adjusting the closet doors, or replacing closet door knobs. Things that should have been handled in between tenants. Often we would get no rent money or half of a rent check due to maintenance issues that we knew nothing about. The month we fired her we got $136. The month before that we got nothing at all. Out of $1600. Carrie would only communicate via text, citing it was the easiest way to contact her... but would not reply to messages for hours or days at a time. Sometimes even responding late at night or sending text messages about things that were broken over the weekend. Carrie would repeatedly forget our conversations, forget important information regarding our home, forget to contact me or the tenants, and then excuse her behavior by saying "didn't I tell you I have a concussion?" "Did I tell you I was in an accident and I'm having a hard time remembering things?" She did this on a regular basis. One time, I asked a question about something and she told me to stop texting her and to leave her alone. Then she started sending me screenshots of someone else who had been messaging her and told me that it was an accident and that her response was meant for someone else. Carrie was not only consistently bad at her job, but she always went our of her way to diminish my concerns as a homeowner and told me that I was high maintenance and expected too much from her by asking for clear communication regarding our home. Carrie is unprofessional, rude, and incompetent but makes you feel like you're a crazy person for expecting anything different. Filing a formal complaint with the BBB against her immediately, and possibly taking her to court for doing such a poor job.

The biggest issue was the pet policy. We were initially told that cats were allowed, but when we later tried to confirm and move forward, we were told otherwise. This contradiction created unnecessary stress and made planning extremely difficult. I strongly recommend getting everything in writing and not relying on verbal confirmations. As someone in the military, stability and clear communication are especially important when it comes to housing. Unfortunately, that consistency wasn't there, which made the situation more difficult than it needed to be. Toward the end of the lease, we received a non-renewal notice without any explanation, despite following the lease terms. While they may not be required to give a reason, the lack of transparency reflects poorly on how tenant relationships are handled. Move-out expectations are very strict, including mandatory professional carpet cleaning and specific vendor restrictions, which can add unexpected costs if you're not fully prepared. The property itself was okay, but the overall experience with management was disappointing. Between the inconsistent policies and communication issues, I would be cautious about renting through them and would advise future tenants to document everything carefully.

Later, the blower failed, taking over three months to replace. I also went about three months without a working washer and dryer, and there was visible mold on the curtains which I replaced. Keep pictures and records of everything! Maintenance requests were often canceled, and repairs required landlord approval, causing long delays. This was one of the worst rental experiences I've had. I strongly caution anyone considering renting from this company.
