Careless and amateur bake shop. The owner Martha does not take any accountability for her lack of quality service . Did not even offer an apology after I called her to complain about the cookies my husband picked up for our son's first birthday. Then, she tried to blame the transportation from the bake shop to our house which is a less than a 10 min car ride! These cookies were done using old frosting that clearly cracked upon packaging .. they are stale and messy. My toddler can draw better lines than the ones in these soccer fields. Such a huge disappointment despite getting a refund I am left without cookies for my son's birthday party and that's what truly upsets me. Let this be a lesson to you, Martha. Absolutely love this bakery! After searching for so much bakeries, I'm so happy I came across Roxana Cakes! Other places were giving such expensive prices ($250-300) just for a 8 inch cake & 12 cupcakes including the decorations, thinking in the back of my head that it was just too expensive. Of course I panicked then I emailed Roxana Cakes, got in touch with Martha, & she gave me such a reasonable price for the cakes! 50% way cheaper! & I just felt so relieved! She was so easy to communicate with, everything I wanted & envisioned she succesfully done it! Everything was so perfect, she did more than I could ever imagined, the cakes were made beautifully inside & out! Will for sure come back to this bakery again! Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the cake that was made for my baby shower Sept 2015. First, I paid 300 for a tiny cake that barely fed 50 people when I specified that I needed a cake to feed 80. Secondly, the fondont job on the cake was done very poorly. The cake was basically inedible, the fondont was so hard we could barely cut through the cake and the inside of the cake was dried out as If the cake was made a week before and left out to dry up. I was so disappointed and so were my guest. The cake went to waste! I do not think it is fair that I paid $300 for a cake with that kind of result. On top of all of this I reached out through email and phone calls and was completely ignored!! They were very responsive when they wanted to get my money but when they messed up and provided garbage work and product they decided to not respond at all or pick up my phone calls. While everything they create is beautiful & delicious my only word of warning would be: GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING OR VOICE RECORDED. While you may think you hear "FULL REFUND IF CANCELLED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE EVENT, YEAH SURE, NO PROBLEM" & then be all confident so you sign the agreement, but if something happens like the person the party is for has a stroke & you want a refund - Roxana Cakes will quickly pull out the agreement which actually says you "get the full price refunded thru store credit" So you're paying for a service that you cancelled & did not receive but they will not give you your actual $ back?? SEEMS WRONG/BORDERING SHADY. Like if I give a car mechanic $100 in cash to put in a new battery & before he pulls my car in shop & before he ordered the battery I say "never-mind, I just bought one at Costco" ANY business who did no work & did not deliver what you paid for would give you the $ back.. Absolutely AWFUL. We planned a sweet sixteen cake for my sister with a planner and were very happy with the plan. Unfortunately that is where our satisfaction ended. The cake arrived to the banquet hall SPLIT IN HALF! After paying $600 for a cake, the minimum expectation is that the cake is in tact. After seeing this, I immediately called Roxana to let her know, and see what the solution was. Roxana was by far the rudest person I have ever spoken to. Even though I explained to her that I was extremely disappointed but just looking for a solution as the party was in 3 hours, she was screaming at me about some contract that once the cake leaves her shop it is not her responsibility. I was shocked that someone would speak to a customer in such a manner. Not only was she screaming, she never once had the decency to apologize. What kind of a woman can essentially ruin a girl's sweet sixteen cake and not even care?! Needless to say, I hung up and had to stick flowers in the cracked portion to make do. Not only was the cake split in half, no one ate the cake because it was so dry and was cracking-not exactly a desirable trait in a red velvet cake. Bottom line-AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This place is absolutely horrible. They completely robbed me of $700+ and I cried at my baby shower because of them. I wanted a big beautiful cake, instead I got a small rushed low quality one. The sign at the bottom of the cake was on the side instead of the front of the cake. It was obvious they rushed my order. They said they do not copy cakes but the cake looked nothing like the one I asked for. I asked for red velvet cake pops, they gave me vanilla. The cake pops nor the cup cakes resembled the design either! When I contacted the owner she was rude and nonchalant to my situation. She began to yell saying I could take her to civil court. This past weekend brought 4 tier cake for daughter sweet 16th and very disappointed with the Roxanna/Martha, cause 90% of my guest complained & trashed the cake. It was hard, very dried and nasty. I feel if you are paying these places needs to provide good service. I will never buy from you again and surely not recommend you to anyone, very discusting blahhh! And I'm glad I ordered because it was SOOO GOOOOD...YES I will definitely order again and recommend Roxana Cakes. I ordered the glow in the dark cake, cupcakes and cake pops for my granddaughter's 6th birthday party. Although I chose them to do my sister's 40th birthday cake because their cakes on the site looked amazing, I was not a happy camper. I sent them a picture of the cake and cupcakes I wanted and just wanted to change the colors. I had a logo I wanted to incorporate in the cupcakes only, which they did but the cake itself was supposed to be exact. Not sure what they were thinking doing their own thing. Of course they blamed me saying I gave the girl a different description over the phone. I mean I sent everything in an email, why would I change my mind over the confirmation phone call? Why would I send you a picture of the cake I want for you to make it completely different? I will never ever use Roxana Cakes. My daughter and I had a nightmare when we picked up her graduation cake on September 17, 2016. It should have been a V for Villanova and it was a V with 4 corners, cracks on corners and this lady acted as if she did not understand English after she took my money. The cake was so bad we did not serve our guests, we had to eat the cake that the caterer provided. So disappointed with this place cake and service. I hired this place for a birthday party, the cake was not what we agreed. She puts PAPER on the cake people and is not edible. I got a piece of cardboard with the cake design pasted on top. It was the by far the most disgusting design ever. This actually happened to a friend of mine two weeks prior to my event, but i refuse to believe until I got it too. She doesn't own up to anything and pretends to be someone else when you call her and she will not return calls back. Her cakes are not what she designs and verbally discusses. About a few weeks ago I found her bakery online & decided to go give it a try. The cake was supposed to be made for Sunday July 31st & I came in earlier that week to discuss details, since it was a last minute order I paid the full amount for a small cake & 24 cup cakes which came out to a total of $150. When I realized it would be raining the day of the party I called, it was Friday morning, July 29th, (10:30am to be exact, bakery opens at 10am according to website) & told them I wanted to postpone the cake due to the weather. They told me they would be able to try to accommodate me but not for the day that I had moved the birthday party, I decided to wait a few days to see if any slots would open up, later during the week I called again to see if they would be able to make the cake for the Sunday (Aug 7th) she told me it was impossible due to the amount of orders she had to do for that weekend. Since they would not be able to accommodate me I asked for a refund, once I mentioned the refund the woman on the phone (Roxana) became irate, rude and began to yell and talk over me about a policy which I had signed. She told me no refund would be available & the most she would be able to do would be give me a credit for 3 months. Now once I read the policy, no where in it does it state that the FULL amount would be kept in a situation where a cancelation would be done. However, it did state that the 50% deposit is nonreturnable. She later told me that she had made the cup cakes already & had pictures to prove it. I was not In a position to argue about work that was already done. I suggested that she could keep the money for the cup cakes but at least refund me the money for the cake which was never started to begin with. She continued to yell & say that it would not happen, & that she had a lawyer to protect her in situations like this. I, as a customer believe it is ridiculous that someone would keep money that they did not work for. How dare you run an establishment where you are basically ripping people off where no work has been done, it is distasteful & unprofessional. If you are not able to accommodate a customer & they are no longer interested in your business, I don't see the reason in why keeping FREE money which you did NO labor for is the correct thing to do. For someone who claims they have so much business & orders, I don't see why there would be an issue returning money that technically does not belong to you. I believed since we were not seeing eye to eye, she could not make the cake for my child's birthday, she was rude, confrontational, & unapproachable. The best way out of it was to receive the money I handed to her for a cake I did not get & take my business else where. Needless to say the only thing I got out of this was a loss of $150 & nothing to show for it. She offered the credit but after seeing how unprofessional she was I do not want to take part in her business. Money hungry people do not deserve the time of day so I urge you to be careful when placing an order with someone like this. In this case, They're just out to keep your money for work they do not do. To the owner of this establishment, work for your money like everyone else instead of trying to scheme customers with a policy which only benefits one party, yourself! You do the work, you earn the money. HORRIBLE & UNPROFESSIONAL. I'm usually very easy to work with since I too work In a customer service environment & know how difficult people can be. But by the end of this situation I was so appalled, I felt like handing her an extra $50. It's very sad that they needed the money so badly to the point they would stoop as low as keeping money they did no labor for. I do not need credit for 3 months because I do not need a cake made within 3 months. I needed a cake for the date provided, there are no words to justify their unprofessional behavior.
