How efficient is you guys abortion pill?

Hi there! Abortion pills are over 95 percent effective. If you fill out an intake form with us, the provider will also review your medical history and advise you if there is anything that would cause them to be less effective in your case.

I live in Oklahoma. So yeah, it's kinda tough to even be an ally. Do you do recommendations or referrals to locations that may be within this region or how far someone would have to go?

I would recommend that you contact the national network of abortion funds or apiary collective (they help people with funding to travel for abortion or hotels, etc). In Oklahoma, as far as I know the closest may be Kansas, Colorado, or New Mexico.… Read more

They are arguing that this fee is necessary to improve services and technology, etc., which, from my perspective, should not be at the expense of patients, but a responsibility of the business owners and stakeholders who want to be in the health care system and should have a sound investment and business strategy plan instead of having clients paying for the business they want to have. Unless, they are on purpose creating a membership-like model to access OBGYN health care, to appeal to a very specific clientele, in which case, they should be transparent about it, instead of imposing such a fee under the disguise of betterment of their services, and inadvertently, rendering the services possibly discriminatory and less accessible to some extent. Either management did not put a lot of thought on this, or they did, and simply did not care. In addition, there seem to be a lot of turnover, and their licensed providers (who for the most part and in fairness, are pretty easy going), have significantly decreased from when I started going years ago. Only at the beginning I had a consistent provider but that has changed in the past 2 to 3, when I can be seen by whoever is available. Depending on who you talk to whether in billing, front desk, checkout, you may also be faced with somewhat condescending approach, but I am not sure if that is due to unprofessionalism of some of the staff, or if it is a symptom of how they are treated by business management, and they are just simply burned out, with clients and patients ending up as unintended collateral damage. Given the decline of services, providers and quality of customer service over the years, I had been considering switching practice already, but this imposition just did it for me. I rather pay more in insurance, deductible and co-pay for better services altogether, than make my health care dependable on whether I am willing to pay for what seems to be an annual membership fee, which at the end, will not guarantee better care, because it is a matter of integrity and not profitability. In my opinion, it is problematic that for a health care and medical practice the quality of services is contingent upon increasing or imposing additional costs to the patients, instead of making it a stakeholders investment and accountability.

It was difficult, but she was so kind and level-headed about the whole thing, I really trusted her. In my next pregnancy, when I found out my daughter was breech, she walked me through all the options in a very matter-of-fact way. She had no agenda or bias. Dr. Abraham saw me last minute on a Friday afternoon which I do not take for granted. She did not rush this appointment, she took notes throughout the entire visit (detailed with dates) and made me feel like she cared about my well being. She was friendly, very knowledgeable, and professional. I left feeling cared for and in good hands. I did not expect anything more than that after 5 PM on a Friday. She proceeded to ensure that I checked out of the office okay, and even called me after I had left to go over our plan. Even better, she consulted with another specialist on my behalf. I cannot explain in this review how much this meant. A little improvement could be found in the front desk services. I was told I would get a call back and never did; though once I got a hold of the nurse station, they were extremely helpful and kind. Still, I highly recommend!

I would not recommend going to Dr. Lin at Sibley for suspected endometriosis (only go to him if you…read moreare absolutely sure that you have a condition that requires the removal of female organs or parts of them). He belives that removal of one's ovaries and uterus treats endometriosis, and does not think that removal of endo spots and adhesions is necessary (although it is now well established that endo always persists or returns after TH with oophorectomy if the adhesions have not been removed; the endo tissue efficiently uses aromatization to continue to get estrogen). Moreover, he does not disclose the often devastating side effects that come from ovary and uterus removal even when asked directly - he presents surgical menopause as being the same as natural menopause - a mild inconvenience at worst. Nothing can be further from the truth - ovaries continue produce small amount of hormones after natural menopause and we really need them - they are the master conductor that direct nearly every function of the brain and body. Replacement hormones (HRT) can not really replace the natural ones since they provide a steady supply of hormones, while what matters is the natural fluctuations in hormonal levels during the day and night. In my case, I got extreme insomnia and inability to function at the most basic level right after the surgical menopause, accompanied by clinical depression, which do not seem to be resolving for months after the operation. Because the large amount of endo scar tissue on my bowels was not removed, now I have worse endo pain than before the operation. I ended up having to take hormone replacement therapy and sleeping pills every night just to be able to sleep a couple of hours a night. The hormones make my endo grow and hurt and increase my breast cancer risk. I also developed a sensation of pain, pulling and twisting on the side of my abdomen a few weeks after the operation, which turned out to be due to colon collapse in the space where the uterus used to be, worsened by new scar tissue formation. That has made going to the bathroom an impossible task. So as a result of the operation, I have worse endo pain, increased cancer risk, serious new bowel and pelvic floor issues, and a devastating cognitive and physical dysfunction. I used to be very healthy, active, and happy, and my endo pain was controlled somewhat by progesterone prior to the operation, after this operation I am a shadow of a person, have to take pills to sleep, poop, and have any energy at all, and struggle to do the job I love. Please go to an endo specialist if you suspect endometriosis - it is critical to remove the adhesions to achieve pain relief and it is not necessary and not helpful to remove any organs unless you have other medical conditions that justify it. I chose to go to Dr. Lin since my gyn reasoned that he is an oncology surgeon so he should have the skill to clean scar tissue from the bowels and other places, but he did not do that. The last day I felt happy was the day before my operation, since then every day and night have been a misery. I hope my story would help someone get the treatment they actually need! My experience with side effects from the surgery is not unusual, in fact it is very common - check hystersisters.com, and google ovary removal and insomnia, or hysterectomy and bowel dysfunction. It would have been worth it if I had cancer, but it is certainly not worth it for a condition that is not even treated by this type of surgery!

While some of the providers were fantastic, my experience with Dr. Scott Osmun was absolutely horrific. When I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, Dr. Osmun was incredibly negative, relying on scare tactics and outdated data rather than providing balanced, evidence-based guidance. When I asked him to send me literature to support his claims, he couldn't--or simply didn't. Instead of offering support, he made an already stressful diagnosis even more overwhelming. Unfortunately, I ended up delivering with him as well, and the experience was just as frustrating. He insisted a C-section was inevitable because I wasn't progressing fast enough. I requested a few more hours with my doula (most doulas refuse to work with Bloom because of Dr. Osmun), and we used positional techniques--something he completely dismissed--to help labor progress. Sure enough, I was able to fully dilate to 10 cm. Then, he insisted I would need forceps or a vacuum because my baby was hitting my pelvic bone. Again, we asked for more time, and I was able to deliver my baby without intervention. Instead of allowing me the standard 30 minutes to deliver my placenta naturally, Dr. Osmun immediately performed a manual extraction, a painful and unnecessary intervention. His priority seemed to be rushing the process rather than respecting my body's ability to do what it needed. In appointments, he was condescending and dismissive, treating me like I was an uninformed mother who knew nothing--despite my background in health. His attitude, coupled with his outdated approach to care, made me feel unheard and disregarded. That being said, I absolutely loved Dr. Abdalla, Lauren Gordon, and Clare Heintzelman. They provided compassionate, thoughtful care, and I truly appreciated their expertise. However, no matter how great they are, the risk of ending up with Dr. Osmun again has made me switch practices. Another issue with Bloom OBGYN is their annual $100 fee, which feels classist and unnecessary for a practice already profiting from patient care. Overall, while some of the doctors here are excellent, my experience with Dr. Osmun was enough to make me leave the practice entirely. If you're considering Bloom, be mindful of which provider you see.
