After 4 wedding date changes due to covid, my husband and I were so lucky to secure Roy as our photographer. The quality and aesthetic of his work was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Gorgeous shots, composition, and lighting without being overdone. We worked with Roy for both our engagement and wedding photos on the island of Oahu and were so pleased. Without knowing the island very well, we let Roy take the lead in bringing us to his favorite spots around Oahu for our engagement shoot (stopping in about 3 different spots on the water). He knew just the right epic locations. It took just over a month to get our engagement photos back (digitally). On the wedding day, he and his second shooter were super professional too. Again - so many gorgeous and unique shots from our wedding at Kualoa Ranch! We got samples back a month later (about 20 photos) and received 500+ pictures about 4 months later. We hired Roy for his 7 hour photography package, which included the engagement shoot. Excited to see the photo album come back! Our package came with a physical photo album and photos, which were absolutely beautiful. Loved the design of the album! It arrived at our apartment here in California just over 6 months after our wedding date. Communication initially was super efficient with Roy when we were still asking him questions, but note that you may have to email and text him a few times further down the road to get a response. Best vendor decision everrrrr!!! My only regret is not writing this review earlier (sorry Roy). We got married on O'ahu, but did all of our planning from Australia. We loved Roy's style and creative eye after stalking his images online, and were drawn to him because his images tell a story and are artistic - not just the traditional wedding pics. At first, I was really nervous at the idea of FaceTime interviewing our potential photographers, but boy did Roy take away all those nerves within the first 30 seconds. Right from the start he was so kind, genuine and immediately made me feel at ease. When we finally met in person on our wedding day I felt an instant connection and calm around him and his assistant. They made us laugh, made us feel beautiful and captured the moments of our big day perfectly. Then, Roy knocked it out of the park when we did our "post-wedding session" a couple weeks later in Nu'uanu Valley. He was just as excited as we were to stomp through the mud & pouring rain to get unique shots in an entirely different setting. When the final photos came back, my husband and I were blown away! He captured our personalities and our guests and the entire story so well. As a bonus, Roy was a DREAM to work with when it came to communication. We had a challenging time with a lot of our vendors on this, but not him. He was always punctual with email responses and his contract/invoicing/digital download was seamless.
