I received multiple calls from a spoofed phone number, all the calls were using my first three numbers. I decided to answer and it was this company. After going through and almost purchasing their warranty I decided to check online. I am glad I did, they have low ratings on the Consumer Affairs website and I chickened out. When I told the man I would be unable to make the $170 payment he suggested I pay $50. Well I told him I didn't have my cards with me he suddenly became rude. He started to tell me "Well when your car gives out you are going to pay more." I then told him I didn't have the money and if they could call me back tomorrow or something, "No, we are going to close your account today." I told him that I was unwilling to ask my coworkers for $50 and his response shocked me, "Well when your car needs repairs you are going to need to ask them for more money so you might as well just ask for the $50 now." I am extremely disappointed with my experience with this warranty company. I attempted to dispute the actual cash value (ACV) they assigned to my vehicle, which they stated was $4,275. However, based on recent comparable sales--including vehicles sold within the past week at auctions in this region--the value is closer to $5,400. I have been in the used car business for over 15 years and have worked with the same highly reputable dealership for the past eight years. Based on my professional experience and numbers in our region, there is no realistic scenario in which my vehicle could be replaced for $4,200-$4,275 in the current market. When I tried to address this discrepancy, I encountered significant issues with communication and customer service. My handling adjuster states they have emailed a supervisor twice without receiving any response, and my request for a phone call has not been acknowledged. On one occasion, I was refused access to my assigned adjuster and was told I could not dispute the ACV because their valuation comes from a "reputable source." This response was both dismissive and concerning. This situation has now left me without a vehicle for two weeks, and it will be several more days before anything progresses due to the Easter holiday and the lack of response, which has stalled any movement on my claim. I am not asking for anything unreasonable, only a fair conversation and a willingness to review comparable data to reach a reasonable compromise. Instead, I have been met with a lack of responsiveness and an unwillingness to engage. As a customer, I expect transparency, the ability to ask questions, and a fair opportunity to provide supporting documentation when disputing a valuation. The lack of communication and professionalism throughout this process has been extremely frustrating. I am the owner of a 2011 Audi A8. I am writing as I was wrongly denied coverage on a non working strut which is covered under my Auto Warranty controlled by Royal Administration Services. Background: In May of 2022 I dropped off my 2011 Audi A 8 at German Automotive Service Center in Glendora, CA. This was due to the front of the vehicle sitting very low to the ground. A few weeks went by and the inspector from Royal inspected the vehicle. The replacement of the passenger side strut was approved but the driver side was not nor was the pump for the suspension which is also advised by Audi to be replaced when the front struts are to be replaced. The owner of the shop and I were frankly surprised regarding the driver strut not being approved. As it was very clear it had failed (see photos below). The vehicle should sit level indefinitely and not lose pressure in the struts whatsoever if they are operating according to manufacturers specifications. Neither the passenger Nor Driver Side were functioning based on these standards, and the car would quickly lose pressure and not hold pressure on the passenger side and lose pressure within minutes on the driver side. Per the policy this alone would have been grounds for approval of the driver strut replacement. It is also improper and not safe to replace only one strut. There are dozens of articles and my personal calls to several suspension shops (and German Automotive Service Center) which would verify this. Replacement of one strut would make the vehicle lose control at highway speeds. The owner of the shop attempted to call Royal several times and was on hold for extended periods. They refused to change their opinion. As this Audi has the specific sports suspension the struts are in short supply. NO store locally has them. Finally a shop was located in Florida who rebuilds them. Both struts were ordered. Audi stated the struts would be $2300 each and take 8 weeks to arrive due to the pandemic shortages that still exist. So the shop in Florida was chosen due to this delay. The struts finally arrived in early October. The Driver side strut now, was very clearly not holding pressure and a reexamination by Royal's inspector was ordered. They denied the coverage again. I became involved and called Autopom! The broker who sold the policy originally. I spoke to Colgan Martin, who attempted to help. He suggested that I email and the following was sent out on 10/13: "Good morning, I am the owner of a 2011 Audi A8. After several weeks of going back and forth coverage has been denied for the drivers side strut. The passenger side was approved. Both sides are faulty and NOT holding air (please see photos below). According to the Audi manual these should hold air almost indefinitely (and not deflate when the car is off, and level when the car is on). The car is sitting on the ground. By definition they are faulty. One is not holding air whatsoever. In addition on the A8 it is required to replace both struts as the wear on one strut and a new strut on the other side will dangerously affect the steering and driving of the vehicle. Every suspension shop I have spoken to would NEVER replace one front strut. A simple google search also verifies that replacing one strut over the other is potentially very dangerous. According to the policy a part that is affected by the failed part is covered for replacement and this would also be the case here at the minimum. Though both are clearly faulty. This is a car I drive my two year old in and this is unacceptable. If the drivers side is not approved by Friday 10/14/22 I will have no other option but to take legal action against the underwriter of the policy. Thank you and I look forward to your prompt reply." I received no reply to this email. I then called Colgan Martin back and he stated I should call Royal on Monday 10/17/22. He suggested that I request the California Claims manager, by the name of Henry. I called and a person named Dennis at Royal Administration picked up the phone. I asked to be connected and Dennis refused. I brought up the points above, and he still refused to connect me. He also stated that they were not responsible for safety issues resulting from one strut being replaced. He became belligerent on the phone. I asked who their agent of service was and he stated 'I am under no obligation to give that information' and refused. The phone call ended. I inspected the car and took more photos, including the exterior photos and the photos of cosmetic damage caused by BOTH failed struts inside each fender (which showed the strut rubbing against the top of the inner fender. This was present on BOTH sides) The President of Autopom got involved and contacted Henry, Henrys response was provided to me via text by Autopom! Which was a further denial read more

I'm the type of person who severely dislikes advertising. I have an ad blocker on my web browser. I pay for satellite radio to avoid radio advertising and change the channel when commercials come up. I flag all Google ad choices as not relevant. I'm also signed up on the Do Not Call list. You can see my annoyance with advertising, and all the more so when it's pushy and repetitive. Bought an extended warranty from Royal admin for a used truck back in Sept. 2019. Purchased the 12 months/12,000 miles warranty, best one the dealer could offer, turbo included, 4wd included--everything. First few weeks were fine, turbo starts leaking coolant at the fitting on the turbo, also started having grinding and lock-up issues with the rear limited slip differential. Take it in to the shop in my town, they say the turbo line is leaking and it is a cheap part, lots of labor to get to it, however. The differential has metal shavings in it that were excessive. Try and do the first claim on the truck. Inspector comes out few days later the following week, looks at the issues, submits to Royal admin, claims are denied (no surprise), since they were considered "pre-existing" prior to me owning the truck??!!! What?? These were driveability and performance issues that would not let me drive very far to begin with and I drove it 700 miles on it's first trip home! You have got to be kidding me! I was honestly not surprised by this, so I forked out the $600+ for the work and moved on with things. Fast forward to spring 2020 and the truck is starting to have performance issues, gas mpg decline, and a sever rattle on start-up. I look up the symptoms and sure enough, it has been experienced before, "great", I thought, another claim to be denied I bet. Bring it in to the Ford dealership to have them inspect it and risk paying out of my pocket for the diagnosis (dealership woes) if claim is denied, need more time, etc... Well needless to say an inspector comes out, tells them to measure oil pressure at start up (always going to be 0), worthless test, didn't hear the issue, etc... CLAIM DENIED. Call warranty company back, have to beg to get another inspector out and to LISTEN to the dealer about the issues, not just do a random test that would achieve nothing. Second inspector comes out for the same issue (2-3 weeks in the shop at this point) and listens to the dealership, hears the issue, says, "oh yeah, this is a known issue, I've seen this before, I'll report back to warranty company," also mentions why this hasn't been taken care of since it is a known issue?!?! Claim goes back to Royal admin..."I have it this time!" I think. Then they ask for service records, great! we're getting somewhere. I can see the writing on the wall, however, when my service adviser calls them and they say they never received any service records. I check my email, check the address, says "sent", so I re-send it again; never receiving confirmation from them, mind you. Fast-forward 2 more weeks, I call the selling dealer; they route me to "that guy" (the one who is local who can "help" with their company claims). I have to listen to his rhetoric about how old he is, how long he's been doing this, how he used to be a mechanic, dealer, service adviser, worked for every dealership, blah, blah, blah... He then blames the dealer and says they are the ones holding this up, saying they have been lazy about calling, whatever. I get it, man, your job is to ensure that your company doesn't have to pay out, I imagine you get bonuses for every "blocked" claim!!! At this point I'm exhausted from all the calls, the constant checking in, the time, MY time, I haven't had my truck in over a darn month!! This is absurd. Service adviser calls back the other day (end of March 2020 now) and says CLAIM DENIED, because there was no check engine light...... words cannot begin to describe my frustration at this point. I am now dealing with the dealer to get whatever money back I can on this, so that I can pay for a $2500 repair on my truck. TLDR (Too long, didn't read): 3 CLAIMS DENIED, fine print will kill you, most of them say "TSBs not covered" (for reference a TSB is just an approved method of doing a repair consistently, nothing more), even when you have ALL the right documents and proof, they always will find a way to weasel out of it. After all, that is the point of their business--to literally DENY as many claims as possible. Save up your money for when a repair is actually needed, do your PM (preventative maintenance). (my extended vehicle warranty) denied my claim for repairs to my vehicle even though I was within the contract stating "required" maintenance to be done on the vehicle. Per the vehicle manual, there is "recommended" maintenance which was also taken care of. This has been an ongoing battle with them since 5/17/2023. I had to get my vehicle repaired as I have to be able to get to and from work whether or not they denied the repair. I accrued the cost of repairs and rental vehicle costs due to a false denial of service in the first place. This totaled out to $3,612.20. I am seeking reimbursement of these repairs and the five days reimbursement out of the full rental fees per my contract. I asked to speak to a manager and was told one was not available with no attempt to have one call me back either. I got this card in the mail after buying a used 2014 Subaru. "Our records indicate that you have not contacted us to have your vehicle protection activated". Wow, who is this from? Is this some Subaru program? No clue. Called the number and the Big Hustle started. First talked to some friendly but pushy lady who preferred to keep going with her outlines spiel rather than let me get a word in edgewise to ask who they were and the company name (she first told me Vehicle Protection Group). Her protection service was almost as much as I paid for the used car. When I sounded reluctant she said she would find me a special offer that was cheaper and then she was replaced on the call with the rude guy with the hard sell who kept talking over me and went on and on about how they had a triple A+ rating from the better business bureau blah blah blah and how they were partners with O'Reilley auto parts and Autozone and a bunch of other places. Then he gave me the numbers for his slightly discounted offer which was about $4200 spread over 18 months for 4 years coverage. I told him I wanted to do due diligence, google them, read reviews, get opinions about their performance in paying claims, all the while he is talking over me with the hard sell, and now his company is called Royal Administration, not Vehicle Protection Group. Instead of paying $5000 or $4200, I'm better off keeping the money in the bank and if my car does break down, put that towards another used vehicle. Seeing close to 100% one star reviews here, it is pretty clear why they pounce on you and keep pushing to get your credit card number before you hang up, they need to get the hook into you and complete the scam before you go online and look for reviews and read that they seem to be cheating everyone who signs up. read more

They denied transmission work twice once because they said my car was a manual when the vin number clearly says automatic. They question every receipt you send them and tell you it is not valid. SCAM COMPANY!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I have purchased two Royal extended warranties on my vehicle; the first then a renewal when the first expired. The present warranty expires 2/17/2020 or 243,217 miles. A month ago I started having transmission problems like delayed and rough shifting and going in and out of overdrive. Whatever the problem was it was causing the "Service Engine Soon" light to come on. I brought it to my dealership for evaluation and was told I needed a new transmission. My dealer called Royal to submit a claim. Today a Royal agent called telling me that my claim was denied. The reason given was that I didn't have my transmission serviced every 30k miles. My owner's manual shows recommended transmission service at 150k miles. I contacted my dealer asking for them to check their records to see if they performed the 150k service. I was told that I had a minor transmission repair at 67k miles that included a fluid and filter change. My service advisor stated that I didn't need transmission service for another 150k miles. My vehicle has about 196k miles so I wouldn't need transmission service until 217k miles. Today I called Royal fo discuss the issue. The first agent I spoke to took a little info then said they needed the 150k service receipt. I tried to explain and was in mid-sentence when another agent came on. I was actually transferred back in queue. This agent told me that my vehicle manual shows that the transmission was to be serviced at 150k miles period! Even if it was serviced at 149,900 miles it would have to have been serviced again at exactly 150k miles to be covered. I guess one would have to drive their vehicle till the odometer hit exactly 150k miles then have it transported to the dealership making sure it didn't run to 150,001 miles. Folks, this is how these scam companies work. The agent's main job function is to deny claims. It doesn't matter that the manufacturer recommends service after 150k miles of operation. Common sense dictates that if it was serviced before the 150k miles that would extend it to a higher mileage. BUYER BEWARE! After spending around $6,000 in extended warranty premiums I get denied on this. My total compensation on repairs during the life of the TWO warranties was $88.76. Folks at Royal - since you're responding to some reviews I'd like you to address a couple of questions, as I've also received sales attempts for your warranty program. Those selling your "warranty program" aren't doing it for kicks...they are doing it because they are compensated for selling your programs. So call it commission, an origination fee or whatever...it doesn't matter...you have an agreement with these firms that dictates what those terms are, you are choosing/allowing for your product to be sold by these companies and you are not completely removed of all responsibility in terms of how these companies engage consumers, represent the product or how they may attempt to manipulate consumers to purchase your product. Sellers may be independent of Royal and may not be operating under your daily supervision, but are you saying that you have no control in these matters? Instead of defending your distance from the sellers, why don't you, the entity who is compensating those sellers, apply reasonable controls over them? For example, include in your terms with them requirements such as 'complaint volumes observed in (name sources here) exceeding (stated concentration here) will result in reduction of payment by (amount/terms here) or even termination?' Something that hits your sellers in the wallet would seemingly apply a reasonable control. Why do you do instead just say "not us" when responding to complaints about sales practices? If it's because doing so would hit your own wallet, do you seriously think that when you just point at others, where you CAN influence that outcome, you get points for not taking ownership? You're not exactly exuding thoughts of consumer-oriented support in your past responses...yet you expect people will buy your product anyway? I'll choose to write the FTC and AG about experiences like this. They have an interest in sales practices and might want to weigh in on your role in them. It's one thing to be seen as not vicariously liable for the actions of an independent contractor, and another to know, through LOTS of complaints (see virtually any website with reviews about your company), that you may have a problem (some which could be possible violations of law), respond by simply pointing at the contractor that you are paying, and then knowingly choose not to do anything about it. That contractor relationship seems to be awfully convenient. Thankfully, my experience is limited to dealing with sales attempts - looking at all of the complaints about the claims experience, I consider myself self lucky. read more

As a service provider my customers are my most valuable asset. Therefore I go out of my way to protect them when it comes to car repairs. I deal with a lot of extended warranty companies and this is one I hope to never deal with again. They don't pay a fair labor rate making their customers pick up the difference and don't allow for factory parts with the repairs but base the cost of parts off Auto Zone pricing again making the customer pay for the difference. To me if they are selling service contracts on a particular brand their contract should allow for parts made by that brand. Just a bazar experience overall. read more

As you can tell by her comments she specifically admits that my car met the mileage and time requirements under the policy. However then they throw in that it can be "adjudicated" by the company and denied. THATS HOW THEY SCAM YOU! So my car is a 2004 SL500 mercedes so it's not a NEW car. Royal does not do a preinspection prior to coverage so there is no way for them to know or not know what the cars condition is like. So by their logic a cylinder could blow and destroy my engine and they would claim it's not covered because I've only driven "911" miles after my coverage kicked in. What they fail to to realize is that it's a 2004!! Which means one could assume that any part could fail yet they sell you that policy anyway!! Scary isn't it?? So in essence the policy is worthless because even though you are past the coverage period they could deem any issue "preexisting" when I asked this Terry person what mileage would they consider past the "pre-existing" period he didn't say a dang thing. He responded that he doesn't answer "hypothetical" scenarios!!! Really??? Isn't it the whole reason why you buy a policy to protect against future hypothetical damage and breakdowns????? They NEVER quantify or specifically indicate any "trial period" after you meet the time and mileage validation period!!! He shut up after that and said that he wasn't changing the denial. Par for course apparently after reading so many complaints about this company. SHAME on them!!!! As I stated before Royal Administrative is a scam company and I'm not only reporting them to the BBB in Massachusetts and the MA attorney general, I'm filing a lawsuit against them in Texas. My hope is that there is a class action lawsuit against them to finally get this company out of business so they will quit ripping people off. I would give no stars and feel stupid thinking RAS would fix the car. I had a timing chain fail on my daughters 2010 VW CC in November of 2018. We did everything per the contract and took the car to a repair shop of our choice and that is when the trouble started. RAS said I had to purchase a fully loaded cylinder head from Clear Water Heads in Florida with a 5 year parts warranty and the repair shop would install it and give me a 1 year labor warranty. It sounded good but my repair shop told me to look up the company on BBB as they had a client that had a bad experience with the company and had to spend more than $1,200 in labor to remove the head and return it just 2 days after it was installed. I found 6 complaints in the last 3 months stating similar issues. My repair facility also told me they would not warranty any of the repairs if I was to purchase the head and ask them to install it. It took 6 months to approve payment (approval was on 3/27/19). My repair bill was $4,828 and RAS only approved $2,273. I am out $2,555. The reason being RAS only approved $1,065 for parts ($800 was for the cylinder head). RAS decides what is Like Kind and Quality Below is the response from RAS on this issue: . ADMINISTRATOR'S RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. BREAKDOWN OF COVERED PARTS: We will pay or reimburse you for the reasonable costs to repair or replace any Breakdown of a part listed in the Plan Coverage Section, as determined by the Administrator using standard and common industry practices. COVERED PARTS MAY BE REPLACED, DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY AND AT ADMINISTRATOR'S DISCRETION, WITH LIKE KIND AND QUALITY (LKQ), USED, REBUILT, REMANUFACTURED OR NEW PARTS Truly a nightmare. It's been pretty fun messing with this company. I received an unsolicited call from them asking to extend coverage on my vehicle. When I expressed that I wasn't interested, they tried really aggressively to try and "extend" coverage and sell me some sort of services. I went with it for cordiality sake and continued to express that I wasn't interested. Instead of saying "thank you, have a good day" they continued to try and "convince" me that I needed an extension. Eventually they brought on a manager and resorted to insults and wondering why I was on the phone call, asking why I was wasting my time. To be honest, I knew it was a waste of time but I wanted to be cordial and professional. Their tactics were quite shady, but their customer service reps are outright disrespectful and unprofessional. They ended up resorting to degrading speech and insults and I just took it. I'm so sad I wasn't able to record it, but they're really just not able to sustain this long term. Their website is shoddy, and there really is nothing more to add especially when a majority of the reviews here affirm the exact same things about this poorly developed and handled company. Edit: It looks like Debra's response to this review does not address the issue of being insulted and makes no reference to the response of their telemarketers. To be clear, my issue is not necessarily being solicited, but rather the lack of professionalism, or even a promise to investigate my complaint against their employees. But all-in-all this does indeed point out to the lack of organization and possibly illegal and shady practices done by this company combined with the lack of internal review reaffirms yet again all of the negative reviews targeted towards this company. Do not buy a warranty from this company. If you have a claim, they will do everything they can to refuse to honor it. My customer had a leaking crankshaft seal in her Subaru, and they insisted that we remove the engine from the car and tear it down to show the clearly failed bearings, with all of the work to be paid for by their insured! The cost of the labor to tear down the engine is close to actually replacing the engine! This is a common tactic of theirs to actually paying a claim! read more

Thank you to everyone there who help & understood that we are all not perfect and sometimes just need a little guidance to navigate all the systems in this world. Beware of purchasing an extended warranty from Royal. I purchased one (shame on me) back in September 2013 and when I went to use it a couple weeks ago I was told the warranty company cut ties with Midway Chevrolet so I'm sh&t out of luck. I was never notified by Midway or Royal the contract would not be honored so I'm out over $3500 and the cost of the repair of $1100! Two separate Chevy dealers said the repair should be covered per the contract but Royal is denying the claim. This company is a scam and practicing fraudulently. They should be shut down. Every negative review I have read on this company is absolutely accurate -- they don't pay claims! I filed a complaint with the BBB and within 3 weeks I had a check reimbursing me for the repair. It's still quite sad I had to get the BBB involved but it worked out. read more

I firstly want to start with the fact that even though they are thorough on their customer service skills. I was continuously transferred from one person to another, and every time I told them that I was at work and unable to make any commitments to purchasing an extended warranty, they continued on attempting to persuade me as to how some auto repair bills may be daunting if one is to pay out of pocket. They were being very inconsiderate over the fact that I would like to review the information once I was at home. They persisted with bribery, by lowering the costs to the warranty (by the way I somehow was transferred to the accountant), by this point I had them pulled up on my laptop and reviewing the BBB and yelp, etc. She stated that she was informed that the cost of the warranty is something that I would like to discuss, by this point I was annoyed and stated that I would simply like to review the information at home and not at work, also that I want to make sure that they are accredited and accepted by Dodge, since the reviews on here were showing that their coverage was not accepted by other dealers as Royal has stated. The woman on the phone than stated that the deposit, of 190$, would be fully-refunded if it didn't meet my needs and that the warranty isn't a contractual agreement, which in my mind makes no sense if you are having a 4 year warranty extension. She then requested a CC, which I told her I am sorry but I actually forgot my wallet at home today. She immediately said, "you are lying." I couldnt help but laugh, because out of all the days I forgot my wallet. But she said, "no, you are lying to me and I will simply have your information removed and state that you have declined coverage." She hung-up, when in reality I never declined the warranty, I wanted to confirm all their terms and conditions, without having to pay anything. This company only wants your money right away over the phone, they do not want you to do your research prior to. Do not ever feel that you need to purchase something right away, if they are persistent simply say, "no thank you, I wish to do my research and you are not allowing me to do so before I agree." read more
