Friday of Memorial Day Weekend, 5:30 p.m. (One hour ago.) I'm pulling into my garage and managed to rip my front bumper completely OFF. I popped it back on myself, but some of the clips had been busted and the piece wasn't lining up correctly with the front quarter panel (which I damaged). It didn't LOOK too bad... but I was concerned about whether my quick fix would hold -- worried the thing might fly off while I was driving. So at 5:50 p.m. I checked Google Maps for the nearest body shop. Called, and the guy answered, said to bring it in, no problem. 5:55 p.m. -- he ("Ivan," I assume he's the owner) assessed the damage and my fix job. He said I probably had nothing to worry about, but he said he wanted to put on a few zip ties just to be safe. In the process, he secured a couple of the clips I had missed. And then, he put on a touch of paint in an area that had become exposed, just to prevent against rust. And that's it. No charge, "have a great weekend". We discussed pricing for if and when I want to do a proper fix (simply to make it look brand new), and his numbers were totally reasonable. But for now, no charge. IVAN IS THE BEST MECHANIC I'VE EVER HAD! I've never had a more caring and considerate mechanic. He is more than willing to go the extra mile for you be it riding with you in the car to verify you're happy with his work or giving you a ride on his way back into the city. My experience with him was the best customer service experience I've had in any field. I got rear ended in November. My insurance dropped the ball and took nearly a month to send an inspector out. Ivan was patient and kind the whole way thru. Some places would tell you to move ur car. Ivan showed genuine concern in what was happening with the insurance and counseled me in best handling the situation. Ivan was able to make the back look like new and went over in great detail all the work he did. Some places just hand you the keys and send you on ur way. Ivan was more than happy to answer all my questions and concerns and reviewed all the work he did with me so that I could understand what happened. I have used this body shop in the past and found Ivan to be fair and very professional. He does very good work. This time, I saw that he had a car for sale that I liked. It was a repossession that he had purchased from the bank. I decided to purchase the vehicle, a 2016 Toyota Prius C, which was in good condition and had 74000 miles. The whole process was easy and I felt no pressure, such as one experiences in large dealerships. This car had never been in an accident, and Ivan offered a fair price. On the day I was to pick up the car, he even offered to pick me up and gave me a ride to his shop. 10/10 would recommend. I checked out a couple of different places in the Bayview area for body repair and paint work on my driver side door and the decision was easy. I don't know very much about cars and Ivan took the time to explain to me in detail my options and then asked me how I want to proceed. He was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure all my many needs were met. Not only was his service unparalleled, but he had the fairest prices out of everywhere that I checked. When it was all said and done my car looked brand new. He even gave it back to me with a shine. Another great local business in Bay View! My Honda Civic (aka my baby) needed some front end repair on the hood and front bumper and Ivan took great care of me! He is extremely kind, trustworthy, and professional and was able to work with my insurance company to get the necessary repairs done quickly and efficiently. He even took care of some additional dings and scratches that were not part of the claim to make sure that these would not become an issue in the future and made sure that my car was running back to where it was prior to the damages(possibly even better!). This is the second review I am writing. The first showed me living in CA, but I live in Milwaukee WI and that was only for some touch up work that others told me they could not do. This time, about two weeks ago someone was crossing the street from the West to go North on HWY 38. He did not stop in the middle to check for oncoming traffic and he just cut in front of me causing me to hit him. I called Royal Auto Body and Sales to make an appointment and he told me to bring it in the next day. I just got my car back and you would NEVER think it was in an accident. It would have been done sooner but the Insurance Company insisted that they get a used Headlight from a place in North Carolina. Again, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Without hesitation, this is the best experience I've had at an auto body/mechanic shop in 20+ years of owning a car. Ivan is a hard-working, trustworthy, generous, and very knowledgeable car guy. He went out of his way to save me $150 on a repair and cleaned up and polished my headlamps for free simply because he thought they needed it. He both runs the office and works on the cars, so he always knows what's going on with the repair. I bought my car a year ago with a chip in the wind shield, got rear ended shortly after and more so rear driver tire damage from a recent slow moving car accident, where the lady didn't have insurance. I decided to pay for all the repairs out of pocket, Ivan worked magic and crunched the numbers to fit in my budget. Ivan replaced a front bumper for me on a Toyota Corolla. I was happy with his work and professional demeanor, and his explanation of various options, from the cheapest to the more expensive. I chose the one he recommended and was pleased with his work. Last week I had a rear bumper issue where the fender had separated from the body on the side, and needed a clip to secure it. I decided to visit Royal again, and he fixed it for free, no problem. Ivan is honest and does not take advantage of customers. We took our town and country minivan to several different auto body shops in the area and Ivan from Royal Auto Body was the most knowledgeable and honest about fixing our spoiler. So much so, that we also had him fix a dent that was priced 1/2 as much as the other auto body shops. I went to Royal Auto Body. It was honestly the easiest experience I've ever had and Ivan's quote was cheaper than anywhere else. Ivan not only provided me with brand new part options for replacement, but also found a bunch of "like new" options for 1/4 the price (and indeed they turned out to be the same as new parts). But one of the best things about Royal was that they replaced the parts right away while I waited for 20 minutes, so I didn't even have to worry about finding a rental or borrowing a car in the meantime. Customer service is not ever this spectacular especially when it comes to anything having to do with fixing a car. I called Ivan at 12:10 pm and by 12:40 my superficial front end scrapes were gone!! Very reasonable cost for the service. I was concerned that there might be some residual visible abrasive damage, but following the work done, the area involved was good as new!!
