Please don't go here for any services!! They have no guidelines to anything that they do. I asked for an inspection on my car and when my car is having problems a week later and I go back in they're saying things happen to cars and matter of days even with a report from car zone that my battery is bad for my hybrid. I pacifically had them diagnosed my engine and my hybrid battery. I simply asked for the hundred dollars back that I paid, but he was being very greedy and won't even address any of the concerns that I have for the employees not having any guidelines when it comes to diagnosing a car. If I could give this place negative stars I absolutely would. I TRUSTED this place for two years. Two freaking years. They would fix stuff and would say that they fixed it but not explain it to me. I don't know anything about cars. I'd pay and have to go back in 3 or 4 months later. It was until I got angry that they weren't addressing my concerns and said "there's not much we can do for you anymore". Okay. So I go to a new place with good ratings and good word of mouth. I hate mechanics. Hate. There are a lot of dishonest people out there taking advantage of people. A lot of mechanics are just bad businesspeople: just getting someone to answer the phone at a shop shouldn't count as a positive, but unfortunately it does. Toor is a diamond in the rough. Since moving to the south side I have struggled to find a good wrench. Since I discovered this place I haven't taken my car anywhere else for anything more than an oil change. More than once they have taken care of little annoyances without charging me (one of the tabs that held my front bumper in place had broken off, they put a screw in to hold it on). They've always been honest and upfront. They don't condescend or talk down. Their prices have been reasonable and estimates have always matched the actual bill. When they've discovered issues mid-job they have been communicative and been honest about what things need to be given priority and what can wait. I'll go here anytime I need work done. read more

I recently moved to the area and am looking for a good mechanic to take care of my car. I'm going to keep looking. The customer service was excellent, service was performed quickly and I liked that the oil change for my older vehicle came out to a nice flat $20. The waiting area doesn't have wifi, but it does have comfy couches and a tv, table and side area away from the tv. My one concern with Toor is that the mechanic didn't ask for any history on my vehicle and didn't mention any of the problems I know it has. For example, there are small oil leaks on several seals and the air conditioning is completely rusted out with no fluid. I would expect a mechanic new to my car who has done a thorough job to mention these things. Perhaps Toor doesn't include any sort of inspection with their oil changes. Such inspections are usually standard, even at Walmart. If basic inspections aren't included, they should mention it to the customers. read more

TEN star!!! The muffler dropped on my car suddenly and I sped to Toor to have them wire it back up or something. Told them I get paid next week and wanted a temporary fix. They said 'no problem!' In April 2015 I had my front brakes repaired at Toor. Fast forward 3 months and I suddenly had no power brakes. I drove to the nearest chain brake shop to have it checked out. They said that the calipers were installed incorectly by the person that last touched them. As a result, the brake lines had holes worn in them so I was leaking brake fluid. Also the right axle boot was torn from the hanging brake line and the axle had to be replaced. I had the repairs done for $900 and immediately went to Toor with the worn brake lines and axle. I talked to a mechanic there. He was dismissive when I tried to explain what the other mechanic said. Repeating "No way" and "Show me how? You pull with hands." He refused to look at the parts. He said the other mechanic was talking sh*t. He said I was wrong to take it elsewhere and that I should have had the car towed to Toor. read more

It is so hard to find a repair shop that you can trust, but Toor is so trustworthy. A couple times when I brought my car in, Toor told me that there was nothing wrong, or that the repair would cost only a few dollars. Also, they have never gone above the estimated. Didn't know where to take my van for emissions test so I looked up places close to my job and found TOOR. They have a huge waiting area and the place looked more like a restaurant than a repair shop. I was told to pull up car behind 3 vehicles and I was in and out in about 20 min. They where quick and very professional. Just pull up and get the test! It was my first time getting the test done and I found it reassuring that their is a webcam that is connected directly to the state for monitoring purposes. read more
