It is unfortunate that I have to write this poor review, but the crew at Royal Auto were not willing to assist, despite being warned that I would write this and report them to the Colorado DOR Auto Industry Division. I purchased a car from them and about two weeks later a check engine light came on and would not pass emissions. After taking the vehicle to two mechanics it was found that both catalytic converters were bad, and need replaced at a cost of $3,800. Both catalytic converters failing at the same time seems suspicious and I've now learned that it is common for chemicals to be added to the gas tank to trick the car's computer into passing until the next tank of gas without these chemicals in it. Which lines up with when the check engine light came on. I asked for assistance from Royal Auto, and I offered to pay half the cost of the repair and them pay half. (Plus write them a raving review about how great they were). Instead, all I received was that they would do the labor themselves, which was only 10% of the cost of the repair, and I was required to pay the remaining. I was also shocked that their salesman continued to say he wanted to help me but his Owner would not. And when asked to speak with the Owner, I was told that the Owner didn't talk to customers and refused to speak with me about the issue. I've now found that they are in violation of a few dealer sales practices, such as title transfer and lack of emissions voucher, so I will report this to the Colorado Auto Industry Division. These look like they could be large fines, and I warned about this, but Royal Auto didn't seem to care. This doesn't help me, but maybe it will help someone else and prevent this in the future. He figured out the most complex problems with my new car 2018 pacifica even the dealership was having a hard to to figure it out. It took him less than a day to find out what was the problem. Personally, I hate buying cars for all the same reasons you probably hate buying cars... high pressure, manipulating salespeople, the 6 hour grind/negotiations, etc. For the first time in memory, none of that happened to me at Royal! It started with an online inquiry, Rocio called and got my requirements (leather, 3rd row, max payment), the next day she called and had the car that met my requirements. I was dubious, but cleared my entire afternoon and prepared for battle. I swear to you I arrived around 11, test drove, signed papers and was driving home by 12:15. Absolutely TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE experience so far. I bought a truck here and it won't pass the emissions test because of the catalytic converters not working. They've done their "repairs" at some third party exhaust shop with cheap parts, so it still won't pass emissions. I've brought it in 6 times in less than 2 months for the same reason and they've given me the runaround on why they can't send it to John Elway Chevrolet to get it repaired with original parts. I'm in the process of disputing the sale because of fraud. Selling a vehicle that will not pass the emissions test is illegal in Colorado. Do yourself a favor and buy at a more reputable car dealership. You need to buy your car in a trustworthy establishment and this is definitely not it. read more

While I did get a decent car in the end, let's just discuss my experience, shall we? I went and test drove a vehicle on Monday, December 5th, and it was fine, and I wanted it. It hadn't been detailed yet, and they wanted to "fix" things that might need fixing. That evening, I received a call saying they had just test driven it, and the heat wasn't working, so I could get it the next day. Fine. Went and picked it up the next day, and the check engine light was on. They hooked it up to their computer, and magically, no codes came up. Told me it was probably the gas cap. I took it home, and didn't go back out due to some weather we were getting. The next morning, I drove to work with no heat in 10 degree weather. 2 days later, after it had warmed up, I went and purchased a new gas cap, it didn't fix the problem. Now that it was much warmer outside, I figured I would test it again, and see if I could figure it out. It doesn't take a genius to figure out the TRANSMISSION was bad. Wasn't when I test drove it, but while they were "fixing" things, they jacked up the tranny. Now, everything was under warranty, so after 2 weeks of dealing with them, it was finally fixed, and I was on my way. My car is great now, but it has a brand new transmission, so of course it is. Here's my issue: I got the run around, and I don't feel like they wanted to be honest with me about what they did to the car. There is no possible way that they test drove it before they handed me the keys, or their "mechanic" is a moron. Any idiot can tell when a car doesn't leave first gear. Now, to you, Rosio: when you are the one who sells someone a car, and there is an issue with said car, and the customer complains, YOU deal with it, not everyone else. YOU are the one who let me roll out of there with my check engine light on, so when I come back to the dealership not once, but TWICE to deal with this, you get to stand there and look me dead in my face and deal with me and what your people did, not ignore me, or dismiss me to the service people. You get to get out of your chair, and handle the issue. Only thing you said to me was "our service guys really do take care of our vehicles". Yeah.....They took care of it, alright. If you mean destroying a transmission, then you're correct. You wanted me to leave a review and include you in it, so here you go. Again, I did receive a car, but it took 2 weeks to recieve the car I purchased, the way I test drove it. Am I happy with my vehicle? Yes. Am I happy with the service I received, absolutely not. I bought a vehicle from Royal Automotive a while back and since then I have had some significant issues that have come up with this vehicle. I've done some of the work on my own but some major things have popped up that I just dont have the tools or the MONEY to take care of for this vehicle! For example, I had to fix the air suspension and battery on the vehicle shortly after buying, the brake master cylinder went out and needed to be fixed, which I fixed on my own. The biggest issue is now the SUSPENSION SYSTEM which is gonna run a few thousand dollars for fixing! Needless to say I am NOT HAPPY about the amount of money and time I've had to dump into this vehicle since purchasing it. I have been a customer with the Royal Automotive since since they first started many years ago. I have purchased multiple vehicles from them, before they expanded and became "too big" to help their customers. I recently purchased a 2017 Jeep Patriot from them & within 2-3 months the brakes are grinding & the radio isn't working. I have called them multiple times & the manager Jeremy isn't doing anything to resolve this concern. I have requested to speak with Ahsan, who is out of the office due to surgery & his older brother, Anwar the person who started the company & haven't heard back. There is absolutely no way that the brakes would be grinding this quickly. I have never seen such bad customer service from their staff. They have an employee Jasmine who is an absolute witch. She was rude & wouldn't answer my questions directly, only redirecting me back to Jeremy - who isn't helpful. They were a great company to begin with, now I suggest to stay FAR FAR AWAY from these wretched people!!! Let me lead by saying that I bought a 17-year-old car from Royal. And I bought it sight-unseen. How can you get more nervous about a car purchase than that? The short story is that I wanted this car in a specific color that was not all that popular, and when a nationwide hunt turned up one at Royal, I debated myself about even contacting them for two months. The email and phone conversations with Anwar were as hassle-free as could be. Royal delivered the car to my chosen pre-purchase inspection site, and they picked it up later, no hassle and no charge to me. The PPI outfit gave me a report that, for a 17-year-old car, was fairly clean. I called Anwar and we negotiated a price in ninety seconds. I do feel that I paid a premium price, but it was one I had decided I was willing to pay, and Anwar did meet me more than halfway. Anwar's helper got the paperwork out immediately, and had the car delivered back to the repair facility where I had a few things attended to. I flew to Denver, picked up the car from the repair facility, and drove 1100 miles home. Is the car perfect? No. Was it as described? Yes. More (minor) items have cropped up in the three months since, but I do not feel that they were hidden or obscured in any way. It's a used car! If I had to find a flaw in the entire transaction . . . well, I had thought the car could have been cleaned more thoroughly. The interior had several soiled areas (old soil, not soiled by the repair facility) that cleaned up easily, which is what I did once I got it home. The pictures provided were 640x480; I thought higher-res would have been appropriate. Really, that's all I could gripe about. If you approach buying a used car with realistic expectations, Royal is a good place to shop. I was well treated, and I would buy their again. read more

Honestly, I have no idea how anyone has given this place five stars. If you're looking for a place that will sell you a car with nothing down, bad credit and little to no hassle this is the place. However, don't expect to have the car very long. Three months ago they sold me a Nissan Xterra that I traded for my old Dodge truck. Nice right? Wrong! Two days ago the transmission blew completely. A $4000 to $7000 fix! The worst part is that the mechanic said there was no way they didn't know the transmission was going. They sold me a bad car. So I'm out a car, $12,000 (the pay off price) or $7000 to fix it. I don't know about you but i can't afford that nor can I afford to be without a car. Royal said it was my problem and since it's past the month grace period for the lemon law here in Colorado, there's nothing I can do about. Save yourself a couple grand and go elsewhere.
