    Butter tart
    Krys G.

Very friendly staff greeted us when we came in. The counter was filled with all sorts of sweet and savory baked goods. Everything is made from scratch. You can have a coffee and nosh on your favorite freshly baked pastry. There is also a nice assortment of cookies. There was fresh baked bread, baguettes, rolls and buns. It was a hard choice to pick out my afternoon treat. It was a toss up between a luscious looking brownie or a very Canadian butter tart. I went with the butter tart. It had a nice buttery taste. The crust was nice and thin and the filling was sweet and tasty. If you're looking for homemade baked goods check this place out. There is also indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of parking in the parking lot.

Despite being busy the staff were polite and quick. I didn't try the hot food but the baked goods were delicious.

My favorite bakery on the south island for desserts. Seriously talented bakers here and I can't wait to come again.

A very popular bakery in downtown Victoria, and it's easy to see why. We stopped by for pastries…read moreand coffee. The shop itself is quite small, with only couple seats along the wall. Everything in the display case looked delicious, but we decided on the lychee raspberry & rosewater pastry, the pistachio ganash tart and the pork & fennel sausage roll. The pistachio tart was fresh with a rich nutty flavor, though it took a little finesse to eat because the filling kept wanting to spill out. My favorite was the lychee raspberry & rosewater pastry. It was flaky, with a delicate sweetness from the fruits and a subtle floral note from the rosewater. You can really taste the dedication in these pastries. I'd recommend going early in the day as many of their items tend to sell out quick.

We bought a cake here for my mom's 70th birthday and were so impressed! We chose the "Crusty…read moreForest"--their take on a Black Forest cake--and it was absolutely delectable. What we loved most was that it wasn't overly sweet. It had a wonderful, strong fruit component from the cherries that balanced perfectly with the chocolate and a light, thin layer of whipped cream. The cake itself was incredibly moist and executed with such care. It was a total hit for the celebration! I only wish we lived in Victoria so this could become our regular go-to spot for special occasion cakes.

Beautiful place, I love that there's three in one in this building, you have your cafe style…read moreserving coffees, the bread and party spot and then a meat and cheese and grocer restaurant style spot. We ordered a bread loaf at Fol Epi to take home as we've been before and loved it. This time we got the French loaf, it's not full sourdough but still fresh as can be and crusty exterior. I also got an iced vanilla matcha which was delish. We also ordered two danish style cheese pastry wheel things, my only criticism was the cheese was quite cook so it's more of a crunch pastry than a soft one with also a hint of mustard. Service was quick and very nice! Staff was chatty. No pics because we ate everything real fast lol.

One of those places I just stumbled upon that was close to my hotel. I walked in the first time,…read moreand saw some pretty nice baked things...... I then went the second day to get coffee and I couldn't decide on if I wanted sweet or savory. I chose sweet..... and while I was leaving Victoria with my raspberry danish sitting in a nice little bag, I bit into it, and have to say it was one of the best danish pastries I have ever had, it was bakery buttery good, and they do not skimp on the raspberry jelly topping, where some places it looks like they just add enough to call it a danish.... well this was so good and if I had more time I would have drove back down to this place to buy up the rest of what they have. They sell baked loaves of bread, and individual baked pastries, and also coffee.... oh that is really good here too. Fol Epi... you are now on my to go list anytime I am in Victoria, and now looking back at my pictures, there are cookies, croissants, palmiers, kouign amanns...... and more.... I need to try. As another Yelper wrote... I wish I lived around the corner.... cause really I do, but that just makes this one special for a return visit.

Absolutely loved this place! Working Culture Bread was one of the highlights of my trip to…read moreVictoria. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, and everything we ordered was so well done. The orange latte was incredible...bright, slightly citrusy, and perfectly balanced with the espresso. It's one of those drinks you think about long after it's gone. I also had the breakfast sandwich, and it was everything I wanted: fresh bread (obviously), high-quality ingredients, and really satisfying without being heavy. You can tell this place is run by people who care deeply about their craft. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. Highly recommend!

Went here around 11 AM and there was already a long line out the door. I ordered the breakfast…read moresandwich, which is only served from 9 AM to 12 PM. They have three options: vegetarian, vegan, and one with meat. I went with the one that has meat, and my friend got the vegan one. I also grabbed one of the savory danishes and an oatmeal cookie latte (yes, that's a thing, and yes, it sounded too good to skip). My order took a little while, but that made sense given how long the line was. I got my drink first, then the sandwich came out a few minutes later. The first bite was amazing. Super flavorful. The bread was soft and tasted fresh. I tried a few bites of my friend's vegan sandwich too, and honestly, it might've been even better than mine. How is vegan food this good?? I had the danish later at home and it was really good too. Can't wait to go back. I want to try the vegetarian sandwich next time and maybe pick up some of their cool merch.
