They cancel your rides without a reason. They hang out the phone on you, and they keep hang out and don't pick up again. They promise they are going to pick you up, and they disappear. Highly disappointed. Royal picked up my mother for dialysis but didn't go back to pick her up. I called 2 1/2 hours before her pick up time to ensure she had transportation back; I was told yes but no pickup. When I called, I was put on hold then hung up on twice. Driver didn't show up for my daughter's surgery time pick up, and the answering dispatcher was rude without cause.

One of their drivers tried to turn illegally (using the right turn lane to go left) and then nearly merged into my car. I had to lay on the horn not to cause an accident. He didn't like this, sped around me into oncoming traffic, stopped his car in front of mine and opened the door to get out and spit at me. Despicable behavior. read more

Made a reservation the night before for a ride to the airport at 6:00AM. I was put on hold/ignored for about 15 minutes talking to dispatch while the cab arrived at 6:33AM, 33 minutes LATE to the reservation. When I started to ask why he was so late after I made the reservation the night before he proclaimed, "it is not my fault but I will stop and have you get out of my cab". Keep in mind it was SNOWING and 26 degrees outside. I was late to the airport and subsequently missed my flight due to arriving within the 45 minute "preboard". Now I understand that things happen, but call the customer and let them know you will be late and give them a discounted OR a free ride. Terrible service read more

In the ongoing saga of Dan C vs Royal Cab...took the cab when flying back to LA. Forgot to tell concierge no Royal Cab this time. Three positives IMO, I got to pay at the end of the ride and not during. Dude put my bag in the cab, unlike previous driver. Minimal convo offered by dude, which I can appreciate, on some occasions. Bad part - It wasn't quite 8:15 but got the reminder that I was keeping the cab waiting apparently. So I jammed downstairs...but then I had to wait for HIM to finish dropping the kids off at the pool. And no, I dont mean that there was some swim team in the can, Oops, "cab." Why you gonna rush me and then use the bathroom for 10 minutes? Luckily I built in time before going to the airport or this cab driver's bowel movements would have been the cause of missing Thanksgiving. These cab drivers trip me out. My girlfriend was riding by herself. Without warning, the cab driver tried to grope her chest and solicited sexual favors. He did take her to her destination, but it was a harrowing experience. Royal Cab has the entire story, but they have not responded to this complaint at all. read more

I realize why people are using Uber and Lift after calling Royal Cab company. When I called the first time, I was told someone would be there in 10-15 minutes. When I called the second time, they didn't have any of my information and said it would be 10-15 minutes. When I called the third time, someone else said the same thing. The scheduled cab for my doctor's appointment arrived on time but his credit card machine was broken even though I specified that I would be using a card in the reservation. I called at 12:15 for the return trip, and waited 45 minutes before calling again. Then I was told it would be 20 minutes. I waited 40 and called again. Then I was told they didn't have me in the system. At that point I called Universal Cab, who arrived in 15 minutes. Never again. read more

This is the worst taxi business ever!!! I called them at 2:38 PM to pick me and my 8 and a half months pregnant fiancee up from the mall and a woman answered the phone. I told her the address and she said she'll send the cab on the way to us. It became 3:14 PM and no one came. I called them again and the same woman answered and told her that our cab hasn't showed up yet and she said to me to give him 10 more mins and he'll be there. I called again at 3:26 PM and this time a man answered and I told him that we ordered a taxi to the mall and no one showed up. he told me that the woman just push our request for a taxi just 10 mins ago. I was furious and complained to him because we have been waiting for an hour!!! he said that he 'apologizes' and he 'will see the closest cab to our location and send him to us'. It's 4:04 PM now and no taxi in sight. This time my fiancee calls them and the man picks up and she asked him kindly where is the closest taxi and asked about how long will he take to get to our location after that she told him that we have been waiting for 2 hours. He tells her 2 hours and hangs up on her face!!! she calls the company again and the same guy who hung up on her answered and my fiancee tells him that it is his job to send a cab and have that cab send us a text of when and where its on its way to us and he tells her "i'm sorry ma'am your taxi is going to arrive in a couple more hours" and hangs up on her face again. lousy and so lazy, how the hell is this place still running???!!! don't use them because your lifespan will decrease from the stress of dealing with them assholes. one star doesn't even cut it it should be no stars! read more

Absolutely the worst service I have ever received in my entire life. The whole experience made me feel dehumanized. I work at the front desk of an uptown Charlotte hotel, meaning I call Royal Cab on a daily basis for guests. My car was in the shop so i employed them for a trip 1.5 miles from the hotel to my house. Approximately half way there my driver t-boned another driver, leaving me with shoulder, neck and rib injuries. After 30 minutes of sitting on the side of the road another royal cab finally showed up to take me the final 3/4 of a mile home. I was required to pay the fee because Royal Cab franchises their drivers. The dispatcher i spoke with put me on hold for over 10 minutes every time i called( 3 separate times) and eventually assured me they were more upset about the accident then I was. I asked for a free fare from the wreck to my house which was rejected with enthusiasm. I will never in my life call another Royal cab for one of my guests, and I have already contacted my attorney about pursuing legal action. If i was treated with the normal respect a human being should be afforded for hiring 1 of many Charlotte companies, then i would have no interest in pursuing legal action. The dispatcher acted as if it was a privilege to use Royal Cab. The only thing I had the privilege of receiving was personal injury and extreme rudeness. read more

2/4/17, I called Royal Cab at (704) 222-2222 at 12:15pm for a taxi, was told it will take 20 min. At 12:40 pm called back and told her that the taxi was not there, she put me on hold and then said 20 more min. I waited patiently until 1:15pm, called back and asked her what's taking this long, she said, she is dispatching another taxi, because the first one was having issues to getting to me, she said it's going to be another 20 min. At 1:40 pm I called back, she was very rude after I told her to please tell me if the taxi is coming or I should call another company. She said she is having trouble locating a taxi for me and that she is short of drivers today. I told her that she should have told me earlier, I had tickets to the circus and would have called another service. Now, I am late and we will miss the show. She was very rude on the phone and when I said to be reasonable and not rude, and will she send another cab, she said "No, we cannot send a taxi", I told her that she wasted 2 hours of my time and we also will miss part of the show and that I will report the incident to the BBB, and she said she doesn't care and hung up on me. Very rude interaction and uncalled for. I was not only late but also upset. I was late to the show due to them and had $350 worth of tickets that almost went to a waste. My kids were crying because by the time we got there, we not only missed the pre show meet and greet but also first 15 minutes of the show. And this was the last show that Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey performed. Have NEVER had such a horrific experience with any taxi service in my entire life. HORRIBLE SERVICE, HORRIBLE PEOPLE, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON. Please DO NOT EVER call this service or rely on them in time of need. read more
