Canon 5D Mark II... I normally would not go out of my way to post a review but with the negative reviews on the Internet I felt I needed to balance it a bit. I had an accident with my camera and was in need of the camera within the month for a wedding shoot. I searched the web and found Royal Camera and because of their quick turnaround estimation I went with this company. Feeling like I was sending my child to camp without a cell phone, I reluctantly sent it off via Ups with a tracking number which I checked DAILY. Received a call from Royal confirming what I had perceived the problem to be and they were within a day of completing the repairs. Got my call today to get the credit card over the phone (which were cheaper than their original estimate) and my camera will be shipped out tomorrow. I was given advice about how to avoid this from happening in the future and at this point I am 100% completely satisfied and look forward to receiving my camera in 3 business days. If I receive my camera and find anything other than what I am professing now....I will update this review. Can not see that happening. I recommend this company. read more

I have a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II, which is my favorite camera body out of three professional Canon bodies I own. It's 3 generations from the current 1Dx Mark II and no longer supported by Canon. I use it daily and the shutter gave out in June 2018. Our local camera repair said there were no shutters available, and the cost the gave me to replace the shutter if one was available was very expensive. I was looking and having to sell the camera for parts on eBay. But then I found Royal Camera Service, Inc. (RCS), and inquired about if they could replace the shutter and about what it would cost. They said they could replace the shutter and the estimated cost they gave me was 1/2 the local estimate. I sent the camera to RCS, and they replaced the shutter for the cost they had estimated, since everything else on the camera is in good condition. The camera came back working better than it had for a long time, and I've been using it daily with no problems whatsoever. My CANON EOS Digital Camera that my youngest daughter saved her money to purchase as a Father's Day gift for me nearly 12 years ago had all sorts of problems and error codes. Thought I might have to purchase a new camera. Took a chance on Royal Camera Service. They fixed all problems and reset error codes and sent it back to me a week ago in time for another Father's Day. LOVE these guys & gals. Most likely saved me a few hundred dollars buying a new camera. Saying "Thank you" is simply not meaningful enough. The aperture in my Minolta AF 85/ 1.4 (D) G lens LS2400 was sticking open. My local camera shop was unable to repair the lens and had sent it to another shop and they too said it could not be repaired. This is a great prime lens and I thought I would give it one more try. I call the folks at Royal and they agree to take a look at the lens. I sent the lens to them and two days later I got a call and they said it could be repaired. They explained Minolta part are some times hard to get and the repair may take a few weeks. Two and a half weeks later I got my lens back. The lens aperture work perfectly and the pictures are crisp and sharp like when the lens was new. read more

Had my Nikon D 5200 repaired in October 2018 and now the camera is back with no Auto Focus again. That tells me their work isn't worth the time and money and now have a camera that's no good. It was $300.00 to repair for 8 months. What Royal Camera is telling me is their service in no good and they don't back their work over 3 months. I will go on the internet to site to let others know to take their cameras else where. After reading the reviews Royal Camera not the place to go and the one's the got rip off should post it on the sites one Social Network sites so maybe others don't get rip off on poor work..........Steve read more

When my Cannon 20D had a shutter failure after 10 years it seemed every place I took it refused to fix it saying it was too old or that parts weren't available (funny I located the parts on Ebay). Then I came across Royal Camera on line. They said they would take a look at it and quoted me a price and kept to it. The camera came back working like new. That was 6 months ago and the camera is still performing perfectly. They really fixed it they didn't just patch it up. A SLR camera is precision instrument. Royal Camera Service recently repaired serious damage to my Fuji X-T3 camera. The camera had fallen off a camera cart during a shoot and landed on rocks. The entire rear LCD screen assembly was broken and unusable. Royal did an excellent job repairing the camera to like-new status. This is the 3rd repair I've had them do and would recommend Royal to anyone, especially professional photographers who depend on their cameras and lenses. I had two Lumix FZ1000 cameras - one 4 years old, the other 2 years old. The auto focus stopped working on older one. I tripped and fell breaking the newer one - totally inoperative, but did not break the lens. I sent both to Royal for an estimate. Within 5 days they emailed me estimates for repairing each one. Reasonable price - repair both for less than cost of one new one. Told them to go ahead. Two weeks later I received both cameras - repaired - both work perfectly. Excellent service. I sent my Sony HD projector to Royal for repair. It exhibited a fine fixed pattern noise which showed up on the whole picture but especially covering face detail. Some of my friends could not see it but it drove me crazy. I had over 10,000 hours on the projector so I know what a perfect picture is supposed to look like. Royal saw what I saw and replaced the LCD panel module. I am very satisfied with the repair. My total cost per hour over the years of viewing including lamps and the repair is about 9 cents per hour. Years ago my camera bag fell into a stream with my Canon 70-200 f2.8 lens inside. Moisture got inside the lens and when it dried left terrible water marks on the inside glass. It was fully operational after drying so I sent it off to Canon for cleaning who said the lens was not repairable. So I sent it to Royal Camera who did a complete disassembly and cleaned all optics. I had a Canon lens repair done after having impact damage to it and I have had the time to use the lens since receiving it back.
