I came by on a Sunday morning around 11:30am. Very welcoming, polite and attentive staff greeted and took care of me during my visit. There was a nice concise selection of dishes including Chicken Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala, Vegetable Korma, Samosas to name a few. There was a good balance of spicy and not so spicy which I preferred. Complimentary Garlic Bread was fantastic and straight outta the tandoor. I also ordered a Mango Lassi which was delicious. Parking was easy. Highly recommended.

Service was very good! So kind and they always refill our water glasses and remove our used plates in timely manner. We went for the buffet, which is approximately $15.50 for adults, at least since 8.31.25 when we were here. Food tasted fresh. We haven't been here in years. Nice casual setting here. Plenty of free parking

I bodied this Indian lunch buffet and the food was very good for $15.99. I like the subji, dahl and chutneys!

We had the mixed platter, butter chicken, garlic naan, chicken tikka, egg fried rice, and sag paneer. Everything was delicious and the dishes were spiced to our preferences. The mixed platter was a great way to sample all of the appetizers without committing to one. Everything from the samosa to the onion bhaji and the chicken and lamb tikka and seekh kabab was fresh and flavorful. The garlic naans were fantastic and served as the perfect accompaniment to the sag paneer and butter chicken. The chicken tikka was nicely charred on the outside while still being juicy and moist inside, and the egg fried rice had a nice buttery taste and was full of eggs and peas. Couldn't complain about a single dish we had. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, with Bollywood music playing softly in the background and a manageable noise level in the dining area. Highly recommend this restaurant for the food, the service, and the atmosphere.

I don't understand why it's so difficult to find delicious Indian food in the SFV. My quest…read moreclearly continues. A friend who has great taste in food recommended this place - he and his wife have ordered food from here before and had it delivered. My parents and I did the same tonight, and I'm sorry to say we're all extremely underwhelmed. For context, we're Indian, so we know what Indian food is supposed to taste like, and what goes in it - my friend and his wife are not, so I can't (and won't) blame them in this case. Their other food recommendations have been excellent. We ordered the matar paneer, tadka dal, chana bhuna, Peshwari Naan, and 2 garlic butter naans. The dal was OK - good consistency but just OK. The chana bhuna was again, just OK - it lacked salt and didn't have much masala so I'm not sure why they're calling it "bhuna." The matar paneer was the most disappointing of all. It was in some bizarre, watery, milk-consistency yellow sauce we've never seen before and literally lacked any kind of flavor whatsoever: no masala, no salt, and no spices. I get that it was ordered mild, but that is only supposed to apply to heat (e.g. cayenne pepper/powder), not mean make it totally bland and devoid of non-heat spices that typically go in masalas (ground onions, garam masala, garlic, ginger, tomato, coriander powder, etc.). The only positive thing I can say about the matar paneer is that they at least gave plenty of paneer pieces unlike most restaurants where finding paneer is a frustrating fishing expedition. Onto the naans: the garlic butter naans were also just OK - a bit over cooked so they were hard and dried out, so perhaps the butter had already gotten absorbed by the time it made it to our house. The Peshwari naan was soft and flaky but a bit too overstuffed. (Although I suppose that's better than it being understuffed.) The food all arrived piping hot and smelled amazing, which is why the inferior quality of the food itself was additionally disappointing. We can only conclude that whoever the chef is at this place is not Indian; or if s/he is, then they need to go back and have their mom or an Indian Auntie teach them how to cook properly. And if they're not Indian, then they need to find an Indian Auntie to learn from and only then should they be cooking Indian food for sale. Seeing all of the rave reviews, including some from Indian folks, I wonder if we just ordered on a bad night when the regular chef was perhaps out sick or something, but I can't honestly recommend this place and won't be ordering from it again or visiting it in person, either. It wasn't cheap and it just didn't taste like Indian food should be.

Pretty good Indian food but expect lots of butter/ghee in the food!!…read more My friend and I dropped by for dinner Saturday evening around 7:30 pm. To our surprise, there was just one other group there even though it should've been peak dining hours. Because of this, we didn't have high expectations for the food, but surprisingly it turned out okay. The space is nice and big with both table and booth seating. It looked like there was a private room for events off to one side as well. Since it's a chaat place, we got some chaat as well as a curry. We shared the following: Pav bhaji ($10.99) Paneer kathi roll ($10.99) Chicken tikka masala ($17.99) Plain roti and naan ($2.99 + $3.49) Out of everything, the pav bhaji was our favorite. The bhaji was drier than usual (usually it's a bit more liquid), but the flavor was good. There was also a strong taste of butter/ghee, more than what I'm used to, so it's definitely a very rich dish here, especially with the extra chunk of butter they serve on top. Too bad they only serve two pav by default, as at least 3, maybe 4, would've been good to go with the amount of bhaji provided. I only took a bite of the kathi roll, but it was a bit too sweet for me personally. However, my friend liked it and said that the paneer tasted very fresh and soft. The chicken tikka masala was pretty standard. Nothing to write home about. We were pleasantly surprised by the flavors here. It's not super close to where we live but we might come back to try some of the other chaat!

I told them to order plenty of food, since we'd worked up an appetite on the boat, and we would take home the leftovers. They ordered a lot - appetizers, curries and dosas - and there were barely any leftovers. It was late and the restaurant was pretty empty, so we got lots of service attention. Everything was delicious. Because we enjoyed our first time here so much, my husband and I came back about a month later on a weekday for an early lunch right as they were supposed to open. There didn't seem to be anyone actually working the seating area; a person came out eventually and told us that someone would take our order soon. It was quite a while before anyone came, the food took a long time to be served, and the food wasn't as good as I remembered. Very disappointing, which is why I'm giving 4 stars, not 5. Yesterday, driving back from Ojai on the 101 at lunchtime, we decided to give the restaurant another try. The service was very prompt and friendly and the food was very good. We ordered a vegetarian thali and an onion rava masala dosa to share between the two of us. The thali gave us a chance to have a sample of lots of their dishes. The dosa was awesomely crunchy, with large portions of sambar and several chutneys. We were stuffed before we finished our meal. Our total bill was only $30, plus tax and tip. We will definitely come back again, hopefully with a group of friends so we can order a lot of dishes and share. I have to assume that our one disappointing lunch was just a bad day - maybe their staff was out sick or something. But two of our three meals here were great and I look forward to eating that dosa again! We would come here more often, but we live half an hour away.

There are numerous chains of South Asian grocery stores (that carry food from many countries in…read morethat area of the globe). Some of them have hot cases, with fresh vegetarian food to go, or with a few tables, to dine in. Other stores are only for groceries. If you look around at numbers, this ethnic cohort, has the most locations in the SFV, Los Angeles, Simi and Thousand Oaks vicinities. Because of this, India Sweets and Spices, on Sherman Way and Topanga, is worth a trip.....to pick up ingredients, if and when I am in the mood to do some in house cooking :) This location also has a fresh vegetarian hot case every day, with several enticing, nutritious and tasty vegetarian selections of North Indian and South Indian food. There are also tables to dine in. On the grocery side, you can get some of these spices at supermarket chains like Ralph's, Vons, Whole Foods and the like. But none of these statewide chains will be able to come close or compete with these South Indian grocery establishments that are often, mom and pop joints. Supermarkets give you small quantities of spices for exorbitant prices. On the other hand, these smaller grocery stores have a very high degree of freshness, intoxicating fragrance, at a comparatively steal of a price in their products. And the smallest bag bought here, can last you for a long time. These are the places to go for superb intoxicating selections of turmeric, dried red chilies, fenugreek, fresh curry leaves, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, coriander powder, paprika, cardamom, fennel, and the like. If you are fond of okra, the best quality and freshness is in these stores. They also have the smaller red onions. And try some of the vast array of packaged and unique snacks (one of my favorites is the salted fried green peas), when you're tired of eating all the brands of potato chips :)
