I feel sorry if someone had a bad experience with Dr. Ruskin and/or his staff, but it is what it is. I am what you may call a worrier, especially when it comes to anything that has to do with sedatives, anesthesia, and cutting body parts open. That being said, I searched high and low for a surgeon when my wisdom teeth were finally putting me in enough pain for me to acknowledge them. After for searching for a month (yes, I'm crazy), I did come across Dr. William Ruskin on a website called usatopdentists.com. Since he is in my area, I googled his name to see if I could confirm that he is worthy of such a title. I came across these reviews and was honestly put off. I met a couple surgeons who not only didn't care for my business, but really didn't seem capable of extracting my teeth. I had two impacted teeth, which needed to be taken out by an oral surgeon, especially because of their close proximity to my nerves. After asking around, it seemed ironic that 2 people who have no relation to each other referred me to Dr. William Ruskin. I decided I had nothing to lose by giving him a shot. Guys, I am young and look even younger than I actually am, so I don't get the best service wherever I go, because you know, people don't take me as serious. Little do they know how vital good customer service is to me. Having said that, I can't express to you how amazing everyone at this office was--especially the receptionist, Renee. She was AWESOME. Not only were they all so courtious, kind and helpful, but they were pretty quick and seemed to know what they were doing. Dr. Ruskin was so absolutely kind, patient and caring that I immediately felt comfortable with him putting me to sleep and taking all 4 of my wisdom teeth out, even with the possible risk of nerve damage. He warned me of it, which I respect. My surgery went perfectly, and I had no complications with healing. I did have dry socket on one side, but that is my own fault for dislodging the clot and was manageable with advil. I went in for my followup the next week, and he said everything looked good. After that, I was on my merry way out. I seriously could not have asked for a better experience. If you're looking for a surgeon who knows what he's doing and is skilled and kind, at least consult with him. You will not regret it.

From this point on no matter what your issue is they will try to steer you towards a root canal. All I had was a tooth that got food trapped in it all the time. He improperly shaved my tooth down to prepare me for a crown. The temporary did not fit, had holes and cracks and exposed tooth causing me 2 weeks of throbbing pain. He said I needed a root canal. I ran out of there to eastbrooke dental in Novi, MI and they confirmed that Dr gagoh lied, I didn't need a root canal in fact a filing probably would have corrected the problem and that Dr gagoh put on a thin misshapen temporary. Dr gagoh didn't sound professional or knowledgeable. My instincts told me to get a second opinion and I'm glad I did. AVOID LATHRUP FAMILY DENTISTRY AT ALL COSTS YOU WILL PAY FOR IT.

I sometimes forget about my regular cleanings, they have a postcard system where you fill it out and they mail it to you as a reminder to schedule your cleaning appointment. I had all of my wisdom teeth removed here as well. I chose to be numbed only but they can put you under. They were understanding that I could only afford to do one wisdom tooth at first because I didn't have great insurance. Then I had three done, and was miserable... But they helped me through the pain and the dry socket. Now I'm finally to the point where I can do invisilign and I'm so excited to have straight teeth. I went to see Dr. Stanalajczo for the first time yesterday to get a filling looked at. He immediately told me the issue and started working on it. I normally feel needles for the novocain, but I didn't feel any pokes at all! During the 25 mins he worked on my tooth, I did not feel a thing but a little pressure - which is how it should be. He made sure I was comfortable and always warned me of procedures he is getting ready to do. It was such a breath of fresh air to be at a dental office where the dentist really cares about your well-being. He doesn't try to "sell" you things either, like getting random work done, but tries to find an alternative for your ailments. I highly recommend seeing him for your dental needs. I couldn't figure out why I had so much pain in one particular tooth for so long, it was from the retainers that displaced my teeth which left me irritating the nerve. Dr. Mathew Savaya was the one who took the time to explain this entire process to me, we were able to avoid a root canal and take a conservative approach easing the pain. Within minutes I felt relief. I wish they had taken my insurance, nonetheless, it was worth every penny. I'll be back! On a referral from a friend, I rushed to this office for a loose filling that needed immediate care. I was treated with the utmost kindness, my issues were addressed efficiently and thoroughly.

All of the hygienists are friendly and very efficient. The ladies at the front desk are so sweet and friendly! I actually don't mind coming to the dentist because everyone is just so nice and you feel very welcome. I feel like a freak because I love going to the dentist…read more Before I began visiting Dr. Cohen, I had already sat through a ton of dental work including a few extractions, countless fillings and a couple temporary crowns with several dentists. I *really* didn't like dentists before I met Dr. Cohen because my teeth had been treated carelessly by the dentists before him. But ask me now about going to the dentist and I'll say I love it. I mean, like everyone, I still hate getting my teeth cleaned and the terrifying sound of a drill against my tooth, but overall Dr. Cohen and his team make sitting in the dentist chair the best possible experience. I'm mainly updating my review to say this is still an awesome dental office. I now live in Dearborn but drive out of my way to have my dental needs taken care of in Wyandotte. I recently had to have 2 more crowns done (sucks, I know!) and they were both great experiences. Dr. Cohen and his amazing dental assistants always make sure to explain what he's doing, make sure I can't feel anything and that I'm as comfortable as possible. They even take care to put a moisturizer on your lips to make sure your lips and corner of your mouth don't get cracked during a procedure and give you sunglasses to keep the bright light (and water!) out of your eyes. His office still offers the amazing paraffin wax treatment, along with a nice, heavy shoulder massage wrap. They also have an iPad to play with while waiting for the doctor to come in, how cool is that? In addition, I noticed they made a few upgrades to the way they examine your teeth in regard to total body health. Again, if you're looking for an awesome, tech-savvy, considerate dentist with assistants and staff that truly care about you, please consider Dr. Cohen in Wyandotte. I hated dentists before I started going there but now, I can say: "Yep, I love going to the dentist."
