When I heard my family's favorite restaurant in Hawaii was closing I already knew I was going to visit one last time. We visited for a day, took the 8am (California time) flight out Thursday, left Hawaii at 2pm the next day, Friday. So we weren't really looking for anything luxurious out there it was a quick turnaround trip I got the car and one of the guys reserved our stay. I wasn't too picky about it, it was just a few hours. I knew we would hit the ground running as soon as we landed and we would be in there just for a quick nap before getting up the next day and running around again. I travel often, so I take a lot of pictures. Most of the time it's random and I have no real intention of using any of the photos. I like looking at my camera roll and reflecting on what I was thinking when taking certain pictures. I say all that to say, the pictures and videos I took here at the Royal Grove, came in handy. Everything we needed from a hotel, we got. A bed, hot shower, freezer (for the ice packs we stuff our cooler with to take poke home lol). We do our thing checking the beds for bed bugs etc. next morning, we see, we got extra ...friends. As you can see from the photo , I woke up the next day and seen a roach crawling on the wall near the bed. I seen a few baby ones in the bathroom. I was going to really let it slide because I get it. It's an island. There's bugs & insects everywhere. We're downtown in Waikiki at a motel that is obviously not well kept which is why it's the price that it is. We're getting what we paid for. So I really wasn't going to leave this review. This spot was obviously chosen based on price. What compelled me to leave the review is that after multiple failed attempts to get my Apple Watch back, which I was going to reimburse and PAY them for the trouble to have it returned to me, I have been ignored. I spoke with more than one person who worked the front desk. I left more than one email. I have tried every avenue. My Apple Watch obviously has a tracker so I seen it was moved from the location of the motel to a residential area so it is obviously an employee. Merry Christmas to the employee who took it, and Merry Christmas to me too, I wanted a reason to get the new series and I guess I got it. All in all, I don't ever stay in Waikīkī . I hate how busy it is there&the lack of parking space & this experience has deepened that dislike even more. To the reader deciding if you should stay here, do what you will with this information. I'm just venting.

Absolutely disgusting hotel. The appliances were rusty, the kitchen sink wasn't even attached, the walls were covered in dust and spills, paint was peeling everywhere, there were cockroaches, stains on the curtains and sheets, water wasn't draining properly, doors didn't close/lock properly and many other things. The only good thing this hotel has is their location. 0/10 stay.

Good budget hotel. The location is one block from the beach. Plenty of food trucks and stores all very close by. We had a king bed suite with a kitchen that was very useful. My only complaint was the mattress was just terrible. The next morning I requested a new mattress and by mid day it was exchanged. The property is old but our room was clean. The bathroom is tiny the tub and shower is unbelievable small. The grounds were clean. The pool is small. All in all for a budget property it fit the bill.

The sheets on the bed were dirty. I went to the desk to complain and have the sheets changed. The individual working said there was no one there who could change the sheets, but she could give me sheets to change them myself. Reluctantly, I took the sheets to my room and began to change the bedding. The sheets I was given were for a queen bed, but the bed in my room is a king bed. I took the sheets back down, indicating such. I was given another set of sheets and brought those to the room only to find out they also were for a queen bed. I made another trip down to the desk with those sheets to try to get sheets for a king bed. She was able to find a fitted sheet for a king, but it had stains on it. She then went to look somewhere else for another set of sheets. We ended up with a king fitted sheet two queen top sheets, and a queen blanket. So the bedding was never right. I have never had to make up my own bed at a hotel. I feel this situation was totally unacceptable.

Run down Hawaiian surfer hotel close to beach and restaurants. There is no close parking. Lots of rust, dry rot, noise, only clean and service room every 5 days if you request. Staff nice and helpful. Bed comfortable, fridge and air cond worked good. Provide beach towels and chairs if available.

Stains and brownish stuff coming down walls on side of bed.

A LOT needs to be improved at this place. Super disappointed at how BAD the cleanliness of this place is! I figured the rooms would look at LEAST like what they have posted in the pictures but they are completely misleading and catfished us pretty badly. Can't complain about the price but this place is just HORRIBLE on the cleanliness part. The front desk was nice and kind, gave us what we needed etc. Housekeeping barely cleaned anything when asked for housekeeping. The glass tables were dirty and not wiped, black pieces of hair on clean sheets, very dirty, disgusting walls, stains, dirty floors, and light switches are not wiped clean. (I had to use a bunch of wipes and clean my two rooms myself! They were THAT bad...) As a former housekeeper, this is just super bad... Only thing I can't complain about is that there was NO signs of bed bugs here which I'm pleased to say! I was worried I'd get them due to how dirty the rooms were but luckily no bugs! I would recommend spending a little bit more money on somewhere else entirely. Stay away from this place unless you're okay with cleaning the rooms yourself.

We got the suite for the bedroom and I was an area kitchen

I've stayed here three times in the last two years and each visit I've gotten a great nights sleep. The rooms have always been clean. It's not a new hotel but it's a great location. They have round the clock staff. They have dairy cleaning if you want it there's a small pool and it's a fair price. If you're looking for something fancier, this is not the place in fact when you get into your room don't immediately judge it. It's a great place. If you're open to what is it what it is you'll find it's a gem.

Decent space

The hotel was older (not a big deal at all) but there were zero upgrades done to the property. The doors use regular keys and there is not a deadbolt. There is a sign in the room stating that you should keep valuables in the safe... I guess they are not secure in your room. These are items I can look past. Four days into my six day stay, I get a knock on the door while taking a nap. It's room service and she states "room service" and I politely decline and go back to napping. Five minutes later, another knock and someone is demanding I open the door. I thought it was room service so I said "no thanks" and she said "open the door now" so I quickly put on shorts and open it. She said "why are you here, this room should have been vacant as of yesterday" and my response was, "I hope not I have 3 more days" and she demands my name and says she will look into it. I checked all my online booking information and went downstairs to confirm what I have. She greets me very rudely and states that she will have to wait to talk to her Mananger but I was checked out as of the prior day. Look, I understand there are mishaps and errors but the rude tone was not called for. She also never got back to me on if everything was corrected... nor did I get an apology for the confusion. I had to reach out to the chat option on Expedia and even they were not sure what the outcome would be. So I continued to stay there hoping when I got back to my room that night, all my belongings would still be in the room. The room was ok, it did smell like stagnant water but besides that, the lack of upgrades and the rude staff (just that lady, everyone else was incredible), the Royal Grove is at a great location in Waikiki.

DO NOT BOOK HERE UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR MONEY STOLEN. My friend and I originally booked here, and were very excited about our stay. When we arrived to the hotel o n May 1st, they told us that "the hotel lost half its power" and they had to move us to their "sister property" a few blocks away called Ohia Waikiki Studio Suites. Long story short, the first room at Ohia was dirty with urine on the toilet seats, stained sheets, and a moldy shower. The second room had a broken toilet and no hot water in the shower. After a nightmare stay, I contacted Hotels.com, who issued me a half refund on May 9th of $358, considering the cost of Ohia was also less than Royal Grove. Later, after returning to the states (and experiencing theft at Ohia, watch out) on May 15th Royal Grove decided to charge my card another $288 WITHOUT NOTICE OR RECEIPT of any kind. I filed this as a fraudulent charge with my bank and proceeded to contact Hotels.com. After being woken at 6am this morning, Hotels.com only is willing to refund $208 USD and is giving me the rest in gift cards--despite the fact that the new fraudulent charge was in USD, and I've not defaulted on bills because there was no notice of the charge or receipt. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. Every step of dealing with this hotel has been a NIGHTMARE, and I highly recommend you stay elsewhere, lest you have issues, because you will not get your money back. You will instead be charged more money and refunded less. This is the worst customer service I've ever received from both Royal Grove, and Hotels.com. You should be ashamed.

Unfortunately, I am unable to edit my original review. I see a bunch of typos in my haste to post with the intention to proofread later. Here is an update and I will edit my original below it just because the typos bother me and I wanted to improve it. Ha ha. I just can't get over reading other reviews of people who were harassed because they monitor if you have guest come to your room. Thank God my friend, who lives locally, could not take off work to come visit me when I stayed here. If any of the hotel staff confronted me about having a guest come to my room it would have ruined my entire trip, not that the poor conditions of the room made it any more pleasant. I have never been to a hotel where they questioned invited guests. This hotel should remove their no guest policy. They should be thankful they even have people tpaying them any type of money to stay in these poor conditions. This hotel is great for the location and I would have considered it mainly for that fact, but their strict no guest policy bothers me. CORRECTED ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'd give this place 5 stars for the location and most employees I encountered. It was so nice to be at the beach in a matter of minutes. There were several popular cheap eats next door (poke, bbq, and musubi across the street, and restaurants with live music along two blocks to the beach. The other reviews that describe the furnishings and room condition are fairly accurate. I was going to choose 2 stars but I read it stood for "could have been better". To be honest, the only thing that could have made this better is if the whole building be condemned and an entirely new building rebuilt. The doorknobs/hardware was loose and flimsy. I did not feel safe at all. There was one wall with smaller curtainless windows up high in a corner. All the lights from the surrounding buildings and street made it seem light a bright beacon that magnified into the room at night which made REM sleep unattainable. At 5am the amplified noises from street sweepers and refuse trucks with the beeping reverse alarm and squeaky trash compactors provided as an urban alarm, which actually helped me get an early start to plan out my day and be out for sunrise and beating the morning crowds. This was the only positive. Throughout my time there I only had the mirror that sat inconveniently high above the bathroom sink. I could only check the decency of my outfit discreetly in public by the mirror covered walls by the lobby. I'm not the type to stay in 5 star hotels, since I only intend to sleep, but it is not possible to have a relaxing night and wake up refreshed at this hotel. As much as I loved, loved, loved the location and the maintenance people and housekeepers, I probably wouldn't go again. There might be better comparably priced hotels in the area.

Porch View from 4th floor

Stayed here for one night and left early for airport. This hotel has a great central location and they let us leave our bags with them for several hours before we could check-in. They did tell us absolutely no checking in early. The room itself was very dingy and run down. It was quite small and the furniture was mismatched and looked very worn. It also appeared to not be super clean though the sheets had some hairs on them, we just brushed them off and went to bed. The light fixture had bugs moving around in it and the sounds of the street below were extremely loud. Also be aware there is no parking on site but they have a list of other locations. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and enjoyable. We could see a sliver of the ocean from our balcony. Can't complain for the price and if you're just looking for a place to sleep at night this would be it.

Water damage

The pictures for this property have been done up to look nice. But if you believe the pictures you will be disappointed. The room was not clean when we arrived. There was old candy in the cabinets and the floor has not been vacuumed. The sheets and towels are dingy and you can see multiple places where there has been water damage. While we were there, our shower started to leak in the room below. We were given a extra room to shower in that was at the opposite end of the hotel. We lived like this for a week (which was a hardship with 4 small children) and we were never given updates to when or if it had been fixed. I think that the staff got confused about our extra room to shower in, because one day my razor and all my product went missing. I assume it was all thrown away but housekeeping by accident. Now I'm going to have to spend the money to replace it all and as of right now the motel has not offered to replace it. However, it is a 2 minute walk from the beach, and there are multiple places to get yummy food next to the hotel. There is also a laundry room, which is very nice for long stays. And except for throwing away my things and having to go on a hike to get a shower, the staff was very nice. The pool was closed while we where there, but it is very small. It was weird because the stairs to the room share a space with one of the restaurants kitchen, and I have no idea how they pass to be open, because the kitchen is very dirty.

Embassy suites Waikiki 2123…read more Bed - nice and comfy. Little movement from partner. Mattress was a Serta Perfect Sleeper Plush mattress. Hotel offers different types of pillows in the room and spare blanket in armoire. Also in the armoire is hangers, an ironing board and steaming iron, which came in handy for those wrinkled linen shirts mashed in my suitcase. The Bathroom. - one sink with a little counter top space but sufficient. The toilet was also bidet in the master bath. The shower pressure on 21st is ok but low, but it did the job. The Ac in room was awesome! It gets super cold, if you need it, quickly. It was nice for those hot humid days of walking in Waikiki. It had an In-room mini fridge and bar sink with 4 real drinking glasses, which I like. Hated there was no freezer in the mini fridge But the bell hop station offers to freeze ice packs, or whatever you need, for you. We had 3 sliding doors with west views and moderate views of Waikiki beach. The Second bedroom has own bath with also a single sink, toilet and shower- No bidet. The room/bedding/bathrooms were clean with no mold in the showers. The furniture showed a little wear but nothing excessive. The Elevators were fast! The pool, mangers reception and breakfast are all on the 4th Floor (terrace level). Breakfast was typical of Embassy Suites, I like the made to order omelette which makes it much better. Lots of fresh fruit and even some miso soup and other Japanese/Hawaiian offerings. The Staff was awesome and super friendly. I Used valet every day. Great service, fast and practical IMO but hard to swallow the daily fee. The hotel was attacked to the Waikiki beach walk. Island vintage coffee was a regular stop for coffee and sometimes breakfast. Order coffee or food to go online after 8am to save a ton of time standing in line. Hotel was Very close to all ththe shops. Awesome location. Much better location than Hilton Hawaiian village location!!! Our fav restaurant close by the hotel was Kana Pilla and Monkey Pod, which were across the street. Make sure to make Open Table reservations for both way ahead of time. I did mine 2 months out. Housekeeping willing to clean and supply new towels daily however linens are not cleaned but every 5 day, unless you request it, which they are happy to do! Views from 21st floor were awesome and all 21st floor rooms had extensive balconies. 3 sliding doors. Keep in mind Ac doesn't work, yes the fan blows, when the doors are open!! It's too humid at night to sleep with them open so we had them open for select times, mostly am. There's a Washer/dryer laundry room on site, 3rd floor only. It was Very convenient especially packing 4 days of clothes for a 10 day trip so our suitcases weren't stuffed . Use laundry room on sundays/mon or late evenings when people are too busy arriving and leaving. $5.25 to each wash load and I think $4.75 to dry. Washers only wash with cold which I like. Perm press on dryer seemed to dry all our shirts and socks well. We hung our nice Aloha shirts on the hangers in the room and they dried within a day. Washer and dryers take credit cards. Yes they're is a soap machine that also takes credit cards. I didn't use and just bought soap from ABC. ABC stores are EVERYWHERE so don't lug around suntan lotion or waters in your suitcase. Just buY at ABC which is only 20 steps away. FYI ABC doesn't no GIVE out bags for items unless you spend over a certain amount. ANC bags cost like .50 cents. ABC has Awesome poke and alcohol (spirit and beer) choices. Yes single purchase tall beers too. Don't forget the free brief fireworks show in front of the Hilton Hawaii Village on Friday nights only. We saw them set off at 7:45p by the lagoon. It's amazing how many people attend so be prepared for the crowds to and from. Big tip: make open table reservations for all your restaurants months ahead! All places are super busy until about 8:45 pm on most nights. Hope I helped.

Halepuna Hotel This…read moreis a review of my experience staying at the Halepuna Hotel, located in Waikiki. I booked my stay via Costco Travel recommendations. WORDS TO DESCRIBE Halepuna Hotel: Modern, clean, safe, economically and environmentally friendly (bamboo room cards, water dispensers for your reusable water bottles), bright, airy, quality service in hospitality and room service LOCATION I loved staying at the Halepuna Hotel. It was centrally located at the beach walk, so ABC Store, shops, restaurants, and the beach were all within walking distance. *It was difficult finding the location of the hotel, when we first arrived. There was no big sign that you can spot, while you're driving, so my landmarks I always looked for were the ABC Store and Denny's. STAFF/SERVICE: Everyone that we came across during our stay was very friendly, generous, kind, and attentive. A shoutout to the Valet Service crew, especially RJ. He gave us recommendations for where to go. He always made us smile and laugh with his jokes. Thank you Uncle! AMENITIES: ROOMS Our room was equipped with charge stations-usb and usb c compatible plugs, ironing board/iron, mini fridge, ice bucket, tea kettle, and coffee maker. BATHROOM Well stocked with towels, a drying cord, blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I appreciated that instead of your standard toilet, the hotel had bidets! *Great water pressure for showering. The tub was also spacious, if you wanted to take a bubble bath. 8TH FLOOR GYM-Equipped with a lot of machines Water dispenser Additional restrooms/shower room LAUNDRY ROOM is open 24/7 There are 3 washers and 4 dryers You can pay using your credit card or download the WASH CONNECT app *Friendly suggestions: -As a guest, bring your own laundry soap/dryer sheets--or go to the ABC Store if you forget your laundry supplies -Make sure to clean the lint trap before you put your clothes in -Put a timer on your phone to check on your clothes GARDEN -Serene, tranquil, peaceful, spacious -------- Friendly Suggestions for Halepuna Hotel -Have a big sign stationed outside the hotel, perhaps elevate the height of the sign and add lights to it, so it's easy to spot for first time visitors ------- All in all I enjoyed staying at the Halepuna Hotel. The services and amenities provided were excellent. I can't wait to visit again soon! Mahalo Halepuna Hotel!

Still our favorite hotel for our family staycation! We've been coming to Hilton Hawaiian Village…read morefor years and have stayed in just about every tower except one, and we've enjoyed each experience. We're not high-maintenance travelers--we simply appreciate the opportunity to spend quality time together, and every stay here creates lasting memories. One of our favorite conveniences is the ABC Stores on the property. They're reasonably priced and have surprisingly good sushi and poke bowls for a quick meal. This summer visit was noticeably busier than our fall stays. The pools were definitely crowded, and the village was packed with tourists. While people say tourism is down, that certainly wasn't our experience--it felt very lively throughout our stay. Instead of driving, we used Lyft to visit the Waikīkī International Market Place, which ended up being much cheaper than paying for parking and was well worth it. During this trip, we stayed in the Kalia Tower and loved our room's view overlooking the ocean, lagoon, harbor, and even the marketplace below. My husband also enjoyed using the fitness center. He mentioned it was busiest in the mornings and mid-afternoons, so evenings seemed like the best time to work out. One of the highlights of our stay was our daily feathered visitor--a pigeon that stopped by to greet us every day, which became a fun little tradition. Overall, we had another wonderful stay and made more great family memories. We're already looking forward to coming back again next year!

With all respect to the Hilton family, The Hilton name should be removed from this iconic property…read more It's an embarrassment to say the least. The Hilton accomodation standards are shamefully missing from this iconic resort. After reading several reviews and confirming that the iconic Rainbow Tower just completed its multi million dollar renovation, I secured a Rainbow Kai High-Floor Oceanfront room. Room 2719. The room view was spectacular however the room itself was not Hilton comfortable. Decor was nice but not what we anticipated it would be. After our first night it became obvious that the multi million dollar tower renovation was cosmetic only. A/C system was noisy and not adequate enough for sleeping comfortably. Mini fridge leaked water on floor. Hot water in Shower/Tub/Sink took between 4 - 6 1/2 minutes to get warm/hot. NO EXAGGERATION Closet had a musty odor and wooden hangers that were absolutely disgusting and should have been discarded years ago. The super (main) pool was littered with leaves and debris with zero upkeep maintenance. The tower elevators were another issue. The elevator lobby facade was updated but that was it. The wait for an elevator was absolutley ridiculous. The tower has 6 cars with smart technology. Once inside you couldn't help notice how old they were. Loose wires, dirty mirrors as well as creeks, bangs, scrapes. Definitely an unnerving experience. The Hotel wait staff were very friendly and hospitable although no one stood out for name recognition. The MOD (Manager on Duty) did provide a $200 and $100 resort credit for the hot water issues. She did indicate that the recently completed renovation was a cosmetic upgrade only and that interior building components (Water pipes, elevator mechanical upgrades etc.) were not included. The Rainbow Tower was originally completed and opened in 1968 The property itself is expansive. The beach, lagoon, pools, shops and restaurants are all located on property within a 5-10 minute walk. Conveinant ride share area as well as Charley's Taxi service for an immediate ride with 24 hour availability at the bell stand. While Park Hotels and Resorts fully funded the capital improvements as the property owner, the daily resort operation and management remain under the Hilton brand. Such a shame.

A new favorite hotel in Waikiki. The view is gorgeous, the amenities are top notch, and everything…read moreabout our experience made us feel as though we were expected to return some day, which we will. One of the important standards I look for in a hotel stay, is a focus on supporting locals. For me, if there's a Starbucks in the lobby, then I'm already disappointed. This hotel has one of my favorite local chain cafes, Honolulu Coffee Company. The only local café that has consistently made perfect crema foe decades. Starbucks baristas are not trained for this. The hotel also has restaurants with lots of local flavor. The sushi buffet is amazing but difficult to get a reservation on the weekends. 100 Sails also has a buffet though ordering ala cart seemed like the best choice for us. Best place to view the Friday fireworks. Our only disappointment was how much street noise we could hear throughout the night, even though we were on the 28th floor.

We booked the Club Premier package, and we felt it was worth it because breakfast at 100 Sails Restaurant on the 3rd floor was excellent every morning. One thing to keep in mind is that parking is not included with your stay and must be paid for separately, which is something to factor into the overall cost. One big concern was the snacks on the 5th floor. We came across moldy bread, which was definitely concerning. I would think the staff would check the food before putting it out, especially considering this is not a cheap hotel. I loved that we could grab coffee every morning from Honolulu Coffee without having to leave the hotel. The lines can get long, but the service is fairly quick. The staff, overall, were not very welcoming and often seemed serious. However, on Monday, June 29, there was an older woman who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. She really stood out and made us feel appreciated. One other issue was that the body wash in our room was never refilled, so we ended up not having any during our stay. We also requested a later check out and our key cards aren't working. The front desk never mentioned anything about need to change keys cards if we had a later check out and now we're outside our rooms having to go back downstairs and change our key cards. And they were making it complicated because they wanted my drivers license even though it's in the room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the beautiful views, great amenities, and delicious breakfast made it a memorable family vacation.

I stayed at this outrigger property 2 nights from March 6, 2026-March 8, 2026…read more When I checked in I was informed since my stay was for 2 nights if I needed to have my room cleaned to let housekeeping know. Once my room became available I dropped off my luggage and then went directly to the beach. When I returned I did notice some areas of concern where the room was not very well cleaned. Instead of calling housekeeping I went directly downstairs to the front desk. Front desk personnel were busy as there were only 2 people assisting the long line of quests. I decided I'll just deal with the room uncleanliness later. Please be advised that I did take pictures. Once I checked out on Sunday, March 8th, I advised the front desk personnel my concerns. The manager Ira listened to my concerns as I showed her my pictures. She immediately apologized and ask that I email the pictures to their corporate office. Which I did once I arrived back to the mainland. In the room there's a finger or toenail clipping on the carpet between the console and couch. Also you can also see that portion of the carpet has not been vacuumed. The clothed bench in front of bed was extremely stained and filthy. So filthy that I covered the bench with a bath towel if I needed to sit down. Also the refrigerator was very dirty. I chose not to put any food items in the fridge because of this. Also the bottom of the toilet is stained with either fecal matter, urine or maybe it's rust. If so, clean it then use caulking. These are the concerns I have with room 403. Hopefully I'll be hearing from upper management in regards to my unpleasant stay in room 403. The best part of staying at this hotel was the show Auana which is located at this hotel. Needless to say I will not stay at this hotel again.

The front desk staff were very kind and helpful especially during the situation where our room was facing the construction across the street which ended up being a little loud for us so we had requested a new room away from that side and they had a room ready for us in 10 minutes with someone who came to move our luggage. Rooms were nice and clean and spacious we stayed in the diamond tower facing part of the parking garage with a view of part of the beach! It was still great to sit out on the balcony and watch the hustle and bustle of Waikīkī along with the sounds & views of the ocean! The location was across the street from the beach. They also have free beach towel dispenser which really came in handy but make sure you return it before midnight to avoid a charge! Lol. The parking garage was a little questionable as it is very tight and hard to find parking especially late at night so valet might be your best option or alerting the staff that there is no spot for self park they'll usually work something out to make sure you get one. The breakfast/brunch buffet was to die for! It is up there in price but my goodness it was phenomenal. I mean you're on vacation why not splurge a little?

The valet staff was friendly and efficient and everyone we interacted with was welcoming. Unfortunately, the room didn't match what I'd expect from a Hyatt Regency. There was a leaking bathroom faucet, a chipped sink, rust and water damage around the bathroom door, dark buildup around the shower fixture, heavily stained blackout curtains, visible dust and debris under the bed and dark spotting inside the bathroom vanity where clean towels were stored. The room also had numerous scuffs, patched walls and signs of deferred maintenance throughout. The location and staff saved the stay, but the condition of the room fell well below the standard I'd expect from this brand, especially at this price point.

I love that it is in the heart of Waikiki, very walkable to shopping and nightlife should you want to leave the grounds of the resort. The nightly local music with hula under the sky is magical. Reservations for dinner, or grab a first come first serve cocktail table at 5 to watch the sunset! There is also nightly jazz in the bar. La Mer is a one of a kind French experience and Orchids is fantastic for any meal of the day. Just outside the hotel is a delightful oceanfront park where the hotel hosted yoga each day. A highlight for me. Great poolside service. The beach is small, so if you are looking to lounge on the beach, that's not really much of an option. This hotel is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. So you know it has the highest standards. That brand has never steered me wrong. And the fact that it is not under a massive hotel chain umbrella means it can maintain its authentic individuality. Pro tip: if you have a late flight, there is a lounge where you can relax and prepare for your departure, as check out is 11am.

The restroom is in the restaurant area. I never once left the restaurant throughout the entire evening. I was simply on my way to pick up my drink from the seating area and then head to the bar to pay. He told me I was "going the wrong way" when the way I was going would have led to me to the bar... The way this team handles tabs in this bar is abysmal. Right when I sat down, I was attempting to give my bartender my credit card to start a tab. They refused to accept my card and said don't worry about it, and that they'll take it after I'm done. I explicitly told the bartender that I was going over to the lawn right next to the bar (still in the restaurant area) to get a better view of the musical performance, drink in hand. They said go ahead. Nobody should be treated like this

I slept like a baby in the king sized bed! I also liked how there was a small kitchen with cookware and a microwave. We were celebrating a minimoon and were gifted a bottle of champagne, a bar of chocolate, and a lovely fruit platter. Service was impeccable, from check-in to dining to pool service. Breakfast was included in our stay and the food was quite impressive. Not only do you get the breakfast buffet, but you get to order as many small plates as you'd like (mind you, they're already quite filling), and one large plate. You can also take your leftovers to go. Honestly, I would eat breakfast and be set until dinner most days. At the pool, they also brought around ice cream or smoothies to keep guests refreshed. They did so pretty frequently. The pool was also never super busy, which was nice as we just came from another hotel where the pool was constantly packed. You do get a small view, but it's mostly blocked by other buildings. There's a decent gym that also was never super busy. It's on the same floor as the spa. We were so impressed! The room views were amazing and our room was upgraded which was a super plus! Breakfast was amazing! Our favorites were their mochi pancakes.
