We were visiting Indiana for a week due our daughter's travel softball tournament. Obviously, with a week's worth of games, a load of laundry needed to get done to replenish uniforms and general clothing for the family. The moment we walked in we were approached (I think by the owner) and he asked, "Have you ever been here before?" We answered "No" and he rolled his greeting right in to a complete, friendly, informative, and welcoming tour of the facility, services, and payment options. Everything in this place--washers, dryers, laundry caddies, folding surfaces, floors, bathroom--was completely clean and in good repair. I needed to wash some very large comforters. I had been here years ago also for a comforter, and had a good experience. The people who work at Royal Laundromat are so nice! And very helpful. You have to put the amount you think you will spend on a laundromat card. The card is no charge. They help you figure out about how much you need and will give refunds if you put too much on it. The largest machine that easily fit my comforter was $13 and it took 23 minutes to finish. No bad! The large dryers that I used were 85 cents for each 12 min. One comforter was dry with one dry time. The other for 2 dry times. So my total cost needed was $28.55 for 2 large comforters to be cleaned and dried in less than an hour! read more

Dear Owner/Management, I am writing to formally address an ongoing issue of harassment and misconduct by an employee at your Royal Laundromat location. I have been a loyal customer for over six years and have never encountered any issues until recently. However, two incidents have now prompted me to seek resolution directly from management. Incident on February 10, 2025 (11:05 AM) On this date, I visited Royal Laundromat, as I have for years, to wash my clothes. My usual routine involves starting my laundry, running errands at the nearby grocery store, and returning to complete the process. Despite being a long-time customer, I experienced an unjustified and unprofessional act by a service manager. Upon my return, I found that all of my wet clothes had been removed from the washers and placed in a cart. When I inquired, the service manager stated that the laundromat became busy and the machines were needed for other customers. However, I have documented video evidence showing that many machines were unoccupied at the time. It was clear that my belongings were specifically targeted. When I asked for the owner's contact information or a higher-level manager, the service manager became argumentative. I also have video footage of this confrontation. Despite my attempts to reach the owner or management by phone, including calling another location, I have yet to receive a response. Since this incident, I have returned to the laundromat without any issues, confirming that this behavior was unwarranted. Incident on March 18, 2025 (12:40 PM) Today, I returned to the laundromat and began using two washers at approximately 12:40 PM. I noticed the same employee from the February 10th incident present, folding laundry with another worker. She appeared to be monitoring the washers I used. After 35 minutes, when I returned, I saw that sticky notes had been placed on my machines, documenting the exact time I had started them. Concerned, I asked another employee about the notes, and she claimed they had been left behind by another customer. Suspicious of this explanation, I stepped outside to retrieve my phone and document what was occurring. At this point, the operations manager, who had placed the sticky notes, began yelling at me, telling me to leave and shouting aggressively. When I confronted her about deliberately marking my machines, she admitted that she had done so, claiming it was because I "come in causing problems." I have documented timestamps proving that there was no prior interaction between us before I noticed the sticky notes. Security cameras can confirm this timeline. Due to the escalating harassment, I called McCordsville Police to file a report. Shockingly, instead of addressing my concerns, I was listed as trespassing, further demonstrating the laundromat's failure to handle this matter professionally and fairly. Request for Resolution I am requesting immediate action regarding this matter, including: 1. A formal review of the employee's behavior and disciplinary action for harassment and misconduct. 2. A written response from management explaining why my personal property was removed from the washers without justification and why I was subjected to targeted treatment. read more

My home washing machine broke and I needed to do laundry. I came here. I came on a Tuesday morning at 9:45am and had a good experience. First off - it is clean. I read other reviews about it being hot in here, but I am very comfortable. There are four washer sizes that I see and are priced accordingly: - $3.25 - $5.00 - $6.25 - $10.00 Dryers are $0.50 or $0.75 (based on load size) for 12 minutes. My clothes ran quite a few times in the dryer before getting dry, but they did get dry. There are ample folding tables to fold the laundry. And baskets with wheels to make it easy to move your clothes around. It has free WiFi, but only one table for working. The TV was very loud and on some "are-you-my-daddy-Jerry-Springer-wannabe" show. If I could make any changes, it'd be - more tables and less junk TV. read more

I was really impressed with how clean the laundromat was. It's been a long time since I've been to one and this has exceeded my expectations. The bathroom was really clean as well. A lot of the machines were in working order and in great condition. To use the machines you use a credit card type card and you load it with money that you can reload as needed. Sundays is pretty light and you can get in and out quickly. Never have to wait during weeknights. Triple and double washers are plentiful. The have a couple extra, extra big washers for item such as king size comforters. Royal also runs a service where they will pickup your dirty laundry and return it to you clean. read more

First time in decades we've been to a laundromat. All our negative preconceptions were WASHED away upon being greeted by Sarah as soon as we walked into Royal Laundry at 9546 Allisonville Road, Indy. Sarah kindly explained the process, answered all our questions, and checked in on us during our visit. Sarah did all this while staying super busy with Drop-off Laundry and facility upkeep. She is an excellent example of a stellar, hard-working, kind, professional employee. Royal Laundry is a nice facility with plenty of clean machines, convenient pay card system and supply vending machines (snacks, beverages, and laundry soaps). The mid-sized washers are ~23 minutes regular ~30 minutes HOT, with dryers at 12-minute intervals. Cost seemed appropriate. Washer cleaned a load of rugs and towels but didn't quite get all the pet hair off (probably too little water). Clean though. Took 2 dry cycles to get 6 towels/rugs mostly dry. Several chairs on-site for comfortable waiting although we saw lots of folks chilling in their cars in large parking lot. Thanks again, Sarah, for your above-and-beyond service. We liked the Royal Laundromat at Allisonville Rd & 96th. You have to buy a laundry card with credit credit card or cash. Then use the laundry card to use the washers/dryers We went in the morning and there were plenty of washers and dryers in good working condition. There were a lot of 6x, Triple washers which come in handy for washing comforters and heavy winter sweaters etc. The lady at the location was so helpful. The location was clean & well-lit. I went to this laundry today after researching laundromats close to my apartment. I was happy to read of the card payment system as I used this when I lived in Florida and found it so convenient. No quarters filling my pockets AND they take credit cards. The place is VERY small and HOT! The man working when I was there said he agreed with me that he hoped air conditioning would be added when the expansion that is in progress is completed. Having doors open and ceiling fans is not adequate for temps in the high 80's! And since the prices are higher for washers and dryers, I expect more than the perk of having the card payment system to make up for the added cost. AC should be a given when paying higher prices. My clothes were clean and the washers do work much faster than other places I have been to to do laundry. They should at $5 a pop! They supposedly hold up to 30 pounds, but the cylinder is very small so if you don't have heavy items, you won't get us much as you would like into a $5 machine. As someone else said, I got home and a blanket and mattress pad were still damp after I have paid $2 for 48 minutes of drying time. Again, high priced for the Indy area in my experience...so should have dried better. I will give this place another chance, but if the owner reads this PLEASE do something about the excessive heat. Many seniors like me were in your store today and that heat could cause real medical problems that could be a problem for you in the end. read more

I suppose this place makes its drop-off service a priority, because walking in here is a bit troublesome. The place is very clean and well-lit, and the staff are very helpful, if needed. However, no prices are posted anywhere, and we found ourselves re-monetizing our "wash cards" many times when it was unnecessary. The way the dryers are set up there's no obvious way to just add time when you've already got value left in your card. It seems as though the place is making a huge profit from this obfuscation. All in all we might try someplace else before returning. read more

The icing on the cake was the comforter is too big to fit in my washer. That's why I ended up in a laundromat. When I walked in- an employee immediately asked me if I needed help. I was so thankful. She was spot on as far as recommending which washer I should use. She also showed me how to get a laundry card to put money on. The place is kind of ran down, but it was decent. For a laundromat, this place is pretty nice. I've been coming here off and on for several years. A few years back, they upgraded all of their machines and went to a card system -- no more hoarding quarters! It's great. If you aren't a regular -- say, you want to wash your comforter or something -- they'll refund you any money left on your card. They have single, double and triple size washers. They are located in a strip mall, with a Subway next door and CVS across the parking lot if you get antsy. Washers take about 20-25 minutes and the dryers can be purchased in 12 minute increments -- it usually takes 2 cycles to dry everything, although it helps to spread things out. (I can't remember how much a dryer cycle costs.) You can find cheaper places, but Royal Laundry is clean, the staff are friendly and it's in a good location. You can also drop off your laundry and have them do it, but I've never taken advantage of that service. read more

I frequent this laundromat weekly and am pleased with the cleanliness and efficiency of the washers and dryers. I would give this laundromat 5 stars if it weren't for the staff's unprofessionalism. While waiting for my clothes to dry, I overheard several staff members complain about answering phone calls during the holiday season. I work in the service industry as well and answer phones every day I'm at work and have no issue with it, even during the holiday season. Face it, people WILL call for your store hours during the holidays. Some stores even place flyers if they alter their holiday hours. One employee even said maybe they should stop answering the phones. As a loyal paying customer I don't want to hear that I am such a hinderance for your business. I was one of those people that called if they were open before arriving. Who wants to drive all the way to a store and find out they were actually closed? No one! It was just very classless for the employees to whine openly, in front of their customers, about the phones ringing. It is part of your job; I do it too so I know what it feels like! First visit to use the dryer only for blankets/ comforters. Very clean and spacious laundry mat. Look for automatic slide doors for easy entry on the far left. Stick cash or use a credit card to receive a "Laundry Card" to use on all machines. Whatever you don't use can be refunded. Neat! Will come here again and try the washers if needed. read more

My washer broke and I HAD to do laundry. I went there and found out you put money on a laundry card then use that card to get the washer to start. I thought that was an interesting concept since I remember having to use quarters back in the day! I was able to do three huge loads in 20 minutes and then I took everything home to dry. MIXED REVIEW: This is not a "bad" 1 or 2 star review because I did not rate them on the several good experiences that I have had over the years. I am reviewing today because of a bad drop-off experience. About ten of my items appear to have been dried too hot for the fabric and had melted in spots. Four bags of items were not even folded. I could understand two of them as the fabric was VERY long. If they had told me that they could not handle them, I would have said, "That's OK. I'll do them myself." Don't launder them and shove them into bags while still hot! When I called to ask what their policy is when a customer complains, the owner called me back and said, "I think we did a pretty damn good job!" I told him they did on the majority of the order...I had no problem with most of it. As a matter of fact, the majority was done extremely well and neatly folded. I then asked if he had seen the specific items that I was referring to (identifiable by color) and he admitted that he had not. He continued to dispute what I said with no basis. I was looking at the items, which he hadn't even seen! I didn't figure it was worth my time to try to resolve the issue since he was the owner and was only interested in arguing with me. I just said, "I won't be coming back." I guess I will take the loss as a lesson about him and move on. The facility appears clean and safe. The front desk folks are very nice and friendly. One employee was so conscientious that she found two bags of laundry that had been missing since my last drop-off service. She figured out that they were mine, labeled them and held them for my next pick-up! I can deal with mistakes, it was mainly the owner's telephone attitude that soured the situation. It upsets me that I am losing a good laundry option. I was praising Royal to someone just yesterday and saying how it has always been worth the drive. He could have had a vocal supporter if he had just been civil. read more

Since it's New Year's Day I decided to call to be sure they were open first. The young lady on the phone was especially friendly and very helpful. Later that day my dad and I stopped in to clean the comforter.. the woman working was absolutely delightful! Very friendly, showed us from A-Z how to work the machines and to get our money's worth.
