When I left, walking out the parking lot one of the workers ran after me. She asked why I only tipped 15%, and argued with me and to tip 30%. Have been going here for years and when I went to pay yesterday, the owner insisted and asked me to leave a bigger tip. Originally, I had left the same amount (very reasonable) of tip that I usually leave and he told me that since my total was higher than usual I should add a few more dollars "to make everyone happy". I had also already explained that I had given the first woman who helped me a cash tip which was why I was leaving the tip I had written on the receipt. He basically wouldn't let me leave until I added more money to my tip and was extremely rude to me and the other people I was with. Had a fine experience here. Not busy at all, I called ahead to see what the wait time was and there wasn't any on a Monday afternoon. I didn't get the name of my nail tech but she did a good job with a regular pedicure and a gel manicure - took her time with both! Very patient when I was picking my nail color and even helped me pick the color for my gel mani as I was between 2 colors. A little painful when she was pushing back/cutting my cuticles, and I told her a couple times, but it didn't change after I told her. I think she nicked me a bit on one finger as well, it stung a little when she put alcohol on it. The colors are really nice too and she was very meticulous when putting the nail polish on, except I left with some gel polish on my skin, which came off shortly after. Overall experience was fine and it got the job done, I'd consider coming back to get my nails done. read more

Tired of being treated poorly! I used to go to Royal Nails because two people there are very good with gel nails. But I got tired of the poor treatment so I walked away. I recently went back and experienced the same poor treatment, i.e. making an appointment but still having to wait 45 minutes bc my person took a walk-in, people talking in Chinese obviously about my hands and laughing hysterically, making an appointment with a specific person, and being given a completely different one, and so on. I always leave very generous tips, about 25-30% so that's not the issue... I will never go back! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would have. This salon is horrible. I got my nails done (powder) and in less than 5 days, so of my nails but 4 had completely chipped. They told me to come in and they'd fix it with no charge. So I went back in and after they finished fixing my nails, they actually had the audacity to charge me full price for fixing their poor job done!! Never again will I go to this salon!! Big Mistake! Being that this salon is located in Westport, I thought this place would be great. I was wrong. Not many gel colors to choose from..Foot rest on pedicure chair broken and wobbled when you moved your feet, armrest/table broken. The foot bath should have a whirlpool in it...right? Wrong! That was broken too. I wanted to run, out of there but decided to stay and finish what I went in for. I picked the green tea spa pedicure. Please save your money because all I got was green lotion spread on my legs and wrapped with saran wrap. No salts put in the bath..no hot towel wrapped on my legs.. no scrub, nothing! The pedicure... well if that is what I got was not good... another worker had to cut my toenails because the 1st girl didn't know how to clip the corners of my nails... strange...but okay... The callus removal was so so... got the rinse and that was it. The girl started painting my toenails... okay but what about the 15 minute foot massage? Doesn't that come after the feet are prepared? I started to wonder why my toes were being painted before the foot massage ... what about all that lotion that was supposed to be all over the place? The polish wouldn't be dry enough..right? I started to feel like I was getting ripped off and was done with this circus show. I was being charged $65.00 for all of this mess... I knew I was getting ripped off for what they called a pedicure...and told the girl I want to move onto the gel manicure... The manicure came out nice...took forever but it was nice...Now it was time to pay... $102.00!!! WHAT?????!!!!! Nah lady.... your pedicure sucked...I mean sucked...between the chair being broken... no jets in the foot bath...cream legs with saran wrap...no hot towel...OMG ... no massage... Air head boss came over and said she will take $5.00 off.. Wow how generous!! With her big $5.00 discount, the whole shit show cost me $101.00 plus a $10.00 tip.... now all I can do is hope and pray that I don't get a foot fungus from the dirty pedicure tools... dirty foot bath.... dirty, dirty, dirty! This was the first place that I went to that did the protection measures really well. Because it's during quarantine and most of the shops have closed because they didn't prepare their safety measures well. As I walk in to the shop I had to sanitized my hand and signin with my temperature. And the customer service was also great, they greeted me well. The manicure and pedicure they gave was also spectacular! I loved it, this will be my favorite place too, and they have cheap mani and pedi!!!! read more

It was my first time going there, it was a really great place and experience. All the workers there have really good manners I loved how they let you choose the type of nail polish you want, there was also samples on the nail display. I got a Color Gel there ,and my mom got a UV Gel it was incredibly beautiful it was a not that expensive too. And it's huge in there all the decorations and everything. Although I didn't make a appointment so they were really busy that time so it took like 15-30 min to wait but it was worth it. I go there every so often now! read more

I got my nails done here a few times, Last time I came while I was paying one of the ladies asked how much do I want to tip. I said I'll do 5 dollars and she looked at me and said FIVE? like I was a horrible person. She took my 20 and gave me 15 back and she literally threw the money at me - I was in shock and when I left and said ok bye she didn't even say anything to me it was so rude. Unlike Posh Spa, the chair massage that is offered when you have a manicure is extra and charged by the minute. 10 minutes is $15. Today, they had a full body reflexology massage for $60. I had my mani/pedi done here last week and overall pleased with everything. As soon as I walked in I was seen right away, didn't have to wait. I had my pedicure done first. I was pleased to see that they use plastic covers for the pedi tubs for sanitation ( because so many places still don't and I avoid those). The staff was nice and courteous, they walked around offering water to the clients as if was quite hot out. Than had my manicure done. Overall pleased with both. The girl did a nice job and the nail polish was applied evenly and neat. As for regular mani/pedi they did a nice job - no injuries, clean and neat:) The only thing that actually annoyed me a bit that the girl was a bit too chatty. And sometimes I don't mind a conversation, but that day I just wanted to close my eyes and relax, but she just wasn't getting the hint and kept talking and talking. My manicure did not make it very long. I ended up being kept waiting after I was in the chair for a VERY long time while my manicurist went to mind the front desk. I ended up having three different people work on my nails. Someone, either the nail person or the massage guy, REEKED of smoke. Very gross. But that said, the place is nice enough to try again. I inquired about gel colors, and they have a HUGE selection, so I will try them again but for a gel manicure. They have a lot of nice colors in both regular and gel. My manicurist completely abandoned me to work on their nails. None of the other staff members came over to finish my nails and were just standing around. Best Nail Salon in Westport! I absolutely love Royal Nails and Spa. I am new to the area and went there on a whim one day - I've gone back many times! Tonight I showed up less than 10 minutes before they closed but they insisted that I stay for my manicure. They turned all the lights back on and every employee stayed while I got my nails done!!
