Customer service plays a major role in all successful businesses, with that being said, I am certain that this nail salon will not last long. I've gone twice & recieved horrible customer service. Both times my daughter & I went, simple mani/pedi for her & acrylic/pedi for myself. Each time we were rushed & not even an attempt to build rapport with us were made. The female I had was very rude & rough with the instrument used to 'file' my cuticles & my acrylic set has bubbles that are clearly visible. The female who did my daughter's nails failed to remove all nail polish, which was still visible after services were completed. Needless to say, I am not going there anymore & will strongly discourage others to do so as well. read more

This salon is OK, I'm surely not gonna go running back anytime soon. My friend and I found ourselves here after another individual fell through with our appointment. I hopped on yelp and Royal Salon was in the area and open until 8! We walked in around 7:15 and they were able to take us right away. The lady that was doing my pedicure was really nice and did an awesome job. However, I truly felt sorry for the customer that was sitting next to me. A guy was doing her pedicure and everything she showed him he denied because he "couldn't do that design" but "his nail art specialist could but wasn't working". After many failed attempts with this guy she decided to do a simple neon pink pedicure. He went to the nail rack and picked out a salmon color pink, pastel pink and everything but a neon pink. At this point she was irate and insisted that she go to the nail rack herself. He gives her a stern and rude "NO", goes back to the rack and picks put another wrong shade of pink. He finally gives in and let's her pick out the color herself. I don't know what was wrong with him but she picked out the color like nothing. After my pedicure was done it was already 7:45, I moved on to my manicure with another employee....Tammy. She was nice, didn't say much. I was seated next to my friend who planned on doing a mother daughter manicure. When she informed the guy (a different one) he made up a lame excuse on why he couldn't and began to talk [in their language] to his co workers. DO NOT GO HERE!! This is the WORST nail salon EVER!!! I have been having my nails done professionally for decades. (Not at this awful place) The man whose name starts with B, who did my nails did not know what he was doing!! He put gelish polish and dried it with UV light and then he put regular polish on top of that! Even I know u cannot do that! The next day I came in with my peeling toenails and receipt and he said he would redo them. I came back three times and was told he wasn't working. Then I was told that he went to Vietnam for a month and nobody else could fix my nails. I waited for over 3 months with my receipt and my peeled nails in a ziplock and was told "this was months ago and I had to pay to get them fixed." The lady who appeared to be a manager was RUDE and told me she said had talked to me and she had not! In the meantime I was waiting for months for my two big toenails to grow back well enough to have my toes done properly. Steer clear from this place, they are mean and do not stand behind their work!!! So disappointed as I support my local stores over any others and I am sooooooo disappointed that I had to Yelp. I wish I could give zero stars because this is the second time I've come here to get my nails done. The reason I came here the first time was because my mom gets her pedis here so I decided to try it being that it's only right down the road from my house. I paid $104 for a gel FILL and a pedi with gel polish. I paid extra for paraffin wax, and didn't even get it! The next time I went back was because I needed a last minute place to get my nails done before my trip to Vegas so I decided to try them again, wrong move. I paid $107 for a new gel set and a gel pedi. I asked him for matte and he didn't give me that either . I decided not to say anything because he acknowledged the fact that I said I wanted matte black nails. Well i should've reminded him. 3 days into my trip one nail breaks which I had to get fixed in Vegas, and the next day the same finger but on the opposite hand breaks!!! It's only been a little over a week and now my thumb nail is breaking. IM NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN. Not for $107 for a crappy ass job and leaving with something I didn't even want to begin with. I could not possibly have been more disappointed with the service at this nail salon. My teen daughter was bullied by the nail tech who ignored her wishes at every turn and completely gave her what she insisted she did not want. When all was said and done, she was charged $65 for nails she did not like and which started cracking, peeling and falling off within 3 days of the visit. When contacting them they said they would do nothing and she would have to call the manager but they would not tell her a name or when she would be there. We attempted to contact another branch to request repair for all the issues with her nails only to be told that she would have to go back to the original location. We will never go back. Very poor service and lack of skilled employees! If I could I would give zero stars! read more

I have came here twice for full set acrylics. And both times had bad service. The lady asked me where I got my nails done because they were lifting so bad and I told here. From that point she argued with me consistently telling me they don't have that nail color and I did not get them done there. Then she turned around and said something in another language and the nail tech laughed and looked at me. I have no idea what was so funny but obviously it was something she could not say in English. That was the last straw, so I gave her a $10 for her service of filing the color off my nails and went outside. I gave them one star because my experience was bad, but on the other hand my daughter was treated like a princess by them. She got a pedi and mani and it looked beautiful. Nothing positive to say about this place. Went here to do a pedi and the nail tech (guy) was going in between my pedi and someone's nails using the same tool without cleaning it. I then questioned him about the tool when he came back to me and he looked over to the other nail tech and in their language he started to talk about me, coz duh they both looked over at me and made a face. I told him (nail tech) I didn't want to share the tool that's disgusting and he kept insisting it was clean. I picked up my stuff and left I do not recommend this place. read more

Had a lovely experience. The salon is beautiful, the chairs are comfortable and the staff is very friendly. We did have a mishap where a friend chose a dark gel nail polish and the tech painted her cuticles and had missed a corner on her pinky finger. We went back after seeing this and they gladly removed the polish and did the manicure again with a different color free of charge. And her nails looked amazing afterward. After having horrible experiences here in the past I stayed away for a good year but during an emergency I decided to go ahead and go there because they were the only place that was open. Within an hour of leaving my know was broken! The other nine are so thin I'm sure they're gonna break any second but that's okay because they're just full of ridges anyways because they were not properly buffed! While I was there there was a lady who was arguing with the stuff for over an hour pretty much almost my entire appointment screaming and yelling because she had every right to you she brought her daughter and in the asked to get a set of acrylic nails put on her daughter she said that she wanted to pay before she left and they said oh no pay when you get back when she got back they had talked her daughter into going from a regular set of acrylic $20 nails into $75 worth of work and gel nails etc. etc. it's disgusting, they have NO ethics & do horrible work! I have learned my lesson for sure this time & I'll NEVER GO BACK! Now I can go spend another $50 at another salon 60 or 70, who knows trying to get the crappy work that they did fixed, so my nails actually won't break or look like a 5yr old did them! I am a regular customer, spending my money here about twice a month. The staff here is great, and they all do good work. I am always happy with the service I receive and my favorite nail technician Tina is amazingly sweet and talented. But lately, I can't help but notice that they don't seem to be keeping the place as clean as they used to like when they first opened. The nooks and crannies of the place aren't swept up and the floors and glass windows are quite dirty. I suggest the staff take some time to cleaning up in-between clients instead of watching movies on their smart phones. Wiping down the drying station and windows and sweeping and mopping the floor would be an improvement. We regular customers count on you to do a good job and we can't help but question the overall sanitation of the place if the basic cleaning stuff isn't being kept up with. I am a happy customer who doesn't want to have to find another salon. Have a little more pride in your salon! read more

For many years I've gone to Helen but now I go to whoever is open at the time and get gel mani and pedi with eyebrow and lip wax. For me, Nina is my go to person because she really helps and is kind to her customers. Usually the work is very well done. In my opinion, if you nicely ask the nail techs about colors and designs and just be open with what designs you personally want then service there should be just fine! read more

DON'T. GO. HERE. I came in on a Friday at around 250pm and had high hopes for the place even with the bad reviews. I had a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure. I was immediately greeted and told to sign in. Within a couple minutes a woman helped me. She was very nice and did a good job grooming my toenails but that was about it. The massage was extremely short! And the actual polish application was VERY heavy handed! The manicure wasn't so great either, the massage was strange and she put so much lotion and cuticle oil that she had to have me wash my hands! Talk about not relaxing! And she filed my long nails so close to my skin that they hurt on the sides. And don't get me started on the nail polish! She glopped it on so much that it took HOURS to dry and it looked terrible and had so many bubbles! Both the manicure and pedicure took 40 minutes total! Which is absurdly fast! I don't recommend coming here, it's awful, I'll stick to my Pandora Nails in town. read more

I love it here. So much better than Ami's salon. Came in to remove my gel nails and get a new set only because they weren't looking too good. Made an appointment and was seated right away. My nail technician was Amy. She's so gentle. Maybe she goes a little hard while filing the nails. But it's okay! As long as it doesn't hurt. Would give 5 stars but I was having a hard time picking a color. They don't have much selection. I wanted to go with the nudes. Found a nude I liked and they ran out. I was kinda disappointed. But what can I do. I can't sit and complain and wait for the nail color to pop outta nowhere. Amy saw me struggling trying to find a color and she came back with 4 different colors similar to the one I wanted. And I really appreciate that. I chose the same color but it had some minor glitter on it which I don't mind. I like a little glitter here and there. Also with this nail color you could see through the nail. I mean that's how it is with a lot of light colors. But it's not appealing. Overall I will come back here. One thing though, what grossed me out was they didn't clean their gear after using it. horrible. been here 4 times. always overpriced but they were nice so went with it. last time we went it was our usual $200 tip included for two pedicure and two manicures both gel. this time we went and just did our toes and brought a gel color we had from home that we wanted them to paint with. lady said it would be $27 plus $5 for the next level above a basic pedicure so we both agreed. that would've brought the bill to $32 per person and there were two of us. at the end the lady hands our gel polish back to us and says it's $129.82. LOL WHAT? she said you guys had callous removal on top and I asked how much extra it was she said $5 for each. okay we are cool with that. we ask so how is it going from $37 a person to $65 a person? She said it was $50 extra for both of us to have our toes painted with the gel we brought from home, because they don't allow clients to bring their own product. We were never told this. I cannot believe this. We are HUGE tippers but we decided to pay and just leave. we are both disgusted. we were told a price and then completely blindsided at the end with a huge bill. Last time we went it was $200 with tip for gel manicure AND pedicure. This time it was $129.82 for two pedicures with our own gel polish. Please make this make sense?? read more

I always go to royal nails In Kapolei which isn't bad at all but this place is TERRIBLE. I wrote my name down without any greeting from anyone just stares and it took 35 minutes just for them to get me started! I told the lady I wanted a specific shape and showed her. She was being difficult and kept telling me " square look nice on you pay extra for shape" ya okay I get it just please do what I'm asking you to do. This is my second time coming here and I'm still satisfied with my gelish manicure and pedicure combo. So far my the only nail techs I've had here was Ken and Tammy, and I really enjoyed how Ken did my pedicure from the leg massage to the cuticle clean up and the fact he was making some what small talk with me. The other techs should learn to be a little more friendly and should talk to there customers, and learn to do more nail designs. But other then that I'll be back to see Ken again. read more

t approximately 2:05pm I walked into Royal Nails to see if they could take my daughter in. I said she would like a pedicure and told the woman at the front desk that my daughter was in a wheel chair. There was a man giving someone a pedicure and he looked up at us and asked me if she could get into the pedicure chair. I said I don't think she can by herself and I can't lift her up because I just had surgery myself. He said "if she can't get in there we can't do it." I was shocked he said it in front of everyone. Usually I would raise hell but I didn't want to ruin my daughters prom day by stressing her out over something like that. I went back to my car contemplating if I should just try and carry her into the chair myself but decided not to risk hurting myself and they made me feel pretty unwelcome so I didn't want to give them business anyway so I turned around and left. We will be just fine but what they did is wrong and I don't want them to discriminate against others in the future. read more
