I often go walking here. They have a good walking trail.. the park is well maintain and in a good location. Definitely recommend.

Great park, played pickleball for the first time at this park. The courts are tennis and pickleball hybrid. It's clean and used frequently by the neighborhood. There's also a running/bike trail so you can exercise and not worry about cars. The Duarte Run Club runs this trail route every Wednesday in the summertime evenings. read more

A really nice and clean park! People there are also really friendly and pick up after their dogs. Also seems like almost every dog there is really well behaved. My dog is small and gets scared of larger dogs, so he'll start growling. But every time we encountered a large dog, he didn't growl or bark! I was surprised, maybe he sensed the dogs were nice too. I also really appreciate that there's police that drive around and patrol the park area. Made me feel much more safe knowing that if I needed to alert the police of anything, they were nearby. read more

When I first got married, my bride and I lived in east Monrovia, and happened upon this park walking our dogs down the Royal Oaks walking/jogging/biking/horseback-riding path. The park is at the eastern end of the path, and is a rational turn-around point for joggers and dog walkers. The park itself is well maintained and generally self-policing with lots of families and regular sheriff patrols. There are picnic facilities, a play structure for the kiddies, tennis courts, basketball courts, a small "rec center" and restrooms. Across the street, the park continues with a few covered tables and an expanse of grass for soccer, running wild, or playing fetch with your canine companion. Royal Oaks is marked 25 mph, and there is a pretty wide berth of green space between park and street, but watch your kids-- children can be fast, and so can cars on this street, despite traffic enforcement. As a bonus for walkers, runners and bikers, try challenging yourself by going up La Loma Ave between the two parks. It is a steep dead end street that will definitely get your heart pumping. There is a great view at the top on clear days, and it adds some nice cardio to the otherwise flat Royal Oaks trail. This park (or Encanto park about 1/2 mile east) is also a good bathroom stop if you're biking the San Gabriel River trail. read more

This little park in Duarte is nice and generally fairly maintained. There is a nice playground with swings, a few dirty benches, a few grills and a little gazebo with picnic tables, 2 tennis courts, a rec center and a basketball court. (There are also bathrooms here, next to the basketball court) Great place to bring little kids, have a picnic and maybe even have a little outdoor birthday gathering. This place is also a nice place to walk your dog. But this place is not very safe to go to at night. Throughout the year, a handful of city events take place here, including the route 66 parade celebration, 4th of July fireworks and the Halloween carnival. There really isn't much else to say about this place except that it's just okay. read more

My daughter has basketball practice here all the time. It has 2 basketball courts and a tennis court. The best thing,is the nice and clean trail! I run here usually to get a good 4-5 miles. The main park itself is green and has lots of tall trees,BBQ picnic areas and playground. Ample parking for free. Quiet location. read more

Great park for those that like to play sports, are looking for a large area of grass for your pets to play, or just a place to hang out and picnic. Came on a Saturday afternoon, and pretty much had the whole park to ourselves. We brought our 2 dogs as 3 parrots, laid some blankets out and brought our basketball to shoot around. Soon the park started to liven up, parents were playing tennis with the kids, kids came to play basketball, and parents and kids attended a party of some sort. I never saw and scary or suspicious people, and people we met were friendly. The bathrooms were very clean, with seat covers, toilet paper, and even mirrors. There were lots of places to sit in the sun, as well as in the shade. We will definitely be back with some tennis racquets! Update: played tennis at night and it was great, except the wiring for the lighting needs to be checked. Sometimes we had to play with the switch, other times the lights would come right on. Switch for the bball courts work just fine. read more

This review is specifically for the tennis courts! I'm currently here at the park right now at the tennis courts waiting for my friend to get here so we can play a game. I'd like to suggest to the city that the courts be kept better looking. There is actual poop here on the courts. I'm not sure if someone let their dog use the court as bathroom or maybe a wild animal may have. Anyway its totally gross and I don't think I will play tennis here again! read more

Love this park. It's quiet, clean, and it only takes me 2 minutes to get here. I can take my 1 year old on walks without feeling cramped. There's trees lining most of the way so it has nice shaded areas while walking the trail. And there's not usually many people there, so my kid can play in the playground without having to take turns. read more

Nice little park in Duarte to take your kids for some playtime. Enough playground equipment to satisfy your little ones for an hour or two of play. There is a grassy area to run around in or just plop yourself down for a picnic. There are also a couple of basketball courts, tennis courts, and poles set up for a volleyball net. There is also a building on site, which I think houses community classes. The day we were there a karate class was going in. Overall, pretty well maintained. Would be a nice place to also park your car if you wanted to walk/bike/run on the trail. read more

I have been coming Hereford 2 years to run and exercise and I love it! It's clean, green and beautiful! Running on the trail has always made me feel safe and well. It's sometimes crowded early in the morning but there's always ample space to exercise and enjoy the outdoors! Great place! Go out and enjoy it! read more

Came here with my girlfriend to eat lunch on my break time and I love the park! It's super clean and they have many benches to sit on. They have trash cans on site and it's perfect for the little ones. I brought my son here and he loves the play ground even tho he was 9 months old. Nice neighborhood and very cool place to have a picnic. I will keep coming here when ever I get the chance. read more

Great place to walk in the evening. Lots of people walking dogs, riding bikes, running, or walking... It takes me about an hour to walk from the parking lot to the end and back (Yes, I'm a slow walker). All dogs I've encountered here have been on leash and under the owners control, which is a pleasant surprise! read more

The bathrooms are always closed. It would be nice if they could remain open during daytime hours. I also think that the equipment is old and needs to be updated. There is such a nice walking trail near that park, it's a shame if the equipment is so old. I think adding woodchips as opposed to the traditional sand would also be a nice touch to this park. read more

Great park, been coming here as a kid. The park is big and quite clean. Good place to come and play tennis or basketball. They also have physical activity classes here, such as Zumba, shotokan karate, and other classes. You can go to accessduarte.com to see all the classes. read more

I wish I could give Royal Oaks Park five stars, sadly I can't. The Temple City sheriff need to police this place better. Constant pot smoking and drug selling at this park. You smell the pot when you walk by, and can see the transactions taking place. Police need to make their presence known! For those of you that don't know, the City of Duarte does not have a police department. They are serviced by Temple City. read more

its just your typical park. It has 2 tennis courts, 2 basketball courts, kids play ground, and it also has a horse trail that leads you to Bradberry. Just don't come at night because of pot heads getting high in the parking lot. read more
