First, after giving Brenda 3 weeks notice for pulling my boat, we were curtly told that was not enough time. (Keep in mind our 3 year agreement for maintenance and storage boasted preferential treatment.) This required me to hire someone to trailer my boat to them when our agreement was for me to drop it off in the water at their docks. After picking it up in the spring, in the water I noticed an area on the bottom of my boat that was damaged. Unfortunately, it was after the water had warmed up and I snorkeled under the boat to notice it. I did not expect them to own up to it and advised them I would fix it myself. (The oil was also over filled) What annoys me is she never acknowledged or responded to my email. There main office in Portland also ignored my complaint.

Wind did pick up so we sailed at 5 knots nicely for awhile. It was also much cooler on the water than on land, so a welcome relief. All the sails went up, and the small size of the schooner was perfect. To see the…read moresea The Lazy Jack is a 48 foot schooner that holds up to 14 people. Not exactly in comfort but you can find a comfy place on board to see everything that is going on. And a whole lot is usually going on this ship. The Lazy Jack was built in 1947 and is modeled after the great Gloucester fishing schooners of the last century. It was used for years to haul cargo from Massachusetts down to the Bahamas. Now the great ship is doing the work of hauling tourists around Boothbay Harbor. Under the skilled command of Caption Joe and his son Michael, the ship gives two hour tours around the harbor. Lots of great views of the islands, lighthouses and if you are lucky you might even see a seal, osprey or bald eagle. The two hour tour costs only 32 bucks for an adult and is an very cool experience. Capt Joe just doesn't prattle away the entire trip. He will point out various things of interest and answer all questions but he leaves enough quiet so the passengers can enjoy the sound of the ocean and wind. Unfortunately we didn't have a whole lot of wind so it wasn't as exciting as I hoped but it still was wonderful trip. Just so much to see and learn, the two hours went by so fast. You can bring you own booze and junk food on board and even take a turn at the wheel if you desire. These old schooners take a lot more sail management than the more modern sloops or catboats and just watching Michael and Joe constantly adjusting the sails was quite entertaining and educating. The tour runs from Memorial Day to the end of October and can also be chartered for all day excursions. A fantastic way to spend a couple of hours on the water and easily worth the 32 bucks. We returned all wind blown, a bit wet and a little sore but very, very happy.

If you are looking for a fun way to have and adventure in Casco Bay this is the way to do it! My first trip on the Frances was hosted by winewise events and I learned all about Pinot Noir while enjoying cheeses and amazing views of Maine's rocky shore. For my second cruise I joined Bread and Butter catering the culinary geniuses behind the former Pocket Brunch for the inaugural Pocket cruise where I drank tropical drinks from a coconut while enjoying delicious Caribbean dishes created by Chef Josh Potocki. I am completely frustrated and dissatisfied with the customer service I have had with GND right from the beginning with my 1st purchase of the 2 pieces I bought in 2024. I actually looked around and sought out other dock companies before deciding that at least your company would have my original plans and dock design and it would be easier to assemble the next 2 sections I was buying, but I was WRONG. I had explained to you that I was having to tow this dock system across the lake and needed to have 2 floats on the floating piece. On the morning of delivery I was informed that there was only one float on both pieces. How did you really think that I was going to tow this setup across the lake with 1 float? Seriously? I had told you more than 1 time I needed 2 floats and it was probably on a phone call so it is not documented so it never happened You said to me that you can not attach floats to a dock that has not been set up to attach the floats, See pictures. I didn't have any problems attaching 3 floats to the pieces I just bought. So included here are pictures of you SCREWING up your measurements of hinge line up from this new piece to my old piece with SPECIFIC explanation of the dock hinge line up STATING that the hinge line up would be configured with YOUR dock measurements to ensure that they would go together correctly with the new pieces I was buying down the road, 2026 You totally messed up your hinge placement engineering of my new dock to fit my old dock pieces. I am totally screwed by your incompetence of YOUR customer service communication. It was super luxe with an awesome sound system, a canopy for shade, plenty of storage and tons of room for everyone to sit. They don't call it the minivan of the boating world for nothing! Lol The team that set us up was great and they took their time orienting us to the boat. Adding on the SEA BEAST took the adventure up a level and the kids had a blast being pulled behind the boat. We lucked out with beautiful weather the water was amazing. The lake was warmer than the ocean, clear and refreshing. Even though my husband thought leaving our beach vacation for a day on the lake was nuts-- he thanked me later. We can't wait come rent a boat again!
