I went to Royal Spa yesterday and I witnessed two different customers coming in at staggered times using the same station without it being wiped down very disgusting with no sanitizing at all! Now I see why other customers have reported infections after visiting this Spa! Don't go!! I know it my be convenient since it's in the Mall Towne East, but it's not worth it!! My daughter was giving a gift paper for $90 and the picture person said "I can do pedicure for the $90!!! WHAT!!! I pay $25 for those and the place I go is always packed but they sanitized everything before the sit the next person down!! read more

NAIL COMPLAINT: Beware! I went to this nail salon for a manicure with shellac polish. The nail technician was way too quick & started to soak off my existing shellac nail polish for only about 3 minutes then proceeded to use a tool to vigorously scrape off the polish on my nails. She was rough & not gentle whatsoever, several times I would jerk my hand back saying that hurt to her reply, sorry. I should of left then! She used nail tools I never saw from any sanitary solution -they were from her drawer as well. Long story short, I left there with all my nail beds sore - 2 weeks later diagnosed with bacterial nail infection & placed on antibiotics for 10 days. My nails hurt & look horrific. I may lose all my nails as this infection heals. Beware & always watch for proper sterility/sanitation of all nail tools used on yourself before continuing to get your nails done! Even the brushes at the sink labeled clean & used -who knows if used one placed in clean basket! None were in any sanitary solution either. A hard lesson learned! I've been going here for about 7 years! I tip every time I come! I'm nice to the nail technicians! Idk what's gotten into these ladies but over the last I'd say 7 months, they've gotten mean and cold to me! They act like they don't want me to come! The last 2 times i came the services I got were horrible ! I'm black so idk maybe that has something to do with it. But I'll never be back! Worst mani/pedi experience I've ever had. I was crying half way through. Poor communication, she hurt my toe so horribly. Then she was removing my polish and nicked my cuticles. The lady had me stick my fingers in the nail polish remover and it caused me so much pain where she had cut my skin already. She didn't ask how I wanted my nails cut and basically cut them in the wrong shape. The area was so messy. I have never been so disappointed. After I started crying, she just kept apologizing saying she doesn't speak English. I could tell she was worried and I felt bad for her but I will never go back. The manager asked if I wanted to tell her what happened but I just wanted to get out of there. They all knew what happened. They gave me a $5 discount but I feel like they should be paying me for the horrible experience. I would not recommend us this place. read more

RUN!!!! Worst manicure I've had. Kept trying to sell me extra the entire manicure. Finished polish had bumps and polish on skin/cuticles. Rude when I asked to file down a little shorter. First of all, the techs do not want to be at work. They make it apparent you're inconveniencing them when you walk in for service. I normally wouldn't leave a bad review but this is my second time in 2 weeks and have been treated the same. The lady doing my toes was upset that I wouldn't upgrade to a higher pedicure and had an attitude the whole time she was doing my regular pedicure. Charged me $5 to remove what was left of my previous polish. The lady doing my nails cut me with the file and before I could even attempt to get up and wash the cut, she just glues it back together with nail glue. She didn't ask me how I liked my nails shaped, she just started filing them. When I told her I wanted them square she just said "Oh". Some are square and the others are rounded. They're all uneven. They're prices are about $10 higher than most other salons and you definitely don't get that quality work. I feel robbed. I wanted to give them a second chance before judging them and that's why I went twice - and got an overpriced half assed job both times. Save yourself the trouble. read more

My technician allowed staff people and another customer to interrupt my services repeatedly and cut into my time with her. Yesterday 7/13/16 was my second and final attempt and using their services. The first time the lady that did my pedi and full set was rough time, completely cut up my cuticles and ruined the shape of my nails. now months later I try them again after hearing good reviews from a friend and the tech that did my nails was rude, the shape still isn't correct and when I mentioned that to her she got upset. She rushed me because she had an appt coming, my nails weren't dry and she rubbed them to make sure, which smudged the Polish, and again when I asked her to repaint it she got an attitude and to make matters worse, now only 24 hrs later, 9 out of 10 nails have chipped or is completely missing Polish. So disappointed. I'll be going elsewhere on my birthday now, paying extra to get them fixed. Will never go here again. read more

Very disappointed in my experience and the customer service here. She did a good job at doing my nails how SHE wanted them. I got a dip powder manicure. I like and have to keep my nails short due to work, I let her know this. She put fake tips on my nails, which I've never had them do. I had to ask her at least 6 times they needed to be shorter for her to rudely argue back with me on how she thought they were already too short. I gave up because I was getting no where. I don't know about you guys, but when I go to get a pedicure, I do so with the intention of relaxing. This experience was definitely not that! From the time me and my sister were seated, our nail techs repeatedly pushed us to get the more expensive service or tried to get us to agree to shellac or gel polish consistently throughout the WHOLE pedicure. Every time we disagreed and just asked for the service we requested, they'd roll their eyes and speak in another language but I honestly feel they were saying rude things about us. Once we arrived, we picked the color we wanted for our pedicures and gave them to the pedicurists. Then, they go on with asking us what color we want even though they have what color we selected. The tech raises her voice to tell us what we picked out is gray instead of white even though we picked out what WE wanted. I was using my phone and my pedicurist accused me of taking a picture of her even though I was just searching the web. When I tried to pay for my service, the young lady at the front desk was rude and acted like it was a hassle to take my payment. They didn't seem very appreciative that we supported their business and overall the presented a HORRIBLE vibe and atmosphere. I will never return here again. read more

this is the worst place ever! i went in there yesterday and got a full set plus paid ten dollars extra for gel. today one of my nails snapped off! went back in to get it fix and they wanted to charge me again and charged me for it being gel! they burnt my skin and i have a blister. i will never ever go here again. i am vietnamese and they were talking crap on everyone. they are not friendly at all! i had to pay 15 just to fix one nail plus i got a blister on my finger. very bad place to go to for anything!!! they dont sanitize anything, i saw the worker put back a cuticle cuter and pumice block back into her drawer and used it on the next customer for a pedicure. nastiest place ever! read more

By the end my nails turned out alright, she hurt me multiple times. my cuticles have two nicks that bled. She didn't do the shape I wanted and would pull my arms and hands really hard and was yanking my fingers around... Absolutely the WORST nail service I've ever received and I've had some pretty bad times other places. Oh and she charged me more than the agreed price I asked initially what it would be. I waited a week after contacting Royal Spa directly to try and resolve the issue. I have heard nothing back so it's obvious that they are aware of the issues and are still ignoring it. Price is average for being inside a mall. They do push hard to upgrade to gel or if you're getting gel upgrade to dip (which is a complete crap form of mani). From my several experiences-maybe 10- there are a few awesome technicians, a couple average, and then a couple flat out awful ones. There's an older (not really old but older than the average technician) who wears her hair in a very long pony and has a short sleeve button up work shirt and a college-age technician who are both legit. I think a lot of the negative reviews come from a technician who has shorter dyed blond hair- I think her name is Tammy if the apron she was wearing belonged to her. My boyfriend and I get Pedis every so often and he said when he had her, she cut him multiple times and did a poor job over all, giving him an ingrown big toe. I had her a little over 3 weeks ago and it was pretty bad experience. We went in for a pedi and to remove my acrylics. I told the front desk twice and the technician 3 times that wanted acrylics removed using different phrasing to make sure they understood. During the pedi my cuticles and surrounding toes were snipped multiple times and one was bleeding so bad, I still have blood streaks/chunks in my nail polish and the scab healed a couple days ago. When she applied the top coat, she only covered part of the nail and I can see a distinct separation of about 1/8 in from where the polish starts and where the top coat starts. When we got to my hands, I finally figured out that she didn't listen to a word I said when she got out the materials to do a fill on my acrylics, not a removal. Instead of soaking them off, she proceeded to rip them off my fingers by using spare acrylic tips and shoving them between my nail and the acrylic. She ripped my nail in half so bad, it wouldn't stop bleeding until she glued it with nail glue. Then, because she had ripped my nails off with the acrylics, my nails were so thin I was forced to opt for the dip nail technique to protect what little nail I had left. She tried to sell me on it by saying my nail would grow out completely in 3-4 weeks. I didn't really believe her but I was curious. 3 weeks later and my nails have grown exactly 1/8 in. Like I said, the only reason I got it was to protect my paper-thin nails. The dip is as thick as acrylic and the nail she ripped in half has been chipping for at least a week.
