When I started my home renovation, my contractor had "his guy" lined up to install all the audio and visual throughout the house. But when the time came, the guys price was outrageous and he was impossible to get a hold of, so I took matters into my own hands. Their prices were fair and James spent hours working with me to customize a system that met my budget without sacrificing quality or sound. He looked at everything I already had and told me what we could use and what we couldn't. In other words, he wasn't in this just to make a buck, but rather to help me create what I was looking for without up-selling. His long time business associate Jeff showed up with his team first thing in the morning and got right to work. They were friendly, attentive and meticulous. They worked from the crack of dawn until nearly sundown to make sure the job was done on time and exactly the way I wanted it. They were so great they even kept my almost 6 year old daughter entertained from time to time. I've worked with James and the crew at Royal Theater Design for years. He helped design my home audio / theater system when I first bought my condo, and I've worked with him throughout the years as I've made upgrades. While his services are not inexpensive, I think they are reasonable and I am always assured that my system will work as promised. He can provide the equipment, usually at a good price, but he will also suggest other options like Amazon if there is a better deal to be had. He's also helped me with one-off consultation free of charge when I've had general questions about home audio which I have appreciated...for instance, last year I wanted to create a 'record room' / den in one of my spare bedrooms...he provided feedback on receivers and also confirmed my choice to use a Sonos amp in that room with a Sonos Connect to tie into my main home audio system (he had mentioned several years ago that I would eventually want a Sonos system, and I really like it). Anyway, if you want your home theater system to work well and you are willing to make an investment, then I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to Royal Theater Design. Royal theater design is a class A company with clean cut respectful employees. The workmanship is both efficient and thorough. We couldn't be happier. We have had 5 to 7 quotes, each co. rep has a different idea on what needs to be done. Our theater is most likely on the Less expensive side. This was made apparent by all the other companies who came in and bid on the job. This was the first notable factor of Royal theater designs. This is my first ever Internet "post" due to the fact technology and myself DO NOT get along AT ALL. Which leads me to why I have decided to post, blog, or whatever this is called. I have used RTD (using call letters RTD because don't really know how to spell Theather) for a few minor project. They were kind enough to do such small jobs due to my lack of understanding of what they actually do and how technology works. Spending time with James and Jeff I came to learn why they made certain suggestions. You don't find many CEO's and their cape crusaders spending time not only listening to novice questions but patiently answering and educating on the various topics. I recently purchased a home and immediately called RTD to do some automation. The job turned out fantastic and they went above and beyond what needed to be done. As anything in life if you want the quality and expertise then you pay the extra dollar. It is like in Vegas, you can find company at any hotel, but would you rather find it at Casino Royal or the Wynn. They are worth every penny and you can bet you'll receive the best quality of work and even better customer service. James the CEO would call me back same day and Jeff his right hand man was a pleasure to be around when working on site. Great, honest, and trustworthy group at RTD. In a world that is foreign to me, they nurtured me into a new culture which I can now survive, minus a few frantic calls every now and again. I was looking to upgrade my TV and surround sound. One of my friends recommended Royal Theater Design so I gave them a call. They were cool about doing a walk-through of my apartment at 6:30pm, which was nice because I didn't want to have to take time off work. James came, checked out my place and made some solid recommendations. He even suggested rearranging some of my furniture to make better use of my living room space! He gave me an estimate that was within the budget I had discussed and told me the whole job could be done in a day. I agreed and 3 days later his crew showed up, hung a 58" TV, built a custom cabinet for my components, mounted surround sound speakers, programmed the remote, calibrated everything and cleaned up by the time I got home from work! I couldn't be happier with the system they designed but the best part was they did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it, for the price they quoted. After waiting a few years for an opportunity/opening to upgrade from a studio apartment to a 1 Bedroom in my building in Santa Monica, I knew I wanted to make this new apartment as nice as possible! My studio was great, but I really wanted to dial my new place in! I contacted James, and he did a walk through with me. He let me tell him what I thought I wanted, and then he blew my mind with what he had planned! He set me up w/ a great TV within my budget & full 5.1 surround sound in my living room! They mounted my TV and were able to hide all the cables as well as all of my media players! They routed all my stuff into my closet to give my new living room an amazing clean look! No wires! No nothing! All of my devices were controlled by one remote control using inferred transmitters! Knowing that I lived alone, James recommended that instead of having 2 DirecTV receivers in an apartment, I would be better using only one DirecTV receiver and splitting the signal sending it to my Living Room and Bedroom! He then told me I could do the same w/ my BluRay Player and Apple TV! This was all done in a timely fashion and in such a professional manner! The icing on the cake is that James remembered that I told him I was a huge music fan! So he allowed me to listen to music off of my system by setting me up w/ 2 speakers in my Bedroom and 1 in my bathroom!!! Yep!!! No more little speaker fighting w/ my shower head, now I have a true speaker playing my favorite tunes wherever I go! Getting up in the morning has never been so enjoyable!!! Not to mention that I can play the audio from my TV through those speakers as well so I can do chores and never miss a beat of any game I have playing on TV! ***I was able to have that Super Bowl Party I always dreamt of!!!*** I highly recommend Royal Theater Design and have already referred them to many friends! I had a hard time finding a vendor that was "local" but when I found Royal Theater Design, I realized that they have a large service area and they were willing to come out to Claremont where we live. We had our surround system in the living room upgraded, a Sonos system installed inside and outside and an amazing outdoor speaker system set up. RTD also put together a single remote control and controls on our iPads / phones so that we can easily access our cable, music, Blu-ray etc. really easily and ran wires / cables to make everything look super clean. The sound quality in our living room is amazing and the only issue with our backyard is that we're probably going to drive our neighbors crazy and we have to wait a few months to throw an awesome party outside. Working with Royal Theater Design was great from the first consultation appointment to the end of the install. The crew who was in our house installing this over two days was professional, easy to work with, and cleaned up everything when they were done.
