It was the first time EVER we walked out without having to pay an arm and a leg at an emergency vet. We were shocked when we were quoted $9,000 for 5 days of hospitalization. When we explained that we could not afford that and asked them to keep him comfortable only until morning while we looked for another option, we were quoted $4,000 for just 12 hours. What I will never forget is standing there watching our cat suffer while we felt like everything depended on whether we could immediately agree to pay thousands of dollars. When people bring a sick pet to an emergency hospital in the middle of the night, they are scared and vulnerable. They should feel that their animal's pain comes first -- not that they are being financially cornered at the worst possible moment. Our experience here was absolutely terrible. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

Only for doctor Berkovets!!!…read more ONE STAR. If I could give zero, I would. I brought my young Maine Coon here for a routine neuter. What followed after this "routine" procedure turned into a nightmare. About a week into treating the complications and problems that began after the procedure and subsequent treatment, the doctor actually suggested that I EUTHANIZE my cat. Immediately after surgery, my cat developed a severe cough. I repeatedly told the doctor about it, but in my experience, my concerns were simply brushed off. Within two days, my cat stopped eating and drinking, developed severe watery diarrhea, weakness and unsteadiness, and his temperature at the clinic reached a terrifying 107.3°F. Then came one injection and medication after another. What disturbed me most was that he was given two medications that, as I was later told, should not have been given together or so close together. I was left with the impression that the doctor simply failed to account for the previous injection before giving the next one. After that, my cat had around 11 episodes of vomiting, became severely dehydrated, and needed days of fluid therapy. His condition continued to deteriorate: high fever, vomiting, refusal to eat, major weight loss, gastrointestinal problems, and later serious breathing problems after aspirating fluid. At one point, my critically ill cat was left at the clinic overnight even though, to my understanding, there was no veterinary staff physically present there overnight. As an owner, I found that absolutely terrifying. I also believe his throat may have been injured during intubation because the coughing started immediately after the procedure, yet that concern was never taken seriously. I was also shocked by how outdated and disorganized this clinic felt. Records appeared to be kept largely on paper, getting complete treatment information was difficult, and I did not see a clear modern system documenting medications, injections, and the full history of what had been done to my cat. The most frightening part was that I kept bringing him back, kept paying, and kept trusting the doctor while my cat became weaker and weaker. Instead of a clear plan, clear explanations, and a serious attempt to determine why he was deteriorating, I eventually heard a suggestion to euthanize him. I brought in a young cat for a routine procedure. What followed was weeks of vomiting, dehydration, weight loss, breathing problems, repeated medications, and suffering. In my personal experience, the care was careless, chaotic, outdated, poorly coordinated, and deeply lacking in compassion. I will never trust this clinic with any of my animals again.

Dr. Arik Skogstad was very nice and he did a full exam on our dog. He gave our dog subcutaneous fluids, a B12 shot and probiotics. I brought in a stool sample and will get the results on Monday. They also expressed his anal glands. I highly recommend Wellness Animal Hospital.

After 9 vet visits over 10 weeks with two other vets, he still had an ear infection. He needed further treatment but now he doesn't want to get out if the car to go into the office. In addition we discovered he has dog reactivity issues as well. The Dr. and the staff were awesome. They developed a plan to manage his anxiety. We were able to get him in the office and into a treatment room set up like a living room- couch and all. They each have few of their own pets home and they simply know how to treat my cats so they are at upmost comfort while at the doctor's. My cats quickly relax every time we get there and tons of kisses and cuddles help them adjust quickly and forget about an exam or any other activity ( like ear cleaning of nail trim). I said okay, when can you do it? He says he doesn't do dental and they had someone who comes in for dental. I declined. I felt uncomfortable with an unknown vet treating my cat. Also, my cat was uncomfortable with the vet. Never had that problem before, even in Chicago. I asked some of the ladies in the Venetian who they recommended and a few had great reviews to share about Dr. Berkowitz. I scheduled an appointment for a checkup. My cat really liked him rubbing up on him to claim ownership. This is the first time that ever happened. Dr. Berkowitz also said that tooth needed to be checked under sedation. He cleaned up the area and sent her home. Once we inherited the second cat, also a Persian she like him as well.
