Fact is my initial request for a prescription for Fluoxetine was ignored. I believed his throwing up was anxiety related and guess what I believe I was correct. He's been on melatonin and has stopped the excessive grooming and more importantly stopped throwing up. Dr Myburgh disagreed with me and insisted it was something he ingested. Keeping in mind he did not review my cats chart to see that it had been over two weeks between visits where my cat did not throw up at all and would have known he was already on a prescription diet which Dr Myburgh suggested as an option on my second visit . He said cats don't throw up when stressed..really?? I do appreciate the refund but quite frankly under the circumstances a full refund should have been given.

I got on Yelp and found Lemon Bay Animal Hospital got great reviews so I went here. They took great care of my Doggies. Amara gets arthritis shots and during our walks I could tell she was due for another one. I called the vet and let them know that we just moved here and they got her in as soon as possible to get an exam so she could get her shot . Amara also had a lump on her head that was getting bigger and bigger, and they removed it along with another little lump. They've treated my Doggies great and are very welcoming to me and every time I enter the door. They are also very cost-effective which signals to me they care about animals health first and money second. I originally brought my dog in, who has an extensive and well-documented history of allergies, simply to continue his long-standing allergy medication. Despite his records clearly showing he has been on the same medication for years, I was required to schedule and pay for a full exam. I accepted this. However, when his medication ran out and I requested a routine monthly refill, the clinic refused and required another full visit and exam fee just to refill the same medication. This was extremely frustrating and not something I've experienced with other veterinary practices. Shortly after, I brought my dog back for a scratch on his eye. The treatment provided did not resolve the issue. At a follow-up visit, I was told he would most likely need to be rushed to a veterinary ophthalmologist and potentially require anesthesia. I was charged approximately $600 for bloodwork and anti-nausea medication to "prepare" him for this referral. When we actually saw the veterinary ophthalmologist (a completely separate clinic), none of that bloodwork or medication was needed, and the eye issue was managed with a different treatment plan that was effective. This made the prior visit feel unnecessary, poorly coordinated, and avoidable. Because the eye issue was not properly addressed early on, my dog dealt with this problem for over a month, causing unnecessary stress, time, and financial burden. While I understand vets are trying to help, the lack of coordination and repeated full-charge visits added up quickly and felt excessive. Given the repeated issues, unnecessary costs, and overall experience, we will not be returning to this practice.

I brought my senior dog in for her annual check-up. I was concerned about her bleeding gums and licking one of her paws; otherwise, my dog is healthy for her age. The vet said she had an anti-bacterial rinse for her mouth and spray for her paws; however, she seemed to be more interested in pushing extensive testing around $300. She stepped out of the exam room and said her nurse would be back to follow-up. When the nurse returned, she knew nothing about an oral rinse or paw spray. She went to check with the vet, but she was now busy with something else, keeping her from returning to the exam room. I paid $75+ for the visit and left. On my way out the staff told me they were out of the oral spray, but didn't know what the vet recommended for paw spray. What a disorganized office, the staff just stood there looking clueless, no one could step up and help me. I left without a diagnosis or being able to help my dog with her bleeding gums and itchy paw. Unfortunately, I will need to return for a heartworm test or I won't be able to refill my dog's medication.

Only for doctor Berkovets!!!…read more ONE STAR. If I could give zero, I would. I brought my young Maine Coon here for a routine neuter. What followed after this "routine" procedure turned into a nightmare. About a week into treating the complications and problems that began after the procedure and subsequent treatment, the doctor actually suggested that I EUTHANIZE my cat. Immediately after surgery, my cat developed a severe cough. I repeatedly told the doctor about it, but in my experience, my concerns were simply brushed off. Within two days, my cat stopped eating and drinking, developed severe watery diarrhea, weakness and unsteadiness, and his temperature at the clinic reached a terrifying 107.3°F. Then came one injection and medication after another. What disturbed me most was that he was given two medications that, as I was later told, should not have been given together or so close together. I was left with the impression that the doctor simply failed to account for the previous injection before giving the next one. After that, my cat had around 11 episodes of vomiting, became severely dehydrated, and needed days of fluid therapy. His condition continued to deteriorate: high fever, vomiting, refusal to eat, major weight loss, gastrointestinal problems, and later serious breathing problems after aspirating fluid. At one point, my critically ill cat was left at the clinic overnight even though, to my understanding, there was no veterinary staff physically present there overnight. As an owner, I found that absolutely terrifying. I also believe his throat may have been injured during intubation because the coughing started immediately after the procedure, yet that concern was never taken seriously. I was also shocked by how outdated and disorganized this clinic felt. Records appeared to be kept largely on paper, getting complete treatment information was difficult, and I did not see a clear modern system documenting medications, injections, and the full history of what had been done to my cat. The most frightening part was that I kept bringing him back, kept paying, and kept trusting the doctor while my cat became weaker and weaker. Instead of a clear plan, clear explanations, and a serious attempt to determine why he was deteriorating, I eventually heard a suggestion to euthanize him. I brought in a young cat for a routine procedure. What followed was weeks of vomiting, dehydration, weight loss, breathing problems, repeated medications, and suffering. In my personal experience, the care was careless, chaotic, outdated, poorly coordinated, and deeply lacking in compassion. I will never trust this clinic with any of my animals again.
