Absolute best Vet clinic in the area. The staff is always FRIENDLY and very CARING . I always have an amazing experience here bringing my two Orange boys for years. Both Rome and Ozzy are of course scared of doctor's visits but once they arrive it always turns into a pleasant experience and they feel like it's a spa visit and not a doctor's visit. Camryn, Amber, Michelle, Chris and all other staff members including the doctors are absolute Pet lovers they know how to approach their pet clients to make them feel at ease not stressed... . They each have few of their own pets home and they simply know how to treat my cats so they are at upmost comfort while at the doctor's. My cats quickly relax every time we get there and tons of kisses and cuddles help them adjust quickly and forget about an exam or any other activity ( like ear cleaning of nail trim). Saturday I called my current vet if they could see my Kona seem to be licking her bum a lot and told them she has probably ruptured her gland , they said they could not take her in .. I started calling around , few were not available .. I called Venice Animal Clinic and they said she can come in and see the technician , the Dr not in the office today . They Price gouge they give tests and vaccines without approval and when you say no to blood work they pressure you without providing a price and sell it as a cost saver for the future. The bloodwork alone cost 155. I have 2 dogs, The total vet cost with intentions of just a few questions a rabies shot, urinalysis and check for ear infection and questions about allergies. Cost me $853 which included a $25 discount an average of . Cost of $439 per dog. I specifically said I was cutting down on all vaccines tests etc. I brought them both in to have their ears checked for infection, skin allergies/yeast, a urinalysis and a rabies shot. They take your dogs away, you don't know what they do to them, you meet with I am assuming a vet tech until the end when the Vet walked in to tell me my dogs were in good shape. They administered 2 shots to one of my dogs in front of me and told me the other had been vaccinated already. So they gave them extra shots not approved, a fecal test that I specifically said they didn't need, pressured into blood testing if they did it on healthy dogs. Shuffled out after the vet came in for one second and I have no answers on UTI, ear infection, what to do about skin or if they have yeast. But rest assure I was informed they were vaccinated for covid. I used to go to Dr. Kelly Garner is not there anymore. After I get my bill they try to take a picture of my dogs, the strangest thing all I could say was don't take a picture of my dogs and I will not come back here again. I am picking up their records tomorrow and finding a new vet. Update: When I went to pick up records the next day, I started to look at the urinalysis for the UTI, one of the main reasons I brought them in. There was bacteria present on the test. I asked them if what I was seeing was correct. They asked a tech vet to review it. It was confirmed my dog had a UTI. That they did not treat. They were obviously not even seen by a vet. They are all about building up charges and not caring for your pets. read more

Went to these crooks for a simple check-up for a poodle and they demanded $457 - gave her tests she didn't need and other ways to slam the neophyte dog-owner. Well done! Today I called the Venice Animal Clinic here in Venice near where I am staying cuz my dog's belly looked very red with infection last night from a razor cut, thanks to a horrible would be a groomer who was substituting for my normal one. I had a lot to do but wanted to get Fallon in to be seen asap. I was told I could bring her in (4:00 then). I asked if I could finish my meal (yes). Finished eating, started looking for clinic which I had been told was in same center as the restaurant where I ate. Well it wasn't. I called and the girl tried unsuccessfully to give further directions apparently because she was fairly ignorant . (Relax people ignorant does not mean stupid. It means lack of knowledge about some thing.) I finally Found the place myself and Right after I entered the Clinic and Dr came storming out of the door from exam rooms area and said something to the effect of "who is this, why is she here who made this appointment??!? ". In A very unfriendly sharp tone and with a very unfriendly nasty looking look on his face!!! I stood up and said, "don't worry about it we're leaving. I won't have my dog looked at or touched by someone like you who clearly should not be treating dogs or cats!"What a horrible man! The really sad part is that my dog needed a vet's attention asap. But it wasn't an emergency. We can wait for a "real" veterinarian! read more

We went to Venice Clinic about a year and half ago. Met Dr. Garner and Dr. Garner Sr. They are the most caring and compassionate vets you will ever meet. Our dog has many issues and requires immediate attention and somehow they manage to let us bring him in. We are retired seniors and they are very reasonable on their pricing. I recently moved back to the area and needed a vet. I initially reached out because of an emergency situation. They saw me that afternoon shortly after I called. In fact they are very accommodating with scheduling. This matters! I saw the other reviewer saying the office/location has not been updated in 20+ years. This means zero to me in terms of the service provided here. Yes it could use some sprucing up. However, I've been to spotless vets who had little compassion. This matters! Both Dr Garner Senior and his son Dr Garner helped me through a very difficult time, while being compassionate. They were also extremely reasonable in pricing. I was actually surprised at the low cost. This matters! I am recommending Venice Animal Clinic to all my family and friends because of my experience there. I've found our vet and couldn't be happier! read more

We needed a vet for an emergency situation and got an appointment right away. Dr. Garner is very knowledgeable and was able to treat our dog with such great care and get her on the road to recovery. The staff was very helpful. They even kept our vet up north informed about the situation. We spoke with both vets and are so impressed. Their fees are very reasonable. I don't recommend bringing any bird or exotic to this vet. I brought in a recently adopted Cockatiel and to have her nails, beak and wings trimmed. After waiting over an hour after my appointment the Dr proceeded to do the trimming. Afterwards my poor bird looked horrible and the vet laughingly commented that they have had them croak from doing a wing trim and he doesn't normally do the trims himself. So we left after she calmed down and yesterday we found out he did not trim her wings correctly because as she was in her cage to get a shower she managed to get free of her cage and took off full flight. Called today and was told by another Dr that as of last week the Dr in question was no longer with them, well that helps really. He messed up so much you fired him yay. I was then told he never charged for the wing clip I assume because he did a horrible job and didn't want to show proof of it. I was told that they will send the concern to the owner or manager but they would not reimburse for the adoption fees I just paid but they may reimburse me for the $40 visit. This clinic is an absolute joke. I wouldn't trust them with a gecko I found outside. It's a true shame because they are the only local vet around to treat exotics but I'll travel an hour to get quality care. I even take partial responsibility I should have known and not trusted the locks on the cage. But to just brush off such a traumatic visit and the loss of a pet is just atrocious read more

I loved this vet until Terry unfortunately got sick. When Kelly took over things are not the same. Prices have almost doubled. I understand these times are troublesome and trying, but why would you schedule me to bring my dog in at 8:30 in the morning and when I call at 1:30 you still have not seen her. And you tell me that when you do see her you will definitely call me. And then when I call again at 3:30 you have seen her, but you never did call me! So - why would you have me bring my dog in at 8:30 in the morning and not see her until 3:30. And when you tell me what you saw her for it wasn't even for the main reason she was supposed to be seen for. The main reason for the appointment was for vomiting and being lethargic for 3 weeks and you actually asked me "what do you want us to do for her for the lethargic?". Seriously I was asked this!!! So you decided to take a blood test, I called back an hour later at 4:30 was told the test was done and to come in and the Dr. will talk to me and I can pick up my dog. I got to the office at 4:45, called and paid my expensive bill and sat in the parking lot for 1 hour! Received another phone call at 5:45 saying the Dr. prescribed 2 medications that were not on the original bill - another shocked expensive bill, paid that and still did not speak to the Dr. He was just too busy. I did see him speak to another customer just a few minutes earlier outside though. He finally called me around 7pm that night. Have tried calling the vet twice to speak to Terry about his diagnosis and he won't call me back. I guess its time for a new vet. Obviously they over book and only want money now. So sad. I had a terrible diagnosis and a very stressful day due to this vet. read more

My family has been taking our animals here for years only when something goes wrong which is thankfully not often the building has not changed in like 20 years and it's pretty gross. The people are nice and good with the animals but the fact that my dog got kennel cough from here means I will definitely not be returning considering it probably could've been avoided if they cleaned up. There were no labels on any of the medicine given which seems in professional. read more

Because for years Dr. Garner took care of my pets...lots and lots of money poured into his palm..My poor old lab was in such pain and I called three days in a row to just talk with him about the medication he prescribed that I was no longer able to get at 1-800 pet meds. because of the problem with the plant. I needed another medication and his knowledge of such. He DID NOT RETURN ANY OF MY CALLS. He let my poor old dog suffer. We have now taken all our our three dogs to a new Vet who doesn't just give you a lot of hot air and ANOTHER SHOT...but has helped with medication along with laser treatment allowing my old dog to once again walk. If you want a Vet that is really good at just talking and not really helping but great at giving another steroid shot and charging you plenty ..then go and waste your money too. read more
