Prior to his next day doctor's appointment, contacting insurance or going out and purchasing one... I called up Chippewa Place and asked if they had a Walker we could use. Spoke to some very nice young ladies that told me they had an extra one and he could have it. How lovely, generous, kind and caring! Picked it up shortly after and it was in remarkable condition. More than what I had in mind and it made a world of difference. They wanted nothing in return other than helping out and being wonderful people. Thank You So Very Much!

The new owner is a "for profit" LLC and claims the increase is to keep in line with 'current market rates.' In the mean time, the food services has been reduced and the quality of the food sourcing has gone to the lowest possible provider. The continental breakfast appears in advertising, but is not provided in the lease and is only a 'courtesy' from the landlord. The new, absentee land lord from NJ, also has struck out wording from the former lease which would limit incremental services charges to be passed on to the resident. They are in it for the money and residence safety and well being are not the driving concern to providing senior independent living. There are better landlords in the Cleveland metro area which will not price gouge current senior residents with indiscriminate sur charges. Chippawa Place has lost it's reputation as a quality care independent living option and is now under the Horizon umbrella of facilities.

The atmosphere is that of a home rather than of a facility. The place is immaculately clean. Meals are home-cooked and healthy. The ratio of aides to residents is much higher at Greenview than at larger facilities and so all of the residents can receive individualized, timely care. The staff is carefully trained and very caring. The owner (Danka) has a wealth of knowledge about senior care and is expert at providing hands-on care herself. She is there daily, overseeing every aspect of the facility and of the care. Family and visitors are welcomed and become part of the loving community at Greenview. What a difference!

The people were sitting outside visiting and taking in the sunshine. The front desk ladies were friendly. The residents walking around said Hello. The only odor I smelled was the aroma of lunch! Candid pictures of residents are in the walls. Activities and crafts are out to show. There is a plant light for succulents. Around the grounds, the mostly one story resident buildings are very nice with garages. The windows appear to be the crank open kind. There are lots of trees and birds. A lot of staff were visible. There was a kindness and compassion from the staff to the residents that set it apart from other assisted living communities I have visited. The activities that are available, the theater, the billiards, the quiet areas with water features. I am not ready for assisted living but I wanted to sign up to be honest.
